The driver found a place to park the car. The car of the Clark family stopped as well. When Valeria opened the car door, Anna had already gotten out of her car. She ran over to the former. She was shocked to see that Valeria was not the only one in the car. The nanny and the children were there as well. Hence, she asked, “Valeria, are you bringing the children around?”
“Yeah, hop in.”
Helen got out of the car as well and came over with an apologetic look on her face. “Valeria, Anna has lived overseas for a long time. She is a little tactless and she never feels embarrassed. Is it okay for her to go back with you?”
“It’s totally fine. Don’t worry about it. I’ll take good care of her.”
Anna chimed immediately, “Valeria, I don’t need you to take care of me. My legs are healed already.”
It was obvious that she didn’t understand what they were saying at all. Helen felt frustrated as she didn’t know what to do with her. She heaved a sigh. “I’ll leave her to you, Valeria.”
She then warned Anna, “Don’t cause trouble for Valeria. When you’re at the Howard family’s place, be more ladylike. Don’t pour your heart out to everyone.”
Anna nodded vigorously as she said, “I know how to behave like a lady. Don’t worry, I will be extremely ladylike.”
Half an hour later, the car stopped at the Howard family’s mansion. Anna was the first to get out of the car, followed by Valeria. She looked at the mansion curiously. “Wow! It’s huge! It’s even more beautiful than my aunt’s house! Valeria, I just can’t wait to go in and have a look.”
Valeria chuckled and said, “Okay, we’ll go in now.”
The bodyguards outside the mansion responded as soon as they spotted Valeria getting out of the car. After greeting her, they ran in immediately to inform Hayden.
Hayden was talking to Andrew about the children’s hundred days party in the living room when he heard the bodyguards say that Valeria had come back with the two children.
He immediately stood up and rushed outside. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I could’ve welcomed you with more people! Argh, my poor grandson. His grandfather didn’t even know that he was coming home!”
Andrew couldn’t help but laugh as he watched Hayden run out. He reminded the former, “Grandpa, take it slow! Watch your steps.”
Hayden ran until he reached the center of the courtyard. Anna was already there, holding Valeria’s hand as she entered the compound with the nanny and the children.
When Valeria saw Hayden, she grinned happily. “Dad, why are you in such a hurry?”
“Don’t you know that I came out to welcome you and my dear grandsons? You told me that you’ll be back in a few days, didn’t you? Why didn’t you tell me in advance if you’re coming back today?” Hayden’s face was full of joy despite his complaints. He was at a loss for choosing which grandson to hug first.
In the end, he reached out and stroked Cade’s face. Then he took Santhos from the nanny.
Hayden didn’t know Anna personally, so he didn’t pay much attention to her. He only cared about his precious grandsons.
Anna didn’t mind that she was being ignored at all. She greeted him sweetly, “Hello, Mr. Howard!”
Only then did Hayden look at her. She didn’t look like a staff member at all. Valeria introduced Anna to him with a smile during his confusion. “Dad, this is Anna! She is Helen’s niece.”
Hayden smiled and nodded. “Hello, Miss Taylor! Please come in!” Andrew trailed behind him at this moment. When he saw Anna’s surprised expression, he greeted her with a smile. She seemed shy as she spoke to him.
Being an observant person, Hayden knew what was going on when he saw the expressions on Andrew’s and Anna’s faces during their conversation. He immediately ordered the nanny, “Valeria is back with Miss Taylor. We’ll need a few more dishes for lunch.”
The nanny took note of his words and went to make the preparations. Meanwhile, Andrew smiled and took Cade from her. “Valeria, do you know that your uncle is back?”
Valeria shook her head. “I have no idea. I’m planning to tell him when I come back.”
Hayden laughed heartily. “You came back just in time. Andrew and I were just talking about the babies’ hundred days banquet. You should join the discussion too.”
“I won’t take part. Since you’re making the arrangements personally, I’m sure everything will turn out to be just perfect.”
After Valeria finished her words, she saw that Anna was staring at Andrew. Thus, she immediately reminded him, “Andrew, Miss Taylor is very interested in our family. Plus, it’s her first time here. You should accompany her to the garden and take a stroll around.”
“Sure!” Andrew agreed readily. Valeria reached out to him. “I’ll take Cade with me!”
After Andrew handed Cade to Valeria, he went to the garden with Cade.
Hayden and Valeria brought the children to the living room. Hayden’s curiosity was over the top. “Valeria, what’s the story between Miss Taylor and Andrew?”
“Dad, it goes like this. I helped set up a blind date for them before, and they were very happy with each other after the date.”
“That’s great. The daughter of the Taylor family should be a nice person, right?” Hayden was overjoyed. “I’ve always worried about Andrew’s marriage. The boy is only focused on work. He doesn’t have a girlfriend at all. I feel much more at ease now.”
It looked like Hayden was satisfied with Anna as well. Valeria was relieved. “Dad, you and the nanny should look after Cade and Santhos. I’ll go to the gym.”
“Why are you going to the gym?” Hayden was perplexed.
“I have an appointment with the fitness coach at home. In the future, the coach might come and help me train to lose weight every day. Dad, please don’t mind if we are noisy.”
Hayden smiled upon hearing her words. “I don’t mind some extra noises, but are you even fat right now? What’s the point of losing weight since you aren’t fat at all? It’s a blessing to be able to enjoy food and drinks at optimum health.”
“But I can’t bear to be this fat. Dad, I’ll be going to the gym.”
As Hayden watched Valeria go to the gym, he called William. “William, Valeria is back. Will you come back for lunch?”
William agreed instantly. “I’ll be back for lunch!”
“By the way, Andrew’s girlfriend is here too. She is the lady of the Taylor family, who was introduced by Valeria. I think she is good-looking and spirited. She is a good match for Andrew. Come back early and have a look at her. You should give Andrew some advice regarding the type of person she is.”
William was surprised to hear the news. Did Anna go to the Howard family’s mansion with Valeria? Was she that into Andrew?
He was still cooking up plans to arrange a meeting for Anna and Raymond. However, since Anna and Andrew had mutual feelings for each other, he couldn’t randomly play matchmaker and match her to someone else.
William got up and walked outside after he hung up. When he reached the door, Marcus arrived from outside. The two of them almost bumped into each other. Then William frowned and asked, “Why are you in such a rush?”
“Mr. Howard, Raymond is already here.”
“So what if he is here? Why are you so flustered? Are you that afraid of him?”
“I’m not scared of him. Actually, he sneaked in and went straight to Anna. They’re talking to each other as we speak.”
William’s expression froze momentarily. “And?”
“It’s lunchtime now, so Anna just went out with Raymond. I don’t think he came here on purpose because he wants to date Anna. He is likely here to stir up trouble for you.”
William shot a glare at Marcus. The latter didn’t dare to continue his words. Instead, he said with an apologetic smile, “Mr. Howard, what do we do now?”
William scoffed lightly. “We’ll talk once I get home.”
“Aren’t you going to solve this problem that involves Raymond? If he takes Anna to Natalie, it will be troublesome. By then…”
“What will happen by then? Will he cause a fiasco?” William said while ignoring Marcus. He strode straight into the elevator. Marcus scratched his head and said, “Isn’t William afraid that Natalie will punish him? Looks like he is getting bolder and bolder, isn’t it?”
