Chapter 1430 Waiting For You

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

The most important thing that Deborah and Fandrey had to do every day was to visit Valeria in the maternity centre to play with the twins.
Deborah specially brought the bird’s nest soup for Valeria when she came. While Fandrey and the midwives were watching the twins, Deborah brought the bird’s nest and opened it for Valeria to eat.
Valeria took the hot bird’s nest with a smile and said, “Grandma, I’ve gained another half a kilogram recently. I need to lose weight, but you keep giving me delicious food. It seems that I won’t be able to go on a diet.”
“Now is not the time to lose weight and you have to recuperate. All you need to do now is to eat and sleep well. You need to take good care of yourself. You can think about having a nice figure after 50 days.”
“I’m afraid that I’ll be 100kg in 50 days. How can I lose so much weight?” Valeria touched her double chin.
“It’s okay. Just eat this first and I’ll go on a diet with you when the time comes.”
Valeria ate a bowl of bird’s nest soup after Deborah’s persuasion. Deborah then asked about Braelynn when she saw Valeria finish the soup, “Is Braelynn not coming today?”
“She came in the morning and stayed here for two hours. She had something to do in the company after that, so she went back.”
“Is that so? Valeria… Does Braelynn still hate me very much?” Deborah asked a little embarrassedly.
“I don’t think so… She wasn’t very angry that day. I talked with her for a while, and she didn’t take it to heart after she knew that you didn’t know about the situation. Braelynn is a very sensible person, so it won’t be difficult to get along with her.”
Deborah heaved a sigh of relief. “Valeria, tell me in advance when Braelynn comes and visit you. I’ll come over and have a good chat with her. Speaking of which, I haven’t had a good talk with her yet.”
“No problem, I will inform you in advance.” Valeria promised.
Deborah was in a better mood. “I’m looking forward to the completion of your confinement period. I’m bored to death now because no one will accompany me to go shopping and eat delicious food.”
“I also want to finish this quickly because there are too many rules. The only thing I can do in this suite all day long is to eat or sleep. I can’t play with my phone or watch TV. Life is too difficult here.”
Valeria sighed and said, “I’ll count down the days when I wake up every morning. Isn’t a month is enough? Why did my parents, William, and my father-in-law want me to stay here for fifty days? Do they want to bore me to death?”
“They’re doing it for your own good, so you should listen to them. Besides, being bored is worth it because you have your son with you.”
Valeria was even more dissatisfied when Deborah mentioned her sons. “They only sleep all day. They’ll have a nap after eating and playing for a while, so how can they accompany me?”
“They’re not even a month old yet? They’ll definitely cause a ruckus by then. At that time, you will definitely be annoyed at them for making a scene.”
Fandrey carried Cade in cautiously as they were talking. Just then, Deborah immediately stood up when she saw how Fandrey carried Cade. “Give him to me, your posture is not right.”
“What’s wrong? I’ve practiced it before,” Fandrey replied unhappily.
“How can you compare a real human baby with your practica doll?” Deborah stretched out her hands and took Cade from Fandrey. “Cade, smile at me!”
Cade only looked at Deborah with his round eyes without any response.
Fandrey said proudly, “He smiled at me a few times just now. It proves that he likes me a lot!”
“You think too highly of yourself. Cade wouldn’t like someone who looked as scary as you.” Cade giggled happily when Deborah reached out to touch his chin.
Deborah laughed heartily. “Did you see that? Cade loves me so much.”
“You cheated! He was happy even when I didn’t touch his chin. He’s just laughing because you tickled his chin.”
“What do you know about babies? Cade obviously likes his grandma more than his old grandpa.”
Valeria couldn’t help laughing when she heard Deborah’s words. Fandrey touched his chin and laughed dryly. “I’m only worried about Braelynn now since William and Valeria have children. I don’t know when she’ll get married and have children.”
“What’s the rush? Braelynn is so beautiful, smart, and talented. So many guys are dying to marry her.” Deborah snorted.
“You can’t say that. Most men don’t like their partners to be smarter and more talented than themselves. Since Braelynn is such a strong businesswoman, I think most of the men who match her standards would feel threatened.”
Valeria said when she heard Fandrey’s words, “Don’t worry, Braelynn and Richard are all right now.”
“Richard? He’s not bad, but I feel that he’s not good enough for Braelynn. Look at Richard’s playful gaze, it’s obvious that he’s a playboy. Besides, his reputation was also…” Deborah was obviously not satisfied with Richard.
Valeria smiled and said, “Richard is not a playboy. He was in the same position as William and his rumours were spread by others. In fact, Richard is very pure and innocent.”
“Is that so? But I still don’t like Richard being my grandson-in-law.”
Fandrey shook his head. “You don’t care who Braelynn likes, do you?”
“Just because I can’t control her now doesn’t mean I won’t have a say in the future. I’ll pick a good husband for her after I mend our relationship.”
Santhos’ cries could be from outside as she spoke, so Fandrey immediately went out. “Who made Santhos upset? Let me hug him.”
Santhos burst into tears, but Fandrey couldn’t coax him at all. Even the nanny couldn’t do anything about it after she hugged him for a while.
The nanny from the Howard family was extremely anxious. “I fed him milk powder just now and I just changed his diapers. What’s going on?”
“Bring him in and let me have a look,” Valeria spoke from inside the room. The nanny hurriedly carried Santhos to Valeria’s side. He then stopped crying in an instant after Valeria carried him in her arms.
“Do you miss me? But you’re still so tiny, so that shouldn’t be the case.” Everyone looked at Santhos in surprise.
When Valeria kissed Santhos’ face, he looked at her with a smile and his beautiful eyes were full of tears.
“Santhos is particularly attached to Madam, who will hug him whenever he cries. Cade is completely different and he’ll become very happy whenever he sees William. You can see which parent they prefer even at such a young age.”
“Well, it’s true!”
William arrived with Bobby while everyone was talking.
He frowned as soon as he entered the door. “Grandpa, grandma, Angel is standing downstairs with a bouquet of flowers in her arms. It seems that she is waiting for you.”
