When William reached the cemetery, the Clark family still wasn’t there yet.
There were many people gathered outside the cemetery, all of whom were relatives and friends of the Clark family.
When they saw William getting out of the car, those who knew him came forward to greet him.
After another ten minutes, the Clark family’s car arrived. Donald and Richard got out first.
Helen finally got out of the car. She looked pale, and was supported by a servant.
Seeing that they had arrived, William and Braelynn helped Valeria out of the car.
Helen, who was originally expressionless, suddenly became excited when she saw Valeria. Her eyes turned red in an instant and she cried out in a trembling voice, “Valeria!”
After that, she could not help but burst into tears.
Helen’s heart ached as if she had seen her daughter when she saw Valeria.
She struggled to get rid of the maid’s hands and stumbled to Valeria. The two hugged each other tightly. Helen’s tears rolled down her cheeks as she said, “My Abbie! Valeria, Abbie is never coming back ever again!”
Hearing Helen’s hoarse and sorrowful voice, Valeria couldn’t help but burst into tears too.
Her daughter was gone and she was extremely depressed. Seeing Valeria, who was Abbie’s best friend, was like seeing Abbie herself. Helen could not control herself and cry bitterly.
Abbie was Valeria’s best friend and they were as close as sisters. Abbie’s passing definitely hurt Valeria deeply as well.
She and Helen hugged each other and cried. She was heartbroken and completely forgot that she couldn’t cry during this period of her time, especially when she had just given birth.
Seeing Valeria and Helen crying sadly, Braelynn’s eyes also turned teary. She had always been strong and didn’t want others to see her crying. Braelynn then turned her back to wipe her tears.
Seeing that Valeria was crying uncontrollably, William sighed and went forward to persuade her. “Dear, don’t cry. Abbie won’t want to see you and Helen crying so sadly.”
Richard also came forward to comfort her. “Mom, don’t be sad. Valeria has just given birth, so she can’t be too emotional. Please stop crying for her sake, hm?”
Only then did Helen stop crying and wipe away the tears on Valeria’s face. The two held hands and walked into the cemetery with swollen eyes.
Abbie’s coffin was already prepared, and it was filled with all of her favourite clothes and bags.
Helen and Donald muttered a lot of words to the Cenotaph. Donald could still control himself but Helen began to cry again.
Braelynn and the servants came forward to help Helen away. Valeria whispered to Abbie, “I’ve already given birth to my two babies and they are both healthy and lovely. They are Cade and Santhos. Abbie, once I’ve recovered, I will bring them here to pay respect to you. When they grow up, I will tell them that they will forever have a god-mother who loves them. If you have any wishes that you have yet to achieve, tell me and I will help you. I know that you can’t let Helen go, so I will take good care of her for you like a daughter by her side.”
When William saw that Valeria kept muttering, tears welled up in his eyes and he came over to help her away.
The others who came to see Abbie off began to bid farewell to her one by one.
Richard was the last one. He stood in front of the tombstone with a stern face and looked at Abbie’s sweet smile on the photo. His eyes were filled with tears too gradually.
Richard squatted down and reached out to caress Abbie’s face on the photo. “I’m sorry! You must hate me for treating you that way, huh? I know it’s too late now, but if I had known that this would happen, I would have allowed you to do anything you wanted. Abbie, rest in peace. I will take good care of mom and dad, and I won’t let those wo have hurt you go so easily. Watch me as I make them pay back with blood!”
The cemetery gradually became empty as many went back after paying their respect.
A black car was parked far away from the cemetery. Michael was dressed in a fully black outfit, with Abbie’s favorite flower in his arms. He then walked into the cemetery.
He stopped in front of Abbie’s tomb. He put the flowers in his hand in front of the tombstone, and slowly knelt down.
On the tombstone, Abbie looked at Michael with a sweet smile. Michael raised his hand and gently touched her face.
What he came into contact with was not skin that was as smooth as cream, but ice-cold rock material. Michael looked at Abbie in a daze, with his fingers sliding across Abbie’s face over and over again.
“I’m sorry, Abbie! I’m so, so sorry!”
He muttered his apologies repeatedly until his throat was dry and he could not make any sound anymore.
The sun had set, and it was not as bright before.
The surrounding scenery was dim, and everything was silent. Michael’s legs were already numb from kneeling at this point.
Then, the ringing of his mobile phone broke the silence, and Michael suddenly sobered up. He tried hard to get up.
However, his legs were super numb. Michael couldn’t help but fall to the ground hard.
Lying on the ground, he looked at the dark sky and listened to his phone ringing in his pocket repeatedly.
Michael lay on the ground for a long time until his numb legs regained strength. Then he got up and limped out of the cemetery.
Back in the car outside, he took out his mobile phone from his pocket and looked at it. It was from Meadow and Azalea.
Meadow and Azalea called him several times, but he did not answer. They also texted him.
Meadow’s text was about Azalea, “Michael, where are you? Come back quickly because Azalea is crying in the room. No matter how hard I try, she won’t open the door. Come back and see what’s going on.”
Michael deleted Meadow’s message expressionlessly, and his eyes landed on Azalea’s text.
“Michael, I was humiliated today! I’m so sad! Can you talk to me?”
After reading the message, a sneer appeared on Michael’s lips. Sad? A bitch like her knew the feeling of sadness?
Michael knew that Azalea liked him a lot. He did not want to have anything to do with her before and kept a distant respectfully, but now it was different.
The woman he loved most was dead, and Azalea as the culprit was still alive and kicking.
What right did she have to enjoy life as if nothing had happened? He couldn’t let Azalea off when he was dealing with her. Hah, Azalea liked him, right?
He had to make Azalea suffer every day after this. Michael sent a message to his assistant, “Book a hotel room and find me a beautiful and sexy woman.”
