The guards at the door suddenly showed a happy expression on their faces. “She gave birth! She finally did it!”
Hayden called with a beaming smile. “Have you prepared the soup for Madam ready? Send it to the hospital right away!”
“There’s another one!” Gavin reminded him.
“Yes, she only gave birth to one and there’s one more.” Hayden nodded. “It should be soon, right?”
“The difference in delivery time can vary from a few minutes to more than 10 minutes,” the nurse immediately replied.
“I just need to wait a little longer before I can meet my precious grandsons!” Hayden rubbed his hands together.
“They still need to take a shower, so I’m afraid you’ll have to wait a little longer,” the nurse reminded with a smile.
“It doesn’t matter. A few minutes is nothing when I’ve been waiting for such a long time!”
He could hear the sound of another baby crying just as he said this. Gavin laughed and said, “Is that the second baby?”
“Isn’t that the cries of the first baby that was born?” Hayden asked uncertainly.
Valeria had used all of her strength to give birth to the second baby, and she was so tired that she fell asleep.
William didn’t even take a look at his sons. “My wife fainted! What’s going on?”
“She’s resting because she’s too tired. Don’t worry!” The doctor’s answer made William calm down. He reached out to stroke her wet hair and kissed her on the face. “You’ve worked hard, my dear!”
The doctor cleaned up Valeria’s wounds. When he saw that William’s hands were badly wounded as well, he immediately reminded, “William, go out and dress your wounds. Be careful not to let it get infected!”
“I’m fine. I have to stay here with my wife until she wakes up.” William refused to go out and treat his hands, so the doctor had to use some alcohol to help him disinfect the wound.
The two babies were wrapped up after they were cleaned. The nurse came over and said, “William, look at your babies! Here is the elder one, and here is the younger one!”
William looked at the two babies, whose faces were wrinkly and red. They seemed to be covered in fine hair. “Why… why do they look like this?”
“All newborns look like this. They are the most beautiful babies I have ever seen.”
William found it hard to accept it. If his children could look like monkeys when he and Valeria had such good genes, what would other children look like?
He was complaining in his heart as he reached out to hold the two babies in his arms. However, he still felt like they were ugly when he looked at them again.
Hayden and the others were waiting anxiously at the door. Then, they raised their voices and asked, “William, how is it? Is Valeria all right?”
“She’s fine.”
“Then can you take the babies out and let us have a look? I’m so worried!”
“Yes, carry the babies out,” Mr. Saunders also said.
The nurse had no choice but to say when she saw how impatient Gavin and Hayden were, “Don’t rush him! We still need to measure their height and weight after they’ve been cleaned. You need to wait for a while.”
“Is that so? How long will it take?”
Natalie was amused. “Let me go in and take a look at Valeria. I’ll take the babies out and let you have a look.”
“Hurry up!” Natalie entered the delivery room under the attentive gazes of Gavin and Hayden. At a glance, she saw William staring at both of the babies in a daze.
“Is Valeria okay?”
“She’s so tired that she fainted,” William replied.
“She has suffered a lot this time, but she’s finally safe and sound. It’s good that she managed to give birth to them.” Natalie went to the delivery bed and touched Valeria’s head.
The nurse cleaned up Valeria and asked William, “William, Madam is already cleaned up. Shall we send her to the maternity ward now?”
“Yes!” William nodded.
The nurse pushed Valeria while William and Natalie carried the children out of the delivery room. Meanwhile, Gavin and Hayden were already getting impatient outside.
When they saw William and Natalie come out with the children in their arms, they immediately came up to them and said, “Let me have a look!”
William handed the child in his hand to Hayden and turned to push Valeria to the ward. Archer also came over and looked at Valeria with distress. “My darling daughter is exhausted!”
Hayden was hugging his eldest grandson as he looked at the baby happily. “You’re a good boy, let Grandpa take a good look at you!”
Gavin was also beaming with joy. “He’s so handsome! He looks just like Valeria!”
Hayden didn’t want to give in. “He looks like William too!”
“Since that’s the case, then it’s easy to tell them apart. We can take the one that looks like Valeria, and you can take the one that looks like William. Both of our families will be very happy by then!” Raymond interrupted boldly and Hayden looked like he was about to blow.
Raymond held the elder twin in his arms and followed William, who was pushing Valeria. “Is our Valeria okay?”
William snorted. “You only care about your grandson. How can you ignore your daughter-in-law?”
“Since you’re here, you can take care of her!” Hayden smiled awkwardly. It wasn’t that he didn’t care about Valeria, but he was completely at ease because of William’s presence. Now that Willaim had said that, it looked like he completely neglected Valeria and only cared about his grandson. What would Archer and Natalie think of him?
“How dare you say that? Did you remember what I said when I left? How dare you let her go out? You almost caused a huge accident.” William was upset.
Hayden knew that he was in the wrong and obediently shut up. When Gavin saw that Hayden had been humiliated, he even winked at him.
Hayden glared at Gavin before looking down at his grandson in his arms. The more loved he felt whenever he looked at his grandson and he couldn’t bear to let go.
William pushed Valeria into the maternity ward, which had been well prepared. Then, he carried Valeria and put hre on the bed. The nurse came over and gave her an IV drip.
The nanny arrived at the hospital with the tonic soup. Hayden and Gavin were sitting on the sofa outside while they carried the pair of twins, and they said to Raymond, “Come on, help me take a picture with my grandson! I want to send it out to my friends!”
Raymond couldn’t help laughing and he took out his phone to take photos of Gavin and Hayden.
The two of them immediately posted the photos on social media with the same caption. “Our grandsons have been welcomed to the world!”
A few people left comments on Gavin’s post. “Congratulations, Mont! Did you prepare the gifts?”
Gavin didn’t think of it until he saw this reply. He looked at Archer and said, “Hurry up, send out the bonuses immediately to all the employees in the company! Everyone should have at least 500 dollars!”
Archer nodded with a smile. “Okay, I’ll tell them right away!”
When Hayden heard that, he immediately ordered Lucas with a smile, “Send at least 600 dollars to all the employees of the Howard family!”
“Hayden, what do you mean? Why do you have to give more than me? Are you competing with me on who gives the most money?”
“No, I’m not competing with you. I’m just too happy. No matter what, I’m a grandfather and I’m different from you. You’re a great-grandfather now.”
Gavin felt somewhat offended and he said, “Send out a bonus of 800 dollars! Hold on, increase the amount to 1500!”
