Abbie released her grip because of the pain and she fell back into the sea.
Azalea stood on a rock and looked at Abbie struggling in the water with a sinister smile. “Abbie, I’ll stand here and watch as you try to swim over and over again until you become exhausted and eventually sink down.”
“Azalea, do you really think you can marry Michael if I die? Dream on! He won’t marry you no matter what! Do you think it’s worth it to kill for a man who doesn’t love you? What’s more, my brother will be the first to suspect you if I really die. You will never have a happy ending!”
“I’m the eldest daughter of the Floyd family and I have the support of my family. What can your brother do to me without evidence?” Azalea had already thought of a way out.
“The person who asked you to meet up wasn’t me, but Michael’s mistress, Josephine. After Richard learns of your death, the first person he’ll find is Josephine and I’ll make sure she doesn’t speak a word about this.”
“You’re so vicious!”
“Don’t you know that I am a person who will do anything to achieve my goal? I have never thought of killing you and I was going to let you live if you were willing to leave Michael. All of this is your own fault! You have a death wish!”
Azalea had already made it clear and Abbie knew that she was in deep trouble tonight. It was hard to say who would win even when she had the means to go against Azalea usually, but today was different.
She was pregnant and she felt a faint pain in her stomach. She was no match for Azalea at all.
Since Azalea wanted to kill her, she would have to drag someone down with her even if she died.
Abbie reached out to climb the rock and Azalea cruelly raised her foot towards Abbie’s hand again.
Before Azalea could step on the back of Abbie’s hand, Abbie suddenly reached out to grab her foot and pulled it with all her strength.
Azalea also fell into the sea with a plop because she was caught off guard. Azalea didn’t expect this at all. She subconsciously wanted to raise her head, but Abbie viciously reached out and pressed her head into the water.
“It’s not that easy to kill me! I have to drag someone down with me even if I die!”
The salty seawater rushed into Azalea’s mouth and nose and the taste was unbearable.
Azalea struggled with all her might, but Azalea didn’t let go of her. She used all of her strength to firmly press down on Azalea’s head.
While the two of them were struggling in the sea, Azalea was starting to lose consciousness and she frantically pounded Abbie’s body. Azalea’s hand heavily struck Abbie’s abdomen, causing Abbie’s stomach to twitch in pain.
Abbie was in so much pain that she relaxed her grip on Azalea’s head. Azalea then took this opportunity to break free and finally get her head out of the water. She gasped for breath and swam desperately to the reef.
When Abbie saw that Azalea was about to go ashore, she endured the intense pain and swam over as well. She couldn’t let someone as evil and shameless as Azalea go ashore.
When Azalea started climbing onto a rock, Abbie grabbed her leg with all of her strength and tried to drag Azalea into the water.
Azalea grabbed the reef tightly and desperately kicked Abbie with her other leg. Abbie’s fingernails dug deeply into Azalea’s leg. Blood was dripping everywhere and it was so painful that Azalea screamed in pain.
The tide was rising and the waves were becoming bigger. Azalea was forced to swallow a few mouthfuls of seawater. Abbie, who grabbed her foot, was also in pain as the two struggled in the water.
Abbie had been swimming for so long. Coupled with the discomfort in her abdomen, her strength began to weaken. Meanwhile, Azalea was in better shape and she used all of her strength to kick Abbie’s stomach again.
Abbie felt as if her strength was seeping away. She couldn’t fall and she couldn’t let Azalea go. Even if she was going to die, she would drag Azalea to her death. Abbie was struggling to hold on as she was filled with a sense of determination.
Right at this time, a large wave rolled over them. The tidal surge was so powerful that Abbie had no choice but to let go powerlessly after being struck by the wave.
Azalea, on the other hand, only swallow a mouthful of seawater after she grabbed onto the rock. After the huge wave retreated, Azalea panted and scrambled up the rock.
Azalea couldn’t be bothered with the pain on her ankle, which was dripping with blood after she was scratched by Abbie. She ignored the pain and looked into the sea. There was no trace of Abbie on the dark ocean surface.
Had Abbie been swept away by the great waves? That was the best-case scenario. Otherwise, Azalea’s life would definitely be over if Abbie managed to climb up.
Azalea sat on a rock and stared at the surface of the sea. She waited for another half an hour, but she didn’t see any trace of Abbie.
A normal person could only hold their breath for a few minutes in the water. Since Abbie still hadn’t appeared, there wasn’t much chance of her being alive.
Azalea would have gotten rid of her greatest threat if Abbie died, but this didn’t mean that she was safe.
She still had other things to do. First of all, she had to deal with Josephine so no one would know about anything that happened tonight.
Josephine was brought back to a stranger’s house by Azalea’s men with an uneasy feeling in her chest.
Her plan to meet Abbie tonight has failed.
Abbie had seen through her scheme, so she would never believe her anymore. Since she couldn’t complete Azalea’s orders, she wouldn’t get the remainder of her pay as promised.
Not only could she not get the money, but she also offended Abbie.
Abbie had the support of the Clark family and she would never let Josphine go. She would have to be on the run for the rest of her life.
Since she was in a desperate situation, it was better for her to run away first.
Josephine wanted to open the door, but she found that there were bodyguards guarding the house.
The bodyguards were very respectful and polite. He asked Josephine what she needed and he would help her.
Josephine ordered a glass of water and returned to the room. She wasn’t a fool and she knew that she was under house arrest after looking at the situation in front of her.
Why did Azalea want to keep her under house arrest? Was she afraid that Josephine would expose what happened tonight to the Clark family?
Or did Azalea have another purpose? No matter what, she had to be careful.
Azalea came back after Josephine stayed in the room for about two hours. She opened the door and called Josephine. “Pack up and leave this place immediately!”
Josephine was shocked when she saw that Azalea was completely drenched. “Miss Clark, what’s wrong with you?”
“Come with me and let’s get in the car first.”
Josephine suppressed the doubts in his heart and got into the car with Azalea. “Miss Clark, did you manage to find Abbie?”
“No, I’m covered in the seawater because the waves were extremely big, but I didn’t see Abbie at all.”
“Really? Well… where did Abbie go?” Josephine was a little flustered.
“I went to the place you told me about, but I didn’t see her. I think she must be dead!”
