The phone fell to the ground and made a crisp sound, which shocked the bodyguard who called Azalea. He asked carefully, “Miss Clark, are you listening? Miss Clark!”
Azalea came to her senses and picked up her phone. “I know. Is there anything else?”
“I asked the doctor. He said that Abbie’s condition was not very good and there was a sign of miscarriage. He even gave her some medicine to help her with her pregnancy.”
Since Abbie had taken some medicine to help with her pregnancy, she must be planning to keep the child. Azalea frowned. “Okay, keep an eye on Abbie and let me know if there’s any news.”
Azalea sat down powerlessly after she hung up.
Azalea’s pregnancy was extremely bad news.
The Davis family would probably stop being so opposed to their relationship if they found out that Abbie was pregnant. The Clark family would not strongly stop Michael from being with Abbie either.
Moreover, Michael had such a good relationship with Abbie. Azalea would just be daydreaming if she planned to separate Michael and Abbie again.
How could Azalea be willing to let her efforts be in vain? She had been scheming so hard to get married to Michael and she was the only one worthy to be his wife.
She would never give Michael a chance to marry Abbie and she must find a way to deal with this.
Azalea forced herself to calm down and began to think of a plan.
Abbie should have found out that she was pregnant today. Judging from Michael’s reaction, Abbie probably hasn’t told him about her pregnancy.
Abbie would never tell Helen and Richard about her pregnancy, so there was still hope. Azalea had to settle this matter before the Clark and the Davis family knew about it.
Azalea had only wanted to use Josephine to make Abbie give up on Michael, but this method was not very feasible now that Abbie was pregnant.
She still had to think of a way. If Abbie disappeared…
Azalea thought of the scheme that Paisley had taught her before. It seemed that there was only one way out for now.
Azalea clenched her fists and decided to carry out her vicious plan!
Meanwhile, Josephine paced uneasily in the room in the Davis family’s villa. It had been a few hours since she was arranged by Azalea to stay in the servant quarters, but she was still worried.
Josephine knew that it would be difficult for her to escape if she was caught by Michael, and Azalea hadn’t paid her yet. Wouldn’t it be a complete waste of her time if she couldn’t get the money?
She had to ask Azalea for money first so she could run away and leave the entire mess to Azalea after she was paid.
The door was pushed open and Azalea walked in just as Josephine was deep in thought. “Are you used to staying here?”
“Yes!” Josephine didn’t pretend any longer. “Miss Clark, I’ve already gone to see Michael according to your request and I’ve also sent a message to Miss Clark. Shouldn’t you start fulfilling your promise?”
“We can settle the money now. I’ll give you 400 grand first, and I’ll give you the rest when you meet with Abbie to finish the plan.”
Josephine was very hesitant when she heard that she needed to meet Abbie. “Why do I have to meet her? Michael is looking for me everywhere. If he catches me, the consequences will be unimaginable.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t let that happen. You just need to see Abbie find a remote place. As long as you do as I asked, I will immediately give you the remaining 800 thousand.”
Josephine originally wanted to run away after getting the 400 thousand dollars, but she became greedy when she heard Azalea’s words. “Do I just have to meet her?”
“Of course! The only thing you need to do is to meet up with her and fulfil my requests. The 800 thousand dollars will be in your hands immediately.”
“Okay, that’s settled then. Miss Clark, when should I contact Abbie?”
“Right now! Send a message to Abbie first according to my instructions.”
Abbie’s stomach felt much better after she took the medicine and lay on the bed for a while. She was trying to figure out about her memory loss. Since Azalea’s words were not credible, she could only ask Michael, Richard, and Josephine.
Of course, Abbie would not ask Michael. After all, he was the main person involved in that matter and it was possible that he had cheated on her. He would never tell the truth if she asked him. Only Richard and Josephine left, and she did not even intend to ask her brother. Josephine was her only choice left.
Abbie felt that Josephine wasn’t a good person. The words that came out of Josephine’s mouth shouldn’t be completely credible, but Abbie had no choice.
Abbie was wondering how to interrogate Josephine when the latter sent a message first. “Miss Clark, I escaped from Michael!”
“Is that so? Why do you want to escape?” Abbie asked.
“I told you before that Michael wanted to take me back to the country to meet Mr. Richard. I can’t see him because I can’t afford to offend him. I can’t do anything about it, so I have no choice but to run away. Miss Clark, I know that you’re innocent. I know I hurt you, so I want to apologize to you!”
“And then?” Abbie replied coldly. Josephine probably wanted to ask her for a favour, so she wanted to see what Josephine was going to do.
“Miss Clark, I’m sure you want to know what happened before your memory loss. I promise you that I will tell you everything that happened back then. I only hope that you can guarantee that Michael and Richard will let me go. I want to live a normal life.”
Abbie did not believe Josephine’s words. “Is that all?”
“Yes, that’s it. Miss Clark, it’s impossible for me to marry Michael with my status. I’ve always known that and I admit that I was used. Let me tell you a bit about what happened. Someone planned your memory loss and they shamelessly used me to plot against you and Michael.”
“Who is it?”
“I can’t tell you now. I’ll tell you the identity of the person that schemed against you when I meet you, but only after you guarantee my safety. Miss Clark, I promise I’ll tell you everything when we meet!”
Abbie pondered for a moment. She really wanted to know what had happened at that time, but was it safe for her to see Josephine?
Did Josephine have any hidden intentions behind meeting Abbie?
Josephine sent another message when Abbie didn’t reply. “Are you worried about what I’m going to do to you? Don’t worry, Miss Clark. I’m powerless and I have nowhere to go. How can I have the ability to do anything to you? I just want to live a peaceful life. Miss Clark, you’re the only person that can help me. Please help me, okay?”
Abbie stared at the message on the screen for quite some time before typing a few words. “Where do you want to meet?”
