Madelyn thought that Callum would change his attitude because Angel’s identity had not been exposed yet. Angel was still his only daughter, so he would definitely be soft-hearted and ask about her condition.
She would play along with the act and say that Angel had a medical condition that would make her infertile if she got an abortion.
However, she was wrong. Callum and Emily wouldn’t ask any questions and they didn’t show any concern for Angel. Callum immediately pressed the bell without any hesitation.
Soon, the waiter pushed the door open and came in. “Sir, what can I do for you?”
“What’s with these two people? Who allowed them to enter our private room?”
“I’m extremely sorry!” After the waiter apologized, he turned to Angel and Madelyn and said in a very serious tone, “Please leave immediately!”
“I’m not leaving! Why should I leave when I’m here to meet my parents?” Angel didn’t care about her pride anymore and retorted sharply.
“Well…” The waiter looked at Emily and Callum with embarrassment when he heard Angel’s words.
“What are you waiting for? Get them out of here! Do you want me to make a complaint about you?”
Callum’s attitude was merciless as he was determined to drive Angel and Madelyn away.
Madelyn could only beg Emily when she saw this, “Angel is still your daughter no matter what. You can’t be so heartless to her! Think about what you had to go through in the past and have some compassion…”
Emily directly threw a glass of juice at Madelyn’s face even before she had the chance to finish her sentence.
Madelyn was covered in juice. She reached out to wipe her face and was stunned. “Emily… you…”
“Get lost!” Emily snapped.
Braelynn and Valeria watched this scene from the side with complicated emotions. Braelynn’s patience had reached its limit when she saw how ridiculous all of them were. She stood up and said, “Valeria, let’s go!”
Valeria couldn’t do anything but stand up and say, “Uncle, we’re leaving!”
Angel turned to look at them when she saw Braelynn pulling Valeria out. “Valeria! You’re also a mother and you’re pregnant too. Please help me for the sake of your child!”
“Get lost!” Braelynn spoke in front of Valeria. “How can a bitch like you be worthy of that? Get lost!”
“Braelynn! How can you be so shameless! How dare you scold me?” Angel turned to Braelynn angrily. She felt that she couldn’t offend anyone else in the room except for Braelynn.
As soon as Angel said that, Emily jumped up and slapped her even before Braelynn could react.
There was a handprint on Angel’s face as soon as Emily hit her. She held her face in pain and looked at Emily in disbelief. “You… you hit me?”
Emily was furious after her meal had been disturbed by Angel, who was an uninvited guest. She slapped Angel repeatedly. “You don’t have any manners at all, so I’ll teach you a lesson!”
Madelyn’s heart ached and she hurriedly stepped forward to stop Emily when Angel was beaten. “You can’t hit her because she’s pregnant! What if she gets hurt?”
Emily roared at Madelyn, “If you don’t want me to do this, don’t appear in front of me ever again!”
“Isn’t she your daughter? How can you be so cruel to your own child?” Madelyn was still trying to use family affection to her advantage, but Braelynn sneered and stepped out with Valeria.
Emily and Callum did not stay behind as well when they saw that Braelynn and Valeria had left. Callum looked at Angel, who was kneeling on the ground, sarcastically. “You can continue kneeling here as you please, I would like to see how long you can last.”
All of them left immediately and left Madelyn with Angel in the room.
Angel wanted to make a scene in the room. She even she knelt down and begged for mercy, but she couldn’t change anything at all. She was furious that she was even slapped twice.
Madelyn was also in an extremely bad mood as she reached out to help Angel. “They don’t believe in our pity act. Why are they so cruel? Angel, we have to find another way.”
Angel’s face was completely red and she wanted nothing more than to vent her anger. However, the only person she could vent to was Madelyn. Angel suddenly raised her hand and hit Madelyn’s face.
“This is all your fault! I want to beat you up for making me suffer such humiliation!”
Madelyn’s kindness wasn’t repaid at all. Instead, she was scolded and beaten by her own daughter. She couldn’t do anything to Angel, so she could only curse Emily in her heart to vent her anger.
Angel and Madelyn went back to their apartment with bruises on their faces after their plan failed. Just then, they met Paisley at the door of the elevator.
Paisley’s hair was tied into a bun and she was dressed fashionably with a smile on her face. He looked high-spirited and elegant.
She smiled undisguisedly when she saw Madelyn and Angel, whose faces were swollen. “What happened to both of you?”
“It’s none of your business!” Angel retorted angrily.
“Who slapped you? Let me guess. There aren’t many people who can hit you. At present, I can think of Valeria, Braelynn, Deborah, and your biological mother, Ms. Poland. If Valeria wants to hit you, she won’t do it himself. After all, she’s pregnant now and her servants will do it for her. However, the servants won’t hit you so lightly and Deborah won’t hit you either. Isn’t the only one left your own mother, Ms. Poland?”
Paisley emphasized the word ‘mother. Angel was so angry that she was going to pass out when she heard this. “Get lost right now!”
“Did I guess correctly? Why did Ms. Poland hit you? Did you say something inappropriate that angered her?”
“Shut up! I told you to shut up!” Angel yelled at Paisley with a ferocious look.
“Why are you being so fierce? You’re as miserable as the dogs on the street. You are so pitiful! You have been like this for several months. Are you sure you want to give birth to this child? What will you do if Richard doesn’t recognize the child?”
Paisley chased after Angel and ignored how much Angel hated her. “Did you see Veronica? What did she get from marrying Callum? Isn’t she divorced right now? Savannah married Archer as she wished, but she lost her life in the end as well. Ms. Floyd, you’d better think deeply about it.”
Angel didn’t know what to do, so she was a little scared by Paisley’s words. Would she really end up like Savannah and Veronica?
