“Valeria, are you here to meet Braelynn?” Callum did not hide his purpose as well. “Emily and I would like to treat you and Braelynn to a meal. Do you think that’s alright?”
Callum and Emily didn’t really want to treat them to a meal at all and they were obviously here for Braelynn. However, Braelynn wouldn’t necessarily agree with that because her attitude toward the Floyd family was lukewarm at best.
Valeria couldn’t help but hesitate when she thought of this. “This…”
“Mrs. Howard, please! We just want to see her and have a meal. We won’t say anything.” Emily’s expression and tone were full of pleading. Then, Valeria’s heart softened when she noticed how similar Emily looked to Braelynn.
“Alright, you can go to the revolving restaurant first and I’ll take Braelynn there later. When the time comes, we can pretend to meet by chance and have a meal.”
“Okay! I’ll go with Emily and wait for you.” Callum was very happy, so was Emily. “Thank you for your help, Mrs. Howard!”
“You don’t have to call me that, just call me by my name like Uncle!” Emily was still Callum’s partner, so Valeria would not be hostile towards her.
Braelynn was reading a document when Valeria arrived at her office. Valeria pushed the door open and went in with a smile. “Braelynn, are you busy?”
“Valeria!” Braelynn immediately stood up to help her up. “Why did you come here all of a sudden?”
“I’m bored, so I came out to relax and treat you to lunch. Do you have time now?”
Braelynn nodded. “Of course, let me buy you a meal.”
“No, it’s my treat. Let’s have a delicious meal and let your brother pay the bill!”
Braelynn couldn’t help laughing when she heard this. “Will my brother be there?”
Valeria shook her head and said, “No. He would always join us for our outings, so I didn’t tell him this time. We can go and eat some delicious food together.”
“It’s alright, I don’t mind calling him,” Braelynn said and called William. “William, I’m going to have lunch with Valeria. Do you have time to join us?”
William replied, “I have to see a client now. I’m quite busy, so you can go with Valeria. Remember to take good care of her.”
“All right!”
Braelynn waved her hands after she hung up. “He’s busy, so let’s go.”
They sat the Vellfire to the revolving restaurant while Emily and Callum had been waiting there for a while.
Both of them were very anxious because they didn’t know if Valeria could bring Braelynn here.
Callum and Emily immediately got up and greeted them as if they had met by chance when they saw Valeria and Braelynn entering hand in hand. “Valeria!”
Valeria had already seen Emily and Callum when she enters, but she pretended to turn his head and asked when she heard her name, “Uncle? Are you here too?”
Braelynn frowned and looked a little unhappy when she saw Emily and Callum.
Callum didn’t mind at all and he was still full of smiles. “I’m having a meal with Emily. Did both of you come here for lunch as well? How about I treat both of you since you’re here?”
“Well… I’ve already planned to have this meal with Braelynn, so it’s not very convenient.” Valeria refused.
“Why not? I haven’t treated you to a meal yet, so why don’t we eat together? Why don’t you give William a call as well?”
“My husband doesn’t have time because he needs to see a client. Let me ask Braelynn.” Valeria looked at Braelynn and asked for her opinion. “Is this alright with you?”
Braelynn would have turned around and left a long time ago if Valeria hadn’t been there. However, she couldn’t act rudely since Valeria had asked for her opinion. “It’s up to you.”
“Then let’s just have a meal together! This way!” Callum was happy and Emily was also full of smiles. Valeria held Braelynn’s arm and clearly felt how stiff she was.
She slowed down her pace. “We don’t have to go if you don’t want to.”
“It’s okay, don’t worry about me. I’m fine.”
The four of them went to the private room. Callum picked up the menu and asked, “What do both of you want to eat?”
“Let me order. I know what Braelynn likes.” Valeria took the menu and ordered the dishes that Braelynn liked before she handed the menu to Callum.
Emily kept looking at Braelynn with tenderness and love. She even took the initiative to pour the orange juice for Braelynn.
Braelynn frowned. “Thank you, but I don’t like drinking this!”
An awkward look flashed across Emily’s face. As a mother, she didn’t even know what her daughter liked. Damn it! If she knew that she would meet Braelynn for lunch today, she would definitely check up on what Braelynn liked, but there was no time.
Valeria smiled and switched her cup with Braelynn when she saw the embarrassment on Emily’s face. “I like orange juice and Braelynn likes to drink corn juice.”
Emily was extremely grateful when Valeria told her that and she immediately poured some corn juice for Braelynn.
Braelynn liked all the dishes that Valeria ordered. Emily was quick-witted as well, so she and Callum kept taking food for Braelynn and Valeria. Braelynn felt very uncomfortable every time she looked up and saw Emily’s loving eyes.
She had long known that Emily and Callum were her biological parents. However, being aware of that and acknowledging them were two completely different matters.
Braelynn was uncomfortable throughout the entire meal, but Callum and Emily were very happy.
Emily carefully deshelled the shrimp for Braelynn and placed it on her plate while Callum also helped her debone the fish. The whole situation made Braelynn feel incredibly awkward.
During this tense moment, the door of the private room was pushed open and a detestable voice could be heard, “Mom and Dad!”
Everyone turned their heads and saw Angel and Madelyn standing at the door.
Everyone couldn’t help feeling disgusted when they saw two of them.
Callum’s voice grew colder. “What are you doing here?”
“Mom, Dad, I heard that you were having lunch here, so I came to see you.” Angel looked pitiful.
“What’s there to see? Miss Floyd, you have been driven out of the Floyd family. and you should know very well that you are not related to us anymore. Don’t call us that when we meet in the future.”
Callum was speaking his feelings, but Angel and Madelyn thought that he was just angry.
It was so lucky for Angel to coincidentally bump into Callum and Emily, so it was obvious that she would not let go of this opportunity.
Angel ignored Callum and Emily’s attitude and quickly walked in. Then, she closed the door and knelt down. “Mom, Dad, I know I was wrong. Can you forgive me?”
Callum and Emily were not softhearted at all when they saw Angel kneeling on the ground while she pretended to be miserable. They were angry and resentful instead. “Get up and get out of here!”
“No! Mom, Dad, I’ll stay like this forever if you don’t forgive me! I’ll just continue kneeling here!” Angel was going to go all out.
Callum was furious as he reached out and pressed the bell to call the waiter. Madelyn immediately said, “Mr. Floyd, it’s not that Miss Floyd doesn’t want to listen to you. She really has no choice because her body condition doesn’t allow her to get rid of the child. She will become infertile if she has an abortion now!”
