Azalea hung up the phone and thought through the plan again. Needless to say, Josephine would do her best for the money.
And now, she needed to be sure of Michael’s movements to make it easier for Josephine to take action. First of all, she had to confirm Michael’s whereabouts. In addition to making sure of his location, she had to find a few other people to help her with something else.
Since Azalea was alone and unfamiliar with the place, she could not find anyone to help her. So she could only ask Meadow for help.
She glanced at the time. It was about five in the morning back in her country. It should not be too early to give Meadow a call.
So Azalea immediately dialed Meadow’s number. Meadow asked in a sleepy voice, “Azalea, what’s the matter?”
“Aunt Meadow, I met Josephine.”
“Who is Josephine?” Meadow was still half awake.
“Don’t you remember who Josephine is? She’s your best friend’s daughter. Wasn’t she interested in Michael at one point in time? She even tried to seduce him and caused Abbie and Michael to drift apart.”
Meadow finally recalled who she was. “It’s her? Didn’t she disappear for quite some time? How did you meet her?”
“When I went out for dinner today, she suddenly appeared and greeted me. I had initially run out of ideas. But when I saw her, I felt like things had taken a new turn.”
Meadow knew what Azalea meant. “Azalea, this sounds like heaven’s will. Have you thought of how to make use of her?”
“I’ve already convinced her. But persuading Josephine is not the most important thing. I need to know Michael’s location, and I need some helpers. Aunt Meadow, can you help me?”
The Davis family also had a company here. Meadow couldn’t help, but Wayne could. Meadow immediately agreed. “I’ll get Wayne to help you.”
Michael was frustrated as his marriage registration was interrupted by the sudden attack. After sending Abbie home, he also went back to his mansion.
He was dealing with various company affairs in the mansion alone. Later, around five in the evening, Wayne called him and asked about his situation.
After hanging up the phone, Michael felt a little hungry. Since Abbie was not around, he was not in the mood to cook. Hence, he picked up his coat and went out for dinner.
Michael drove to a nearby restaurant and stopped the car in the parking lot. As he got out of the car and walked to the restaurant, he sent a message to Abbie. “Have you had dinner?”
“No, I don’t feel like eating.”
“Why don’t you feel like eating? Are you unwell?” Michael asked worriedly.
“I’m not in the mood to eat. I still feel uneasy about what happened today.” Although Abbie seemed very bold, she was still a delicate young lady. She had never experienced such a thing before, so it was natural that she was afraid.
“Why don’t I accompany you to a doctor to get some counseling?”
“It’s fine. I’ll go to sleep first and see if I’ll feel better tomorrow.” After Abbie replied, she heard the sound of a wheelchair outside. She immediately told Micahel, “My mom is here. I have to go.”
Michael put away his phone and was about to enter the restaurant when suddenly, a woman rushed out and bumped into him.
The woman lost her balance and fell to the ground. Michael quickly reached out to help the woman. But before he could help her, he saw her face, and his countenance changed. “Josephine!”
The woman who fell to the ground had a painful expression. When she heard Michael’s voice, she looked up. After seeing Michael, Josephine quickly got up and tried to run. Michael stretched out his foot, causing Josephine to trip and fall to the ground again.
Although Josephine fell to the ground, Michael showed no sympathy. “Try running away again.”
Josephine didn’t intend to run in the first place as she was only acting so to convince Michael. She then knelt on the ground and begged, “Michael! Mr. Davis, please spare me!”
Michael looked coldly at the woman who was kneeling on the ground. Her hair was in a mess, and her face was covered with heavy makeup. Her clothes were so revealing, which made her look extremely disgusting.
Had he been blinded back then? How could he have thought of helping someone like her?  He was even deceived by her. If not for this damned woman causing them trouble, he and Abbie wouldn’t have ended up like this.
The more Michael thought about it, the angrier he became. He glared at Josephine and said, “Get up! I have something to ask you!”
Josephine got up from the ground with a frightened look. “Mr. Davis… I… I…”
Michael looked at her coldly. Josephine swallowed her words and followed Michael to the coffee shop next door.
Michael found a seat on the sides and sat down. He looked at Josephine coldly and said, “Tell me! What happened at that time? Why did you treat me like that?”
“I… I’m sorry! I’m really sorry! I was blinded by my greed!” Josephine lowered her head and began to cry.
Michael remained unmoved. “Tell me exactly what you did at the time. If you hide anything, I will not spare you!”
“I… I didn’t mean to do what I did. I needed money. Natasya gave me a sum of money and asked me to follow her requests. I agreed for the sake of the money. I deserve to die!” Josephine wept profusely.
Michael’s eyes were cold. “Natasya was the one who instructed you? Why?”
“According to Natasya, there was a grudge between Ms. Clark and her. She hated Ms. Clark for looking down on her. Every time there was a party, Ms. Clark gave her the cold shoulder, teased her, or embarrassed her. She was so angry that she wanted to take revenge on Ms. Clark and teach her a lesson.”
“So she asked you for help and you agreed?”
Josephine wiped her tears and said, “I didn’t want to, but Natasya gave me a sum of money. I desperately needed the money back then! Natasya knew the situation I was in, so she kept enticing me. I couldn’t stand the temptation and give in to her! Mr. Davis, I didn’t do anything to you. You are innocent!”
For the sake of two million dollars, Josephine had schemed against Michael. He was so angry that he poured water on Josephine’s head. “Do you consider yourself a human being? You’re such a shameless ungrateful wretch! How dare you frame me for the sake of money! Have you lost your conscience?”
“I’m sorry! Mr. Davis, I know I was wrong!” Josephine knelt on the ground again.
Michael sneered. What could an apology change? Because of this shameless woman, he was separated from Abbie for so long. He has been carrying the shameful charge of cheating and was unable to hold his head up high in front of Richard.
Michael was so angry that he grabbed Josephine’s neck. “I’ll kill you, you crazy bitch!”
