Veronica’s face turned pale. This message must be sent by that person. When she went to buy the drugs, she had done it in secret, and she made sure that there was no one following her. How did the person find out about what she did?
Was he trying to trick her? Veronica thought as the second message came in. “The purpose of the drugs you bought is to kill Ornard’s fertility so that he can’t have sons, right? Don’t you think that this is a waste of time?”
The other party clearly knew her goal. Veronica gritted her teeth and went all out. “I’ve asked the doctor. This is the best drug to use, and it’s undetectable.”
“It’s undetectable? Haha. Do you think Ornard would drink the soup if you make it for him every day? What would you do if he didn’t drink it one day? Would you force him? Even if Ornard drinks it all, there is still a downside to this method. Ornard is not a fool. If he realizes that he is infertile, you would be his first suspect. You can carry on with this plan if you don’t want to live. But, if wished to continue living, you have to reconsider the plan.”
What the other party mentioned was also something that Veronica was worried about. She didn’t want to die and wanted to live on desperately. “Then what do you think I should do? Can you find a more reliable drug for me?”
“Of course! There is nothing in this world that I can’t do.”
“What do you need?”
“I only want you to do one thing for me, and it’s pretty easy. Get Ornard’s help to file your divorce lawsuit against Callum.”
“That’s it?”
“Yes! That’s it! You must convince Ornard to help you file a divorce lawsuit. I will let you know the details about it later on.”
“No problem!” Veronica already wanted to use Ornard to file a divorce lawsuit for her, so she agreed to it immediately.
She had suspected before that this unknown person was associated with Callum. But since he requested for her to file a divorce lawsuit against Callum, she gave up on that thought.
If the other party was associated with Callum, he would never ask her to file a divorce lawsuit against Callum. He would threaten her with her weaknesses to leave the marriage with nothing instead.
As long as the other party was not from the Floyd family, there was nothing that Veronica was afraid of. She immediately asked, “When can I get the drug?”
“As long as you want it, you can get it any time.”
“I want it now!”
“Then go home. I will tell you where the drug is after you reach home.”
Veronica immediately drove back to Ornard’s mansion. After parking the car, a message came in. “Go to the mailbox to get what you want.”
Veronica got out of the car and went straight to the mailbox. She then took out a parcel from it and went back to her room.
After she locked the door, she opened the parcel. Inside it was a few packets of white powder.
Was this the drug that the mysterious man wanted to give her? Would this drug make Ornard infertile?
Veronica didn’t fully believe it. If this drug was poison and Ornard died after ingesting it, won’t she become the primary culprit?
Veronica felt she needed to test the drug before making a decision. She then found some cat food and mixed in some powder before giving it to a stray cat.
There was no reaction from the stray cat, and it was well alive. Veronica was then assured that the drug was not fatal.
The powder was not poisonous, and it was colorless and tasteless. Veronica would be able to achieve her goal if she mixed the powder into the supplements Ornard took daily.
Less than an hour after Azalea and Josephine went their separate ways, Josephine called her. “Ms. Clark, I’ve found someone to recover those things!”
As Azalea expected, Josephine was pretty eager. It was easy to manipulate a woman who would do anything for money.
Azalea had thought that there was nothing she could do anymore. But Josephine appeared in time, and it seemed like the heavens were on her side.
Azalea naturally would not let go of such a great opportunity. She needed to make adjustments to her plan.
Azalea chuckled. “Aren’t you pretty eager? You didn’t miss out on anything, and it should be the same as before, is it?”
“Yes, I didn’t miss anything! What should I do next, Ms. Clark?”
Azalea had a sinister smile on her face. “The next thing you have to do is see Michael.”
Josephine was shocked. “Ms. Clark, I can’t see Michael. What I did back then… Michael would surely kill me if he sees me. I cannot meet him!”
“Don’t worry. Michael won’t kill you. He has been looking for you all these years. He wants you to help testify for him about what happened back then. Michael will be pretty happy to see you, and he will treat you well. You will get a sum of money from Michael, and I will give you a sum as well. This deal is pretty generous to you. The only condition is that you have to do what I say.”
“How much will you give me, Ms. Clark?” Josephine probed.
“If you can complete this task well, I will give you three times more the money from before.”
“Really?” Three times more than the previous amount meant that it would be six million dollars. Josephine desperately needed money, and her desperation compelled her to take the risk.
“Ms. Clark, do I only need to meet Michael?”
“After you meet with Michael, go and look for the other Ms. Clark, and do to her what you did a few years ago. Oh right, do you still remember that Ms. Clark?”
“I do! I remember that Ms. Clark. But where am I going to find her? What am I going to say to her? Give her the things I’ve recovered?”
“I have a few other instructions for you before you meet Ms. Clark. But before that, I have a gift for you. I would also give you a front-up payment right after you meet with Michael. As for the rest of the payment, I will give it to you after you follow my request and meet with Ms. Clark.” Azalea knew very well how to manipulate a person desperate for money.
When Josephine heard that she could get the payment immediately, she couldn’t wait. “Thank you Ms. Clark! When can I go and see Michael?”
“If you are ready, you can go and see Michael any time. Do you know how to act when you see Michael? I would create an opportunity for you to meet him. “Okay, I’ve got it!” Josephine promised. As she had made her way through society for so many years, she wasn’t a fool. Azalea had requested her to do this because she wanted to take a shot at Abbie.
Since Josephine has done this before, as long as she could earn money, she had no reason to turn this down.
Besides, she heard from Azalea that Michael desperately wanted her to testify about what happened back then. Since it was beneficial for Michael, he surely wouldn’t harm her. She would only need to ask for his forgiveness drastically. If Michael were willing to forgive her, she would have a chance to earn some money.
After earning money, she could run away and disappear like before. No one would be able to find her then.
