Abbie was absolutely livid. Could Michael really get back together with Azalea to help his family’s business as Meadow had said?
However, Valeria had already made it clear that Azalea was not Callum’s real daughter at all. In that case, how could she have the ability to persuade the Floyd family to help her?
Abbie was so anxious and she desperately wanted to figure it out. If Michael didn’t answer the phone, she would go to his house to see what was going on.
Abbie drove to his house immediately, but his villa was dimly lit and there was no sign of him coming back.
Abbie sat in the car and called Michael, but his phone was still turned off.
Abbie tried her best to convince herself that perhaps it was because his phone had run out of battery. She was planning to wait for him since she was already here, and it was impossible for Michael not to go home.
Azalea quietly stole Michael’s phone when he helped her get in the car.
Azalea went for a check-up for her feet in the hospital. Since Michael could not leave immediately, he stood outside and waited with Callum.
Azalea immediately turned off Michael’s phone when Abbie called. There was no problem with Azalea’s feet at all, but she bribed the doctor with a huge sum of money and said in a low voice, “Please tell them that my foot is seriously injured!”
The doctor immediately agreed after he saw such a huge sum of money. Since it was just a small matter, he pretended to apply medicine to Azalea’s wound and came out to tell Callum and Michael, “Her ankle is seriously sprained, so she needs to take a good rest and recuperate.”
Callum was worried when he thought that Azalea was really badly injured. He asked the doctor a few more questions, but Michael didn’t care at all and he just wanted to leave immediately. Azalea observed the scene coldly and naturally saw that Michael wanted to leave.
Michael must want to see Abbie, right? How could Azalea possibly let him do that?
She limped out and pretended to fumble around after she got into the car. “Hey! My cell phone! Where is it?”
As soon as she said this, Michael reached out to touch his pocket and found that his phone was gone as well.
He was shocked. “My cell phone is gone!”
Callum was surprised. “What? When did it disappear?”
“Let me think about it!” Michael thought about it carefully. His phone was placed on the table when he was having a discussion with Callum, but he couldn’t remember if he had taken his phone when he left “I can’t remember. Maybe it was left in the hotel.”
“You’d better hurry back to the hotel and have a look. I’ll take you there.”
When Callum sent Michael to the hotel, he hurriedly got out of the car and went into the hotel to look for his phone. Callum followed him in, but Azalea had no choice to stay in the car because of her fake injury.
There were no outsiders in the car. After Azalea took out Michael’s phone and turned it on, she deleted all of Abbie’s calls and threw it into the crack of the car seat.
She then took out her mobile phone and sent a message to Meadow. “Auntie, remember to ask Michael to go to the hospital later. Don’t let Abbie see Michael tonight.”
Meadow immediately agreed. “Got it. I’ll get Wayne to call him.”
Michael and Callum went to the private room to find the phone. They even asked the manager and waiters, but all of them hadn’t seen Michael’s phone.
This was a very exclusive hotel and the waiters were all well-trained. It was impossible for them to steal his phone, so where did it go?
The manager even asked someone to retrieve the surveillance video to prove their innocence. Then, they found that Michael had left with his mobile phone in his after they watched the footage.
Michael and Callum looked at each other when they saw that Michael had actually left with his mobile phone. By this time, more than an hour had passed. Azalea got injured as soon as they walked out, so Callum said, “Did your phone fall out of the car?”
“It’s possible. I should look for it in the car.” The two of them then went back to the car and searched for the phone. Then, Callum dialed Michael’s number and heard a ringtone from under the seat.
Michael breathed a sigh of relief after he found his phone and got into his car after saying goodbye to Callum.
He was about to drive to Abbie’s place when Wayne called him. “Michael, come to the hospital and tell me about the meeting tonight.”
Michael had no choice but to go to the hospital again.
Abbie waited in the car at the gate of Michael’s villa for several hours, but he still didn’t come back and this made her extremely upset.
She took out her phone and browsed the news to kill time when she unexpectedly saw news of Michael and Azalea.
The news contained a photo of Michael and Azalea hugging each other at the door of the hotel. The content of the article said that the Davis family was going to cooperate with the Floyd family, which emphasized that Azalea was now Callum’s goddaughter. They also said that the Floyd family was willing to support the Davis family for Azalea’s sake.
Abbie was in a very bad mood after she read the news. It turned out that Meadow wasn’t the only one making up stories and many people knew about it at all. In the end, she was the only one who was kept in the dark.
Abbie saw Michael was holding Azalea in his arms with her own eyes. To make matters worse, Meadow called and provoked her as well. It was easy to imagine how Abbie would feel when she read such news.
She felt anger coursing through her veins. She had to find Michael and ask him about it.
Abbie called Michael angrily again. This time, the phone was connected and Michael had just arrived at the hospital. He picked up Abbie’s phone and asked gently, “What’s the matter?”
“Can’t I call you for the sake of it?” Abbie asked with a sneer.
“What’s wrong? Who made you angry?” Michael could hear that Abbie was upset.
“Are you playing dumb? Michael, why didn’t you answer my calls just now? I called you several times, but why didn’t you answer it? Why did you turn off your phone?”
Michael was confused. “Well, I didn’t turn off my phone and I didn’t reject your calls either.”
“Are you still putting up an act with me?” Abbie was so angry that her voice changed. “I’m pretty sure your phone will display my missed calls!”
“Abbie, I really didn’t receive your calls. Let me check my call logs.” Michael immediately went to check the records. He had a few missed calls, but none of them was from Abbie. “Abbie, I really didn’t receive any calls from you.”
Abbie thought that Michael was pretending to be confused. “Was I hallucinating then? You didn’t answer the first call and you turned off your phone when I called you again. Why don’t you tell me why you turned it off? Are you afraid that I will disturb you?”
Michael felt extremely wronged. “Why would you disturb me? I didn’t turn off my phone at all and it has always been on.”
“Alright, then I guess I was mistaken and I really didn’t call you! Then let me ask you, what’s with the news tonight? Are you really going to marry Azalea?”
