William sat down and said, “Thank you!”
“Why are you so being so polite?” Braelynn took the initiative to put some food on William’s plate. “I heard from Richard that Angel is pregnant? Is that true?”
“Yes!” William also put some food into Braelynn’s bowl. “You should eat more as well!”
“The Floyd family doesn’t know that Angel is pregnant, right? When are you going to expose her? I’m a little worried that the Floyd family will blame you.”
“Don’t worry, they won’t. Not only will they not blame me, but they will also thank me.”
“Isn’t that impossible? I think Deborah is a little unreasonable and she has always been protecting Angel. The reason why Angel is so shameless is because she is used to being spoilt. Fandrey and Callum are better, but Angel’s pregnancy is not a small matter. No matter how good the Floyd family is, they will not tolerate such a thing.”
William smiled and said when he saw Braelynn’s worried look, “It’s okay. It’s not a big deal. You should eat first because I have something to tell you after this meal.”
“Okay!” Braelynn nodded.
The waiter came in with the best tea available after the two of them finished their meal. William took a sip of tea and looked at Braelynn, who was staring at him, and said, “Braelynn, do you want to see your real parents?”
“No!” Braelynn shook his head.
“Why not?”
“Because my father has been very kind to me and he took good care of me since I was a child. He is my blessing and I’m happy to have him as my father in this life. I don’t have any desire to meet my biological parents.”
William was naturally well aware of Braelynn’s love for Lamont, so he sighed and said, “I know that you owe Lamont a lot because he raised you and it’s reasonable that you don’t care about your parents, but they have always been thinking about you.”
Braelynn was surprised. “William, did you manage to find my biological parents? How did you do that?”
“I happened to find out some information about your biological parents and I thought about it for some time. I wanted to tell you today and let you meet your real family.”
“Didn’t they abandon me by the roadside when I was born? Since that’s the case, why do they want to see me?” Braelynn rejected William directly.
“It’s not that they didn’t want you, but something else happened that time. I know that you have resentment in your heart, but the incident about your birth that year is a bit complicated. Your parents still don’t know that you were abandoned.”
“What do you mean? They weren’t the ones that abandoned me?”
“Of course not. Someone else who stole you from your parents. Speaking of which, your parents are actually very pitiful because they are victims as well. They have raised an outsider’s child for so many years, but their own child had been abandoned. If they knew the truth, their hearts would definitely be broken.”
William meant that her biological parents didn’t know about her existence. Braelynn was silent for a while and said, “Since you can tell me about this personally, my parents must be extraordinary, right? Who are they?”
“Your father is my uncle, Callum, and your mother is Emily. You are my cousin!”
“This…” Braelynn looked at William in astonishment.
William reached out and patted her on the shoulder. “I was extremely shocked when I came to know about this. Ornard and Veronica were the culprits behind this. In order to get the Floyd family’s property, Ornard ordered his subordinates to replace you with his own daughter. My grandfather and uncle have been kept in the dark until I realized that Emily acted strangely towards Angel. I arranged for someone to do a DNA test and slowly uncovered the truth.”
“This… Angel is Ornard’s daughter? He’s too vicious!”
“Yes, he planned all this from the very beginning. Fortunately, fate was on your side and you managed to survive. I only told my grandfather about your identity, but my uncle and grandma were still kept in the dark. Braelynn, my grandfather especially wants to see you after he knew about it. What do you think?”
Braelynn fell silent. She didn’t have a good impression of the Floyd family, so she naturally didn’t want to see Fandrey.
William saw Braelynn’s unwillingness and said, “You don’t have to see him for the time being you don’t want to. I’ll tell my grandfather when you think it through and I’ll arrange for you to meet him by then. What do you think?”
Braelynn knew that William was doing this for her sake, so she couldn’t ignore him. “I’ll follow your arrangement and meet him whenever you want me to!”
William reached out and patted her head. “Good girl. I know you feel wronged now, but you can openly enter the Floyd family once I deal with Ornard and the rest of his lackeys!”
William’s words made Braelynn tear up and he took out a tissue to wipe her tears when he saw this.
“Don’t cry. You got through the most challenging period of your life and you achieved all this by yourself. You are the best and all of us are proud of you!”
It was fine if William didn’t praise her, but she wanted to cry even more after he said that. She couldn’t help but reach out and hug William. “William, stop talking! I’m going to cry if you continue!”
“You can cry because you’ve been wronged and humiliated. You’ve suffered all these years!”
Braelynn’s tears made William’s clothe went and she sobbed and said, “I don’t want to be the eldest daughter of the Floyd family. For me, it’s enough to have a father like Lamont, a brother like you, Valeria, and other people who care about me.”
Azalea woke up at noon and she was in pain the moment she regained consciousness. She cried out in pain and she heard Emily’s familiar voice. “Azalea! Are you awake?”
“Auntie!” Azalea opened her eyes and said in a hoarse voice as she looked at Emily, whose eyes were red. Callum was standing next to Emily and his eyes were filled with concern.
Azalea sobbed as soon as she saw Emily and Callum. Emily quickly wiped her tears. “Don’t cry! Are you in pain? I’ll call a doctor for you!”
Azalea’s entire body was sore and she sobbed so hard that she couldn’t breathe. Callum then called a doctor over to help her with the examination, which took a long time to complete.
Callum felt extremely disgusted when he looked at Azalea crying while her face was covered in tears and snot.
He didn’t know why he felt disgusted. Logically speaking, Azalea was his daughter with Emily, so he should feel heartache and anger when he saw his daughter suffer. However, he didn’t feel any of that when Azalea was crying and he only felt disgusted.
This was not how a father should feel towards their daughter. Callum didn’t want others to see his annoyance, but he couldn’t say anything to Azalea. However, he really didn’t want to force himself to express his feelings.
Deborah called him at this moment. Callum felt relieved after he heard the tone and went outside to answer it.
