Azalea was found by the police and sent to the hospital early in the morning while the two kidnappers were taken away by the police.
Emily, Callum, and Deborah all rushed to Azalea’s ward when they heard that she had been found.
Azalea closed her eyes and fell asleep on the bed after the wounds were bandaged. Deborah didn’t know that Azalea’s finger had been cut off, so she heaved a sigh of relief when she saw Azalea safe and sound. “I’m so thankful she’s alright!”
Emily held Azalea’s hand carefully with red eyes and tears kept rolling down her cheeks. Deborah noticed and immediately asked, “What’s wrong with her hand? Is it hurt?”
Emily was choked with sobs while Callum’s eyes were red and he didn’t answer. The nurse next to him heard Deborah’s question and answered, “Her finger was cut off!”
“What? Her finger is gone? How… how could this be?” Deborah’s heart ached and she kept complaining, “What about William? Didn’t they say that she would be unscathed? What’s this? How can this be?”
“Mom, William didn’t expect such a thing to happen. It’s a miracle that she’s back!” Callum knew that he couldn’t blame William for such an accident.
“She’s a girl. Isn’t she crippled if she loses her finger? What would happen to her in the future?” Deborah had just found her granddaughter, so how could she be okay when she realized that Azalea was missing a finger?
“Have you found her finger that was cut off? Can it be reattached?”
“Yes, but the doctor said that there is no way to reattach it because too much time has passed.”
“Is there no other way? Why don’t we ask William for help? Isn’t he very capable? Can he ask the doctor if there is any other solution?”
“Who do you think William is? Do you think he can solve everything?” Fandrey walked in and said.
“No! Didn’t William say that Azalea was not hurt at all? That’s too…”
Fandrey frowned and said, “If it weren’t for the fact that William could find her in time, she might not even survive. It doesn’t matter if she loses a finger as long as she’s alive. Also, you should control yourself and complain less. William doesn’t owe our family anything and he helped to save Azalea generously. How can you complain about him like this? What would you think if you were in his shoes?”
Deborah felt a little aggrieved when Fandrey said this. “I’m not complaining about William, but I just feel so upset! Don’t you feel sorry for Azalea when you see her like this? Our granddaughter has been wandering around for so many years and she has suffered so much. She’s really pitiful!”
Fandrey’s attitude was very cold. “Can you change anything just because you’re upset? This is her fate and she has to accept it!”
Fandrey’s words made Deborah stunned for a moment because he had never been such a cold person. Fandrey was still so worried and anxious yesterday, so how could he be so indifferent after Azalea was found? She was shocked.
Deborah glanced at Emily, who was crying silently in front of Azalea’s bed and she suddenly became angry. “It’s all her fault! If she hadn’t done such a thing to get revenge on our family, our granddaughter wouldn’t have suffered today!”
“Mom! It’s not Emily’s fault!” Callum chimed in.
“How could it not be? I have always known that she is not a good person and she is extremely scheming. She even tried her best to get close to your sister because she wanted to marry you. She even introduced Hayden to your sister after she seduced you. As a result, your sister passed away when she was so young. This woman is a jinx who has deliberately harmed our family!”
“Can you just keep quiet!?” Fandrey shouted.
Deborah had never been yelled at like this by Fandrey, so she didn’t speak for a moment.
Fandrey’s face darkened. “I’ll arrange for two servants to watch over this place. Go home first!”
“I want to watch over Azalea and wit till she wakes up!” Deborah refused.
“Didn’t you hear me when I asked you to go home?” Fandrey was furious. “What’s the use of you staying here? Can you even take care of her? Go home immediately and don’t cause any more trouble here!”
“Why are you being so fierce to me? You’re so unreasonable!” Deborah was extremely aggrieved.
Fandrey ordered irritably, “Come, send Madam home!”
Fandrey had arranged for someone to send Deborah away and he sighed when he saw Emily crying silently in front of the hospital bed. He was no longer dissatisfied with Emily after he knew the truth.
When he thought of the whole incident, Emily was actually a victim as well. If it weren’t for the fact that he and Deborah insisted that Callum marry Veronica things wouldn’t have turned out this way. Fandrey told Callum, “She’s tired! Take her away and let her rest!”
Callum shook his head. “She doesn’t want to leave! After what happened, she can’t bring herself to go…”
“Okay, it’s up to you. I’ll go first!”
Callum was a little surprised when he saw that Fandrey was about to leave. “Dad, don’t you want to wait for Azalea to wake up?”
“I’m old and I’ve been on my toes for the night. I don’t have much energy left, so both of you can stay here and just call me if you need anything!” Fandrey turned and left the ward.
He was not a saint and Azalea had nothing to do with the Floyd family, so how could he be in the mood to play along with her act? What Fandrey needed most now was to see his real granddaughter.
Lucian had been resting at home and thinking hard for the past few days. She had been hesitating whether she should tell expose the truth about her relationship with Gurmisran.
It was not a big deal to talk about their relationship, but what Lucian feared the most was Braelynn.
William would definitely find out Braelynn’s identity as long as Lucian exposed her past relationship with Gurmisran.
If that happened, the truth that she had swapped Braelynn at birth would be exposed. Braelynn had always treated Lucian as her real mother all these years. What would Braelynn think if she knew that Lucian had done such a nasty thing?
Her relationship with Braelynn would end abruptly, right?
Not only would Braelynn be distant from her, but William wouldn’t forgive her as well. Lucian was very nervous when she thought of the consequence she had to face.
She finally made up her mind after she suffered like this for more than a week.
It was true that she had done something wrong that year, but she had to take responsibility for her mistakes. Otherwise, it would be too torturous for her to hide like this her whole life.
Lucian asked Braelynn for William’s phone number and took the initiative to call him. “William, I’m Lucian. I have something important to tell you. Can you find time to meet me? It’s really very important!”
Lucian couldn’t sit still and took the initiative to call William, but he was not interested in what she had to say. After all, not only did he know about the things that Lucian wanted to tell him, but he knew the truth about things that even she was unaware of.
However, William gave Lucian a chance when he saw that she wanted to correct her wrongdoings. “Okay, let’s meet at noon today!”
