Helen shook her head and said, “I don’t know!”
“Let me show you the video,” Azalea then took out her mobile phone and showed Helen the said footage. Helen was taken aback upon seeing the video of Angel falling to the ground with a miserable look on her face. She asked as she had a good impression of Angel, “Who had spread this footage out to the public?”
“I have no idea how it got out. I reckon that this matter may have something to do with Braelynn.”
“How is this related to her? Braelynn has a gentle personality and she doesn’t seem to be the kind of person who could do such a thing. Azalea, it is unwise for you to badmouth others.”
“I am not spewing nonsense. Helen, you do not know Braelynn well, don’t you? She is actually a pretentious person. She is well-behaved in the presence of senior members and would be very polite. However, she is very cold-hearted without the absence of a public spotlight. Helen, she even went rough on me last time.”
“Are you sure about that? Why did she hit you?”
Azalea began to lie through her teeth, “I had accidentally run into her on my way to enjoy a meal and she started scolding me non-stop. She cussed and even hit me and I initially wanted to hire a lawyer to sue her. However, I eventually let her off the hook as she had requested Valeria to help her out. It is as clear as day that Braelynn is a cunning and evil person. She is fond of Richard and does Angel. How vicious of her to ruin the reputation of Angel.”
“Angel is also attracted towards Richard? How did you know about it?” Helen questioned.
“I am just making a guess. The gaze of Angel would be blazing with excitement upon seeing Richard.”
“What? It is impolite to make a baseless opinion. This would have a negative impact on Angel’s reputation, okay?”
“I am well aware of that and I am just giving you a heads up that’s all. Helen, let us assume that Angel has indeed fallen head over heels towards Richard. Would you give them your blessing of them becoming a couple? I do not see any negative points of Angel’s behavior. She is smart, kind, and has a caring personality. I think she would be a good match with Richard.”
Helen was feeling neutral towards Angel and said, “It is always best to go with the flow when it comes to romantic relationships. Richard himself needs to adore his future partner and I cannot make this decision for him.”
“You have a solid point. However, it is best to check for compatibility in making relationships work, isn’t it? The Floyd family has an only daughter. We shall make an assumption that Richard and Angel are indeed a couple. This is an indication that the wealth and fortune of the Floyd family would belong to Richard in the future, right?”
“Don’t spew nonsense! We are not interested in the prosperity of others. We are contented with the things that the Clark family currently have.”
“I am just giving you an example that’s all. The Clark family would prosper further should they become a married couple. Helen, Angel is truthfully a very kind person. She is the most down-to-earth person among the daughters of wealthy families that I have ever met.”
“Hmm, Angel does look rather friendly.” Helen did not want to talk about this topic further and said, “Alright, it is now shopping time. Let’s go!”
Azalea was very disappointed upon seeing the disinterested look on Helen’s face upon mentioning Angel.
She had tried her best. Hence, it was up to Angel in putting on a brilliant act later.
Azalea accompanied Helen to the shopping mall located in the city center. The two of them strolled around the shopping mall for two hours before heading to the coffee shop on the top floor.
They then coincidentally met with Angel and Deborah, who had been lingering at the coffee shop for quite a while. Angel swiftly stood up and greeted upon noticing the presence of Helen and Azalea.
Helen smiled and headed towards Deborah to greet her. The four of them then sat down and began chatting.
They were in a friendly conversation for a while. Helen then offered to invite Deborah and Angel to have a meal together later.
Deborah had gladly accepted the request as she needed to lend Angel a helping hand. The four of them soon left the coffee shop and headed towards the restaurant.
Helen decided in treating them to dinner at a private restaurant. Angel had been busy serving food to Helen’s plate with the cutleries available. She also put on a pretentious smile just to get onto Helen’s good side.
Helen was not aware of her scandals. She was instead feeling very fond of Angel being very attentive towards her. “Angel is indeed a sensible and polite person.”
“That is not the truth at all. You have no idea what a troublemaker she is at home. She is a real pain in the neck,” Deborah grinned while replying.
“It looks like the children are all similar. Abbie has the same personality as her. She would make a fuss both in and out of the household. Angel is much more mature than my daughter.”
“Miss Clark is a kind person and I am very fond of her personality,” Deborah was trying to be polite in praising Abbie.
“What is that great about her attitude? She would always get into a misunderstanding with others. She does not listen to my advice and refuses to go shopping with me. Angel is different than her who would head out to spend time with you. I will be contented if Abbie has half of the patience of your granddaughter!”
Angel smiled shyly and said, “You are welcome to contact me if you don’t mind my presence. I will always have the time to go shopping with you.”
“That is great! There is no excuse for you to reject my offer when I contact you in the future then,” Helen was going with the flow as Angel had extended her invitation in such a manner.
“Of course!”
Azalea chimed in and said, “Helen, you are very fond of Angel and the both of you are very friendly with each other during the first encounter. Hence, you should make a request to Deborah in deeming Angel as her future granddaughter-in-law. Angel would then be able to hang out with you every day.”
Helen froze upon hearing her reply. It did not feel right to give a definite answer to this statement. She squeezed out a forceful smile and said, “I am just afraid that the Clark family would not be good enough for them!”
Azalea swiftly replied, “Richard is a talented person with a famous reputation. He has managed to achieve so much despite his young age. He and Angel are compatible in terms of family background, capability, and appearance. Deborah, you would agree with my statement, wouldn’t you?”
It was time for Deborah to voice her opinion out as Azalea had phrased her sentence in such a manner. “May I know whether Mr. Clark is currently seeing someone?”
Helen would not take Azalea’s words seriously but things were different when it came to Deborah. Was this an indication of Deborah trying to matchmake Richard and Angel?
Helen was taken aback but she managed to let out a grin and replied, “I do not put much effort in knowing about his private matters. Hence, I am not sure whether he has a girlfriend or not.”
“I would like to let you know that Angel is currently single. It would be nice if the both of them can get to know each other and go to the next level if Mr. Clark is currently not dating someone else. Mrs. Clark, what do you think?” Deborah was trying to be humble for the sake of Angel.
“I have no problem with that!” Helen was forced to agree on this idea as Deborah had voiced her opinion out. It would be inappropriate for Helen to not go with the flow.
They had finally come to a pleasant agreement regarding this topic. Angel was extremely happy about this matter. On the other hand, Helen was just putting on an act to be delighted about it.
Azalea was not aware that Helen was feeling moody upon their way back home after having dinner. She was still feeling excited about it and congratulated Helen, “It seems that the Floyd family is very fond of Richard. Helen, we can now just sit back and wait for their wedding treats, right?”
Azalea was not the biological daughter of Helen after all. Hence, Helen did not share her feelings despite being uncomfortable about it. “We shall leave things to fate! I would now like to make a trip to Abbie’s place. Azalea, you should head back home first.”
Helen gave Jamison a call after sending Azalea off, “Honey, I have met with Deborah during the day and we had dinner together just now. She suggested letting Richard and Angel date each other. What do you think?”
“Did you agree?” Donald asked.
“I had to that’s for sure. It would be awkward for me to refuse her proposal during that situation.”
“We should not meddle into Richard’s private matter and we have to respect his opinion. However, the Floyd family is indeed a good candidate to have a marriage for business purposes.” Donald did not view it as an unpleasant matter as he was a businessman after all. “Let them get to know each other first then!”
“However, I reckon that Richard seems to be very close with Braelynn…”
“There is no sure pass for Braelynn to be his future wife even if they are comfortable with each other. Let us go with the flow! We shall see who would Richard eventually prefer.”
“Shouln’t we give Richard a heads up about this matter?”
“You need not worry as I will tell him about it. You shall just keep a close eye on Abbie that’s all.”
Helen no longer felt troubled upon hearing his reply. She then instructed her driver to rush towards Abbie’s company.
