Richard did not expect her to be aware of this matter. He was rather embarrassed as Braelynn had questioned him in a blatant manner. “How did you know about it?”
Braelynn scoffed and said, “I have accidentally seen it when I was scrolling my newsfeed that’s for sure. I have already been suspicious of you at that time and you are indeed one of a kind. Why would you make a huge fuss over an unworthy person like her? How is William able to explain himself to his grandparents?”
“I told William about it and he did not object to this idea of mine.”
“Excuse me, it is as clear as day that he does not know how to politely deny your plan. Don’t you know how awkward he is when both Fandrey and Deborah have been keeping an eye on him?”
She criticized Richard further, “I came to notice that the video had been suppressed later on. The Floyd family must be the one behind it, right? You shall wait and see how things would turn out. Fandrey and Deborah would definitely complain to William upon his arrival at the country.”
“You need not worry about it as William is a quick-witted person. He knows how to deal with them accordingly.”
“It’s easy for you to say.” Braelynn then picked up her mobile phone and browsed through the website in which Angel’s footage was being published there at noon. She let out a cry and asked, “Why is this video being posted once again?”
“It is not the same video that you have seen during the day as this footage has been edited. I have instructed my men to publish the complete video at noon. However, the current footage only showcases the scene of Angel falling to the ground miserably.”
“Are you serious? Who would be that lame in doing such a thing?” Braelynn clicked on the video and watched it. “Why do I sense a hint of conspiracy? Could it be possible that the video at noon was not being suppressed by the Floyd family at all?”
“Why would you have that point of view?”
“Do have a think about it. The footage at noon had showcased Angel’s sneaky behavior of eavesdropping. On the other hand, the latest video had only published Angel tripping to the ground in a dejected state. What would you think upon watching both videos if you were the family member of the Floyd family?”
Richard pondered for a moment and replied, “I will think that Angel deserves it if I watched the raw video that was published at noon. I will also feel embarrassed by her behavior to listen in to others. However, I will feel suspicious that someone is intentionally targeting Angel if I were to watch the current edited video.”
Richard finally came to his senses after he had finished speaking. “Is this an indication that someone must be planning to utilize this video in causing a scene?”
Braelynn nodded and said, “I do think that the situation is currently like this. You have to find a way to deal with this mess.”
“I know what to do.” Richard sneered and took out his mobile phone to send a message to his assistant, “Do send a complete video to Fandrey, the grandfather of the Floyd family.”
“Are you really planning to do things in such a straightforward manner?” Braelynn was stunned.
“What else should I do then? I can’t think of anyone who would do such a thing except Angel. Hence, I shall make her wish come true!”
Angel had been waiting in her room for a few hours and finally saw the video that Ornard had edited.
She was trying to have an emotional build-up. She planned to cry her lungs out while getting ahold of Deborah but there were no tears flowing down. She then sprayed some strong perfume on her eyes and rubbed them hard. Her eyes were soon red and swollen before she headed downstairs to find Deborah tearfully. “Grandma! Sob…”
“What happened to you? Does the wound hurts a lot?” Deborah initially thought that Angel was balling her eyes out as the injured spot on her forehead was utterly painful.
“No… Grandma, you have to help me out! This is utterly a bully’s act!” Angel cried as she switched on the video that Ornard had edited before showing it to Deborah.
Deborah was fuming with anger upon watching the video of Angel falling miserably to the ground. “What is going on? Who had published this video?”
“I don’t know! Richard and Braelynn were the only ones there when I had passed out just now. There is no incentive for Richard to ruin my reputation as he is friends with William. It could only be Braelynn then. She must be the one who did this to me.”
“Braelynn? Why would she do this to you?”
“Braelynn has always been a hater towards me. Have you forgotten that she had once hit me in the past? By the way, she and Abbie even randomly scolded me that day…”
Angel wiped her tears and continued speaking, “Grandma, Braelynn has been giving me a hard time all this while and I fell down because of her. She intentionally caused me to trip and make a fool out of myself. She even published the video online. How cunning of her! She is not just merely making things difficult for me. She is trying to bring shame towards the entire Floyd family, isn’t she?”
Deborah was already not a fan of Braelynn from the very beginning. Her impression of Braelynn increasingly went downhill upon hearing Angel’s story. “Braelynn has indeed crossed the line! I shall tell your grandpa to suppress the video from spreading further as starters. We should also not let Braelynn off the hook as she has bullied you several times. Who does she think she is? The precious granddaughter of the Floyd family should not be simply messed around, right?”
Fandrey had coincidentally returned back home alongside Sammuel as soon as Deborah finished speaking. Deborah immediately told Fandrey about the video. She added fuel to the fire by saying that Braelynn was the one who had been messing with Angel. She proposed to Fandrey in teaching Braelynn a lesson.
Fandrey finished listening to her words with an indifferent look on his face. He then glanced towards Angel and asked, “Where is the video? Let me have a look!”
Deborah swiftly launched the video and handed it over to him. Fandrey sneered after watching it and said, “What a coincidence! I have just received a video not long ago and it is similar to this. I shall let the both of you view it as well!”
Fandrey spoke while taking his phone out to show them the video. He had the unedited version of the raw footage. Deborah had a perplexed look on her face upon watching Angel sneakily eavesdropping at the door of a private room.
She looked at Angel and asked, “What on earth is going on?”
“I… I…” Angel stammered and was unable to form a complete sentence.
“This is utterly ridiculous!” Fandrey scoffed and got up from his seat before heading towards the study room. Deborah had a stern look on her face and said, “You have to explain yourself regarding this matter!”
Angel’s face was as pale as a ghost. She finally spoke after stuttering for a long time, “Yes, I shall admit that I have tried to listen in on them. I am not innocent in this matter. However, don’t you think that Braelynn is utterly cunning and vicious? She is trying to torture me to death for the sake of Richard!”
“Why is this incident related to Richard once again?”
“I have feelings towards Richard and Braelynn is aware of it. She also happens to be very fond of him. She has been giving me a hard time just to win Richard over. The reason for her publishing the video online is to embarrass me and ruin my reputation!” Deborah frowned upon hearing Angel sharing her feelings out of being attracted towards Richard.
Deborah had discussed the matter regarding Angel and Richard with William but he was being very vague about it. She then brought this topic up to Fandrey and received no definite answer as well. It was impossible for Fandrey to sit back and do nothing for the sake of his granddaughter. Hence, it was as clear as day that Richard was not attracted towards Angel.
Deborah felt that Angel’s behavior was utterly shameful. “This is absolutely despicable! Why would you be so foolish in eavesdropping on others even if you are very fond of Richard? Is this the behavior of a daughter from a rich family? What would people think of you if they see you being so disgraceful?”
“I am well aware that I have brought shame towards myself but I could not seem to control my actions. Grandma, can you please help me out?” Angel humbled down and had instead asked for Deborah’s assistance.
There was nothing that Deborah could do apart from advising her, “It takes two to be in a romantic relationship. Richard needs to be on the same page with you even if you have feelings for him, right? The both of you can only date each other if he is also fond of you. It would be a waste of efforts if he does not fall head over heels towards you, right?”
“Richard is not aware of my feelings towards him. However, I am confident that Helen likes me very much. Grandma, this is the first time that I have loved someone so madly. You have to lend me a helping hand!”
“Angel, this matter would not be resolved by my assistance. You…”
“I don’t care as I am your granddaughter. I am getting older but I still have no boyfriend. You should think from my shoes, shouldn’t you? Richard is the most suitable man in becoming my partner. How are you so sure that the tables could not be turned before you even tried things out?”
Angel shamelessly pestered her grandmother. Deborah was feeling troubled due to the current situation and it was very obvious that Angel was madly in love with Richard. However, Angel was the granddaughter of the Floyd family and family would always be the top priority. Deborah needed to come up with a way to help Angel in resolving this matter.
