Chapter 1115 Given Her The Green Light

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

A sneer crept on Meadow’s face for a moment upon seeing Madelyn being so full of herself. Meadow replied in a gentle tone, “Madelyn, the servants of the Floyd family have just gone back! On the other hand, I have yet to see Angel visiting you at the hospital.”
“What? Who had agreed on letting the servants return home? Who will take care of me if they are not here?” Madelyn continued to raise her voice at Meadow.
It was impossible for Meadow to tolerate her for being a crybaby. Madelyn was truthfully arrogant despite only being working as a servant for just a few days. Meadow wondered who had given her the green light to be so rude towards others.
Meadow replied in a slow-paced tone, “I have no idea who has given them orders to return home. However, they told me before leaving the hospital that they have no responsibility in looking after you. Madelyn, you have made a fool of yourself by seducing a married man. The Floyd family has already decided to sack you off!”
“How is this possible?” Madelyn’s voice cracked.
Meadow stood in front of the hospital bed and glanced at Madelyn with a disdainful look on her face. “Madelyn, why would you end up hugging a man during the night? It is no wonder that the wife decided to teach you a lesson about it!”
“Shut up! Who claimed that I am acquainted with that man? I… I don’t even know that lunatic. That psycho had approached me to ask for directions. I was so f*king kind in showing him the way but he had molested me instead. Besides, I have no idea who those crazy women are in giving me a violent beating!”
Meadow had a much more contemptuous smile than before. However, she was still speaking in a polite manner, “Nothing will change in explaining things to me and Azalea. The tables would only turn if the Floyd family is on your side. Rumor has it that you sneaked out to meet your lover at night. I was just being told by the servants that Mrs. Floyd is pissed off upon hearing about it. She immediately made up her mind to fire you!”
“How can she do this to me? I was met with this trouble on my way to buy cooking wine for Angel. I need to get ahold of her!” Madelyn began to shout at the top of her lungs once again.
Meadow delicately replied, “I’m afraid that Angel would not be making a trip to the hospital anytime soon. It is best for you to rest up and hope for a speedy recovery.”
“Who said that Angel would not be visiting me? She must be unaware of the fact that I was being injured. Those damn servants must be hiding this incident from Angel as they are jealous of me.”
Meadow twitched the corner of her mouth and said, “Angel knows that you are being wounded. She was the one who has contacted Azalea to make a trip to the hospital.”
“Are… Are you telling me the truth?” Angel did not visit Madelyn at the hospital despite knowing that she was injured? It was a total contrast from what had Madelyn imagined, wasn’t it? Madelyn had her eyes wide open as she was extremely surprised upon hearing about it. Her wound was being affected and she screamed in pain due to the excessive movement.
Meadow’s eyes flashed a smile and she said, “Madelyn, you should take care of yourself first. Let’s discuss your next move after you have recovered. By the way, Azalea had hired a caretaker as she does not have the time to look after you. Feel free to tell the caretaker of your wants and needs. Azalea has to work tomorrow and I have something on as well. Hence, we shall make a move from the hospital for now. Rest assured as we will visit you when our schedules are free.”
Meadow dragged Azalea with her after she had finished speaking. Madelyn rolled her eyes as she was utterly mad at them.
Meadow took Azalea away and headed towards the parking lot. Azalea then apologized, “Meadow! I’m so sorry! You must have felt wronged due to my mom who was being unreasonable.”
“I did not feel offended at all. However, Azalea… you must have been taken advantage of by her for many years, right?”
“Not really, as I do not have much interaction with her. Meadow, what do you is going on in my mother’s mind? I am not convinced that she is someone else’s mistress. This must be a misunderstanding, right?”
“You’re right, I do not believe that your mother would do such a thing as well. Something else must be going on behind the scene.”
“Meadow, what is your opnion on this matter then?”
“I have no idea about it. However, didn’t your mother say that she has met with such a tragedy due to the fact that she headed out to purchase a cooking wine as per Angel’s instruction? Angel would be willing to testify for her if Madelyn is telling the truth. Your mother would then be able to clear out the misunderstanding.”
“Why would she do that? I have already felt utterly humiliated when she decided to work as a servant in the Floyd family. It would actually be best for the Floyd family to fire her instead.”
“Azalea, you need to think of a long-term plan in winning the war. Do think of Angel being your aunt’s daughter as a starting point. You will reap some benefits should your mother continues to take good care of Angel.”
“You do have a solid point. What should we do now then? Should I get ahold of Angel and request her to lend a helping hand in settling my mom’s trouble?”
“There is no need for that. We shall wait and see for now.” Meadow felt that something fishy had been going on judging by the incident that happened just now based on her experience.
Madelyn’s objective was to please Angel and hoped that she could reunite with her daughter one day. There was no incentive for her in meeting with her lover. Besides, she went out to purchase a bottle of cooking wine for the sake of Angel as well. Could this matter have something to do with Angel then? Madelyn decided to sit back and observe the situation for now.
The following scene had occurred in Climax Space. Abbie leaned against the sofa and sipped wine with a depressed look on her face. She had listened to Valeria’s suggestion in letting Braelynn successfully get her out of the house.
However, the situation was different from what she had initially expected. She was able to set foot out from the house but alongside Richard’s accompaniment as well.
What was the difference between being kept track by Richard and being locked up at home then?
Abbie stood up sullenly. Richard, who was playing the dice game with Braelynn glanced towards her and asked, “Where are you going?”
“Why should you care when I would like to head towards the loo?”
“I have no comments of you going to the bathroom that’s for sure. However, I shall remind you to not come up with that excuse to run away from me. You can dream on for me to help you out if you have the guts to flee from this place.”
“Pfft!” Abbie huffed and left angrily.
“Why are being so strict towards Abbie?” Braelynn put the dice away and frowned, “Just let her be if she really wants to have a good time. I don’t see any difference if she head back home with you at the same time.”
“It’s not that I forbid her to have some fun. My mom was the one who had given me instructions to keep an eye on her. I’m just following orders that’s all.”
“Abbie is someone who knows her limit well. Why would you make such a huge fuss about it?”
“You have no idea how much troubles that she has caused. My mother told me that Abbie is not being herself these few days. She must have fallen head over heels towards a playboy judging by her foolish personality. I do have the same point of view as my mother. You have no idea how much of a pain in the ass that my sister is. Abbie is an utterly stubborn person. It would be unimaginable if someone with ulterior motives has set his eyes on her. I must keep a close eye on my sister.”
Richard genuinely cared about Abbie, “I have no objection for her to marry a man that is less wealthy than our family. I will give her my blessing as long as Abbie loves him and the man treats her well. However, there is no room for discussion should she have a messy love life.”
“Why are you so sure that Abbie would be interested in an unreliable man? It is unwise of you to think about her this way based on your biased point of view.”
“That is because I know Abbie really well, okay? She had caused trouble during her stay overseas when I did not keep a close eye on her. I was utterly pissed off when I knew about it.”
“What did Abbie do at that time?” Braelynn asked with a curious look on her face.
“Well… it’s a long story. I’ll tell you about it in the near future,” Richard refused to spill the beans. Braelynn was increasingly interested in it and queried further, “Why would you want to tell me about it next time? I would like to know about it right now.”
“It is currently not the perfect timing as this is a very big secret. I can’t simply tell others about it due to the level of confidentiality. I can only share it with my closest ones, for example, my wife. Why don’t we go for the registration of marriage tomorrow? I’ll tell you about it after we have obtained the marriage certificate. What do you think?”
“Dream on!” Braelynn scoffed and continued speaking, “Richard, do you think I’m a naive person judging by my innocent look? Aren’t you embarrassed at yourself for using such a silly trick on me?”
“I did not see you as a simple person at all. It’s just that this is a matter of great importance. I am not joking around when I say that this matter can’t be simply shared with others.”
“All right, that’s enough. I am no longer curious about it either. You shall keep it to yourself and share it with your future wife. I shall be calling it a day!” Richard panicked upon seeing Braelyn leaving with an upset look on her face. He swiftly got up to halt her and said, “Braelynn, please don’t be mad at me and hear me out instead. Abbie has lost a part of her memory during her stay overseas. Not many people are aware of this matter…”
Braelynn reached out to pinch Richard before he finished speaking. She looked towards the direction of the door with a smile on her face and said, “Abbie, you are finally back!”
