Azalea was lost in her thoughts for quite some time after meeting with Angel. She still struggled to grasp what was going on in Angel’s mind. She eventually returned to her apartment after she had finished recording her program. She then told Meadow everything about her conversation with Angel just now.
“Something is off about Angel as her attitude towards the Clark family is indeed puzzling. My guess is that she has fallen head over heels towards Richard. However, is it possible for him to be fond of her? Besides, who was the one that spoke ill of him to Angel?”
“Who else can it be? It is undoubtfully your mother’s work!” Meadow scoffed. It looked like Madelyn was too desperate in reuniting with her biological daughter.
Madelyn was truthfully a brainless person. Why didn’t she know her place well? She was very bold in interfering with Angel’s personal affairs regardless of her current identity. She would be met with troubles real soon.
Everything was as per Meadow’s plan to see Madelyn being a busybody in making a fuss of Angel’s love life. Things would be much more interesting if Madelyn let her lip loose and accidentally tell the world that Angel was her daughter. Azalea would then be able to steal the spotlight when such a situation occurred.
“What? Why would she badmouth Richard? She has no bad blood with him, hasn’t she?” Azalea was confused.
Meadow had already known the exact reason why Madelyn spewed nonsense about him, “There must be something going on behind the scene. Angel is very fond of him as per my speculation. However, your mother does not intend to let Angel have anything to do with Richard.”
“What does this have to do with my mother? It is not her place to be concerned about these matters when she is just working as a servant, right?” Azalea knew that there must be a reason why Meadow would say it so. She must be missing a piece of important information. “Meadow, you must be aware of something. You need to tell me instead of keeping it a secret from me!”
It was not Meadow’s plan to tell her these things way ahead of schedule but troubles were currently awaiting Madelyn. Meadow had to share some information with Azalea for her to be mentally prepared.
“Azalea, I shall disclose something to you beforehand since things have eventually turned out this way. You should have guessed that your aunt and Callum used to be a couple, right?”
“Yes, I have already speculated that my aunt has some kind of a relationship with Callum. He would not have paid special attention to me if that was not the case.”
“My guess is that you have no idea about Angel’s identity, right? Well, she is not the daughter of Mrs. Floyd. She is actually the biological daughter of your aunt and Callum.”
Azalea was taken aback and exclaimed, “Oh My God! Is this really the truth? Are you sure that Angel is the daughter of my aunt? That is such great news to hear!”
“What is so uplifting about it?” Meadow swiftly questioned as she knew what was going through Azalea’s mind.
“Angel and I are cousins since she is the daughter of Emily. This would mean that we are relatives. Is this a green light for me to publicly befriend Angel then?”
Meadow was speechless upon hearing about it. Azalea must be out of her mind, right?
Madelyn and Emily were not related by blood at all. How was it logical for Azalea and Angel to be cousins then?
Besides, Angel did not look like one who would be friendly with Azalea judging by her personality. Meadow thought about it and reminded her, “Azalea, let us imagine that you are in Angel’s shoes. Would you reunite with a so-called cousin if she is powerless and has no capabilities at all? You need not forget that your mother and Emily are not biological sisters. They are essentially siblings that are not related by blood.”
“Well… I did not think about this at first,” Azalea finally came to her senses upon hearing Meadow’s words.
Azalea was not related to Angel by a single bit. How was it possible for Angel in becoming friends with Azalea judging by her arrogant attitude? The idea of Azalea turning the tables around was rather unrealistic.
However, Azalea had a glimmer of hope upon thinking that Madelyn was currently working in the Floyd family.
“Meadow, what is your opinion on my mother residing in the Floyd family? She is not the perfect candidate for becoming a servant, isn’t she? She is a lazy and devious person after all. She must have ulterior motives in becoming a servant in the Floyd family out of the blue, right? Could this idea may have been suggested by Emily in getting closer to Angel?”
“Of course not. I actually think that Emily is unaware of the fact that your mother had been hired to work in the Floyd family as a servant. Madelyn decided to reside in the Floyd family without telling her beforehand.”
“Huh? What is my mother wanting to achieve by working in the Floyd family then?”
“I have no idea as well. I will instruct my men to investigate this matter and update you accordingly,” Meadow vaguely replied.
It was best to take one step at a time. Meadow planned to tell her that Angel was the daughter of Emily as starters. She would then disclose to Azalea at perfect timing that both she and Angel had been exchanged by Madelyn.
Azalea had no idea of her train of thought. She assumed that Meadow was genuinely unaware of Madelyn’s intention in deciding to work at the Floyd family.
Azalea clearly knew that she had no blood relationship with Angel. However, the greediness of climbing up the social ladder had eventually clouded her judgment.
Angel did not know that her biological mother was Emily all along, didn’t she? Azalea needed to come up with an opportunity in telling her this piece of news and observe her reaction upon hearing about it. Azalea would be at an advantageous point should Angel intend on reuniting with Emily. She would be able to get friendly with Angel on the basis of her closeness with Emily.
Callum gave Azalea a helping hand and Angel would join the club as well. A bright future should be awaiting for Azalea real soon.
Azalea was lost in her thoughts while imagining herself being a successful celebrity.
The ringing sound of the phone soon pulled her back from fantasy into reality. Azalea glanced at the phone number and realized that it was from Angel. She swiftly answered, “Angel, hello there!”
Angel said with a hurried tone, “Azalea, your mother was sent to the hospital because of an accident. Kindly please head over here as soon as possible.”
Azalea was startled upon hearing about it and asked, “What happened to my mom again?”
“I am not aware of the exact reason either. The current news that I managed to receive is that her nose is broken due to a violent beating just now. She is in the emergency department of the hospital. You would grasp the full picture upon arriving here.”
“But… How… how is this possible?”
Azalea was too shocked to speak further upon hearing that Madelyn’s nose was severely injured. She might not have believed it and assumed that it was a prank should someone else have contacted her. The incident was evidently true since Angel had personally contacted her. Azalea soon agreed to head towards the hospital as she was left with no other choices.
Azalea swiftly changed her clothes and headed out after ending the phone call. She was muttering to herself while on her way to the hospital.
What on earth was going on with Madelyn? She fell downstairs and was injured in the Floyd family last time. Her nose was now broken just a few days after the previous incident. Why was she so unlucky? Was she in a cursed relationship with the Floyd family?
Azalea murmured to herself as she went downstairs and hopped onto the car. She ignited the car engine and headed straight towards the hospital.
She did not forget to call Meadow on her way to the hospital. Azalea told her everything about the incident of Madelyn’s broken nose.
Meadow was also startled upon hearing that Madelyn’s nose was broken due to being struck hard by someone else. “Who had done this to her? How could this have happened?”
“I don’t know! I’m so annoyed right now. I have no idea what is she thinking by deciding to become a servant at the Floyd family. Just look at her right now. She’s causing trouble for me every day!”
Azalea complained while Meadow tried to ease her displeasure, “There is no use of making a fuss since things have already turned out this way. You shall head over to the hospital first and I will arrive there later as well.”
Azalea felt reassured upon hearing that Meadow would be making a trip to the hospital later. “Meadow, thank you so much! Do come over as soon as possible then!”
