Ornard said, “Oh, what’s your idea? Tell me about it.”
“I’m guessing you’re quite old from the sound of your voice. Do you have a son? Why don’t you consider my marriage with your son and becoming a family? That way, we’ll be tied together and we’ll be able to carry out the plan together. There won’t be anything suspicious among us.”
Ornard was obviously stunned when he heard Paisley’s words. Was Paisley so desperate that she was willing to give up on her pride?
He wanted to see what was Paisley’s bottom line. Ornard laughed and said, “I’m indeed old, but I don’t have a son. To be precise, I don’t have children. Ms. Anthony, your idea is good, but it’s impossible.”
“What? Why don’t you have any children?” Paisley asked.
“No reason.” Ornard obviously didn’t want to say it.
“Do you have a lover?” Paisley asked again.
“No, I don’t.”
“You’re childless and you don’t have a lover at such an old age. It sounds pretty strange.” Paisley frowned and her intuition told her that the other party was lying to her. “Are you lying to me? It seems that you don’t want to cooperate with me at all. In this case, let’s forget it. I’ll accept my fate!”
She pretended to hang up the phone, but Ornard stopped her. “Ms. Anthony, I’m not lying to you. I’m telling the truth. I know we don’t trust each other now, and you said that we have to build our trust. I have an idea. I don’t have a son, but I can marry you myself.”
“What? Do you know what you just said?” Paisley was shocked.
Ornard laughed in a very cynical way. “Of course! I’m unmarried, so I can marry you! How about the deal? If you marry me and we’re an official couple, I can help you. You don’t have to be wary of me, right?”
“Are you out of your mind?” Paisley hung up the phone after she scolded him.
Damn it! How could he come up with such an idea? Is he out of his mind?”
Paisley was extremely angry. No matter how down and out she was, she would never marry an old man who was old enough to be her father. The mysterious man must have made a mistake.
Abbie arrived at Wolf Group and Braelynn had just parked her car as well. When she saw Abbie getting down from the car, she came over with a smile. “Did Valeria ask you to come over?”
“Yes! She asked us to look at the wedding plan video to see if there is anything to improve.” Abbie nodded.
The two of them entered the elevator and went to Valeria’s room. Valeria was watching the video on a tablet in the living room. She placed the tablet down with a smile when she saw Abbie and Braelynn walk in. “You guys are here! Let’s watch it on TV. I just briefly looked at it on the tablet. It feels good!”
William came out of his study. “How would there be anything wrong with my arrangements?”
“You’re so full of yourself. Let Abbie and Braelynn take a look first. We’ll go out for a meal after we’re done. You guys can talk about the details later, don’t say it in front of my husband now.”
Valeria turned on the projector and the wedding video appeared on the TV.
Abbie and Braelynn focused on the video and the planning was very perfect. Abbie and Braelynn had no objections to it at all. “It’s too beautiful!”
“Don’t you have any suggestions?” Valeria asked.
“No, this is good!”
William said proudly, “I told you that no one would find fault with my plans. You didn’t believe me!”
“Well! I know you guys are afraid that he will feel embarrassed, so you chose to keep it to yourselves.” Valeria winked at William. Actually, she was very satisfied with the video, but she didn’t want William to be so arrogant. “I asked the restaurant to prepare a lobster dish. Let’s have lunch first and talk about the details later.”
Abbie stood up and hold Valeria’s hand as she walked out. Braelynn stopped for a moment and looked at William. “Aren’t you going with us?”
“I have an appointment at noon,” William answered with a smile. “Go with your sister-in-law and take care of her!”
“I will!” Braelynn quickly caught up with Valeria and Abbie.
William went back to his study after he watched them leave. Then, he walked out after he grabbed his coat and picked up his phone. Bobby followed him in bewilderment because he didn’t know that William had an appointment at noon.
“Sir, who are you going to meet?”
“My grandfather and Angel,” William replied with a smile.
“Didn’t I just promise to help Abbie? I will fulfill my promise now.”
Meanwhile, in a private room in the restaurant. Fandrey and Angel arrived 10 minutes in advance. They entered the room and sat down, but Angel still couldn’t believe it, “Grandpa, are we really here to meet William?”
“That’s right!” Fandrey answered curtly.
“Didn’t William fall out with dad? Why would he see us?” Angel was eager to meet William. Ever since she had offended Valeria and angered William, William had hated her to the extreme and she had not seen him for a long time.
“Yes!” andrey took a sip of tea and replied faintly.
A few minutes later, footsteps could be heard from outside and it was accompanied by the respectful voice of the manager. “Sir, this way please!”
“Willaim is coming!” Angel stood up and opened the door with joy. Fandrey frowned slightly when he looked at Angel’s hurried gestures, but did not stop her.
William was led to the door by the manager. The door was opened from the inside. Angel smiled shyly and said, “William!”
William nodded with an indifferent expression and walked into the room. He greeted Fandrey and ignored Angel’s attentiveness, “Grandpa!”
“Sit!” Fandrey gestured for William to sit down. “I ordered some speciality dishes. What else do you want to eat?”
“Grandpa, it’s up to you. I’m not picky about food.” William sat down with a faint smile.
“Okay, you can just follow my previous order.” The manager smiled and left.
William leaned against his chair and said, “You didn’t just call me over today to treat me to dinner, right?”
“Yes! I want to tell you something about your uncle.”
“Hm? I’m not interested in that. What would you like to say to me?” William said in an obviously agitated tone.
“Tell me about the party yesterday.” Fandrey was obviously upset. William chuckled and said, “I don’t have time to care about these irrelevant matters. What’s wrong with the party?”
“Azalea was set up at the party last night,” Fandrey replied expressionlessly.
“Does it have anything to do with me?” William asked.
“It has nothing to do with you, but it concerns Valeria,” Fandrey replied.
“It has something to do with my wife? What do you mean?”
“Azalea said that the scheme last night was plotted by Abbie. Your uncle and I think that Abbie is not so capable, so Valeria should be helping…”
“Listen!” William interrupted Fandrey. “You’re saying that my wife worked with Abbie to frame Azalea? Grandpa, that’s what you mean, right?”
“That’s right!”
William’s eyes turned cold. “Do you have any evidence?”
“Not at this moment!”
“Why did you tell me this if you have no evidence? Don’t you think it’s a little ridiculous, Grandpa?” William narrowed his eyes and looked at Fandrey. He looked like he was about to get angry and Angel’s heart pounded anxiously.
