It was already midnight and the party was drawing to an end. The guests took their leave one after another. Hayden and Andrew were in high spirits as they sent the guests off. William did not send the guests off but looking for Richard. He could feel that something was wrong with Richard tonight.
He thought that Richard would be happy to dance with Braelynn. However, Richard didn’t look happy but worried after dancing. William didn’t have time to care about Richard just now, but he had to ask about the situation since he was free now.
William couldn’t find Richard. He went straight to Braelynn to find out more about him. When he walked to Braelynn’s side, he realised that Richard was hiding behind a pillar not far from Braelynn. William burst into laughter. When did this guy become like this?
He asked Braelynn, “Are you tired today?”
“Not at all!” Braelynn replied with a smile.
“It’s late. You don’t have to go back. Just stay in the hotel. The room is ready for you. I’ll ask someone to send you upstairs.”
“Thank you… brother!” Braelynn was embarrassed to call him brother. She finally called that out after hesitating for a while.
The way Braelynn addressed William made him laugh. He said in a gentler tone, “We’re a family from now on. I’ll take care of you and love you like a real brother. You don’t have to feel burdensome. Tell me anything you want. If you’re too embarrassed to tell me, just tell it to Valeria.”
Upon seeing William’s gentle appearance, Braelynn felt warm in her heart. “Alright!”
“Well, go and have a rest. Send Miss Braelynn to her room!” The steward came over respectfully. “Miss, this way please!”
Braelynn left with the steward of the guest room. William turned around and Richard strolled out with a serious face.
William laughed and said, “Tell me, why are you hiding here?”
“Did I? I just happened to pass by.”
“I don’t believe whatever you’re saying. Tell me, why are you so upset? Just because I drove your car away? Hey Richard, aren’t you too mean? It’s just a car. Do you have to act to this extend?” William rebuked Richard profusely.
Richard said angrily, “I’m willing to cough it up. Not for the car.”
“Then what’s the reason?” William became more curious.
“Because… because I was tricked by Braelynn!”
Richard felt that it was too shameful. He was so handsome and smart, how could he be tricked by a woman? He didn’t want to tell William. However, William will find it out sooner or later. He would admit it himself rather than being laughed at by William.
William was stunned by Richard’s words. “No way? Braelynn tricked you? How?”
“It’s not a trick actually. I bet with Braelynn, and I lost.” Richard told the truth. William laughed. “You lost? No, why are you so bad at this? You lost?”
Richard looked sad. “I may be born to have a conflict with your family. I am always invincible never lose in betting. Why did it turn out differently here?”
“What did you lose?” William asked.
Richard told the story of betting with Braelynn. “I thought I would win, so I generously said that she could make requests at will. I didn’t expect that Braelynn would be so lucky.”
“So what did she request you? Why did you so depressed?”
“She told me to listen to her on everything. If she told me to go this way, I couldn’t go another way.”
Richard sighed after saying that. William burst into laughter and said, “So Braelynn requested you to stay away from her at the party?”
“How did you know?”
“Your expression showed that!” William laughed again. He reached out and patted Richard on the shoulder. “I might have helped you if it was someone else, but Braelynn is different. I can’t help the outsider instead of my sister, right? Besides, you as a man lost to a woman. That’s shameful!”
“William, I’m so angry, yet you’re laughing at me? Aren’t you going too far?”
“Okay, stop pretending. You’re not willing to lose like this, right? Go back and think about it. Happiness is in your hand! In my case, I didn’t even put in any effort when I pursued my wife. It was a piece of cake. We have been brothers for years. Why didn’t you learn from me?”
“Hey, you didn’t put in any effort? Who was the one who begged hardly at that time?” Richard retorted.
“Really? Did I? How come I never know that?”
“Humph! Humiliate!” Richard was depressed. “I’m leaving. Let me warn you first. Don’t stop me from taking revenge on Braelynn in the future.”
“How dare you!” William raised his eyebrows. “If you dare to take revenge on her, let’s tear up.”
“Hey, you have to look at the person even if you want to cover for someone else. I was trapped by her, why do you still block me to scheme against her? This is the matter between Braelynn and me. You are an outsider, don’t get involved. Don’t you know that the quarrel between a couple doesn’t last longer?”
“Such a shameless guy. When did Braelynn say that she’s dating you?”

William touched his chin and smiled. “Well, that sounds not bad. Should I help him?”
No, what was he thinking? Braelynn was his sister, he could not help the outsider. He should let Richard do it himself.
Azalea was relieved as her scandal was suppressed, but she was not in a good mood. As the victim in this matter, she got shocked tonight. She once thought that she had lost all her reputation, but everything was different after a phone call from Emily.
Azalea felt like she had just survived a disaster. Only when she relaxed did she have the time to think about what had happened tonight.
Meadow asked her, “Azalea, you must have been tricked tonight. What happened when you went back to your room?”
