Azalea’s scandal was finally suppressed. However, it didn’t mean that this matter was sealed up and no one else knew it.
Callum was in B City when he used public relations to suppress the most searched hashtags. B City was not the territory of the Floyd family, so it would soon be known if something happened.
When Marcus talked to William about this matter, William burst into laughter. “It seems that Michael was not fooled. That’s worth teaching!”
“What does it have to do with Michael?” Marcus asked, “Is it Michael who planned Azalea’s case?”
William shook his head. “No. Michael wouldn’t treat Azalea viciously. In my opinion, Angel might be the one who did this.”
“Seriously? Did she have such an ability?” Valeria interrupted.
“Don’t underestimate Angel. It’s easy for her to deal with a person like Azalea.”
“It’s China here, not abroad. How did she get her connections?” Valeria asked.
“As long as she is rich enough, why not?” William smiled and petted Valeria’s head. “Well, don’t be curious. Go and find Bracelynn and Abbie.”
“Why are you driving me away? Are you going to conspire with Marcus?”
“How would I dare? You should tell Abbie about this great piece of good news. Ever since Michael left, she has been in a state of shock. She might rest assured after hearing this news, right?”
Valeria immediately stood up. “Yes, this is good news. I have to share it with Abbie!”
She went to Abbie excitedly. Abbie sat alone in a corner with a glass of wine in hand, staring somewhere in a daze.
Valeria walked to her side and sat down before she realised. “Why are you here?”
“Let me tell you a piece of good news. I heard that Azalea had a big scandal tonight. She hugged an old man and asked for a kiss. It’s so funny.”
“Is this true?” Abbie was stunned. She immediately reached out for his phone to read the news.
“Of course. Marcus just told that to William. However, this matter did not appear on the most searched hashtags since the Floyd family had suppressed it.”
“It’s impossible for her to hug an old man and do such disgusting things. Her target has always been Michael, so she was trapped?” Abbie asked.
“Maybe! Marcus and William guessed that the person might be Angel.”
“Why? Why would Angel plot against Azalea? Isn’t Azalea the Floyd family’s brand ambassador?” Abbie was confused.
“There are many reasons behind this. It’s hard to explain. Anyway, Azalea made a fool of herself tonight. Michael was not trapped. You don’t have to worry about it. Cheer up and enjoy yourself!”
“I’m not worried about Michael. He’d better be trapped!” Abbie’s was obviously much happier than before although she said that.
Valeria smiled and asked her, “Are we going to have barbecue later?”
“No. It’s already late, and you, as a pregnant woman, why are you going to barbecue rather than resting at home? If you are hungry, eating the food here should be enough.” Abbie refused.
“Are you confused or are you pretending to be confused? Can these buffets compare to my favourite barbecue? I haven’t enjoyed myself for a long time. Tonight is a good opportunity. Think about it. If you don’t go, I’ll go with Bracelynn!”
“Will William and Hayden let you go? If they allow, then I’ll go with you.” Abbie finally gave up.
Valeria was rubbing his palms and preparing to go for his barbecue after the party was over. Hayden came to her. “Valeria, it’s getting late. You can’t stay up any longer. Go back to your room and rest.”
“Dad! I…” Valeria was about to say that she was going to have a barbecue. And Natalie came over. “Didn’t I tell you to rest in your room? Why are you still sitting here? Don’t you know that you’re pregnant? Hurry up, I will send you back to your room.”
Valeria failed to have her barbecue under Natalie’s control. If it was William, she could still act like a spoiled child, but it didn’t work at all for Natalie.
Natalie helped Valeria into the elevator. When the elevator door closed, Valeria said gloomily, “Mom, Abbie and I planned to have a barbecue.”
“What? Don’t you know that Hayden is so worried about you? I told you to rest in your room an hour ago, but you ignored it. Hayden was watching at you even when he was talking to others. He was worried that staying up late would harm your health and was bad for the children.”
“It’s troublesome. If and only if I unload the cargo earlier, I could have enjoyed the barbecue!”
“Is this what a mother should say? Don’t you care about your children?”
“Hayden will take care of them, right?”
Natalie couldn’t help but laugh. “Valeria, do you expect Hayden to take care of your children? Is this his job? Is he able to take care of children at this age? Besides, don’t you know it’s better if the child is brought care of by parents?”
Valeria explained, “Mom, I don’t expect Hayden to take care of everything. What I mean is if something like tonight happens, I don’t have to worry. Hayden can help to take care of the children while I’ll be able to enjoy the barbecue.”
Natalie smiled helplessly. “Your mind is full of barbecue. Is the barbecue by the roadside delicious? How many times have I advised you? You’re really stubborn!”
“Mom, let me tell you. Barbecue is really delicious, much better than the barbecue in a high-end hotel. If you don’t believe me, I’ll take you to try next time.”
“Well, I don’t want to try. You are spoiled. I have to tell William to stop spoiling you.”
“Mom, are you my real mom? Everyone is afraid that their daughter wasn’t treated well by their husband, but you insist on supporting William. Why are you helping the outsider instead of your daughter?”
“I’m afraid that you’re being capricious. You can’t play around with William just because you’re pregnant. It’s just that William has a good temper. If it’s someone else, he might not let you do whatever you want. There’re a lot of cases where the wife was being cheated by her husband when she is pregnant.”
“William is a good husband. The only person he loves is me, and he is the only person I love too.” Valeria muttered.
Natalie was annoying and amusing at the same time. The elevator stopped, and she helped Valeria out of the elevator and went straight to her room. “Okay, don’t talk nonsense. Go to have a bath and sleep early. I’ll be here until you fall asleep.”
Valeria surrendered. She could only follow Natalie’s words. She went to take a bath and went to bed.
Natalie had been sitting in the living room. After seeing Valeria fall asleep, she got up and left.
