Fandrey did not want to beat around the bush with William as he was his grandson. After all, William was the only child of his daughter. Fandrey had a different opinion towards his grandson contrary to others. He was not overly bothered by the negative remarks of William as he was his grandfather.
William shared half of the bloodline belonging to the Floyd family in the eyes of Fandrey. He was one of the candidates to become the heir of the Floyd family.
It would be an easy task should Callum have raised capable offspring. There was no doubt that Fandrey will pass down the wealth to them if that was the case. However, all hopes were lost upon having a granddaughter like Angel, who was an incompetent and deceitful person.
Fandrey placed his chopsticks down and wiped the corners of his mouth as he glanced at William. “I proposed to have dinner together as I would like to have a word with you. What is your point of view towards your uncle? I am well aware that you would not put Callum into a difficult situation for no apparent reason. He is not an evil person and on the contrary, he has a kind and gentle personality. He will not bring harm to you. William, you can take my word for it!”
William nodded and continued to consume his dinner without replying back to his grandfather. Fandrey did not know what was going on in William’s mind and continued speaking, “Well then, William, I am hoping that you could answer my query. How are you planning to settle the dispute regarding the Floyd family’s business matter? Are you still very persistent in giving your uncle a hard time and not letting bygones be bygones?”
William grinned and finally placed his chopsticks down. “I shall make things difficult for my uncle during this period of time.”
Fandrey swiftly questioned further as he was interested to know more about William’s rationale, “William, you are doing this on purpose, aren’t you? Did you find something bizarre along the way? I would like to hear you elaborate on this matter.”
“Grandpa, I can’t spill the beans as things are yet to be confirmed. I would like to make myself clear that I will not cause any inconvenience towards my family with no grounded basis. I will not target my family members should they not have ulterior motives in their minds. I can promise you this!”
“Alright, I know what you are trying to say!” Fandrey was aware of William’s intention upon hearing his explanation. “William, your uncle is not the main reason that I have suggested you have dinner with me. This is because I am confident that you would not treat him poorly out of the blue. Things will eventually get resolved as you are an intelligent person to come up with something brilliant. I chose to get ahold of you in hopes to talk about Angel.”
“Really? What did she do?” William queried.
“I remember telling you once that Veronica is responsible for the indecent personality of Angel. I have assumed that she merely spoilt Angel which has resulted in her bad temper. It looks like I have been seeing things too innocently.” Fandrey sighed and continued speaking, “She is a messenger that Veronica had meticulously placed beside us. Angel will report every move of ours in the country to her. I am absolutely taken aback by it!”
“Grandpa, since when are you aware of this matter?” William was calm as he was not surprised at all.
“I only knew about it yesterday.” Fandrey swiftly realized the indifferent look on William’s face and questioned, “Isn’t this a shocking piece of news to you? Have you known about it long ago judging by your undisturbed demeanor then?”
“Nope. I have just been suspecting her that’s all.”
“Why would you feel doubtful about Angel all of a sudden? What did she do to make you so suspicious?”
“It’s a long story. Grandpa, you must be very trusting towards me since you have personally invited me over to have dinner, right?”
“Of course!” Fandrey nodded his head.
“You should sit back and enjoy the show should you have faith in me. You and grandma will soon receive a marvelous gift from me. I am confident that the both of you will be ecstatic when the time comes.”
“Care to drop me a hint?” Fandrey’s interest was piqued.
“Unfortunately, no!” William chuckled and continued speaking, “Grandpa, I would like to ask you about something. Have you ever considered divorcing Veronica and Callum as she is an evil person?”
“Yes, but there are many drawbacks if I really were to take this seriously. I can settle things perfectly except for one matter. I am just worried that your uncle will get in touch with Emily if he successfully got a divorce.”
William asked again, “Are you signaling that both you and grandma are willing to give way towards the deceitful Veronica as opposed to accepting Emily with open arms?” William questioned further.
“Not really!” Fandrey let out a sigh and elaborated, “William, I shall be upfront with you. There are two obstacles that are in my way to giving up on Veronica. Firstly, I am friends with her father. I agreed in letting Callum and Veronica be a couple in order to enhance the relationship between the two families. Secondly, it is expected for Veronica to feel resentful as she was being harmed and eventually lost the ability to bear children. I don’t think it is rational for me to expect so much from her. As for Emily, we are on bad terms with her ever since the tragedy occurred. It will be bothersome should your uncle remarry Emily after calling it quits with Veronica. I am just worried that Emily would cause trouble as payback regarding the said past event. The Floyd family is in no position to stand up for such a challenge.”
“I know exactly where you are coming from! Your concerns are absolutely logical and you need not be excessively worried about this matter. You just need to be extra cautious since you are starting to feel doubtful towards Angel and Veronica. You shall continue to play dumb as if you are not aware of anything. We ought to sit back and relax as the suspect will eventually give the game away.”
“I have another matter on my mind with regards to Azalea. This is also part of the reason why I am not a fan of Emily. My first impression of Azalea is bad as I reckon that she has the same personality as Angel. She is utterly materialistic and loves to sow discord among others. Emily was so bold to request Callum in hiring Azalea as the ambassador of the Floyd family’s company. How absurd is this! I’m absolutely pissed off regarding this matter. I am certain that Callum will scrap this idea off should I give him an earful about it. However, the relationship as father and son would definitely be negatively impacted. I’m already at old age and I do not wish to see my son being distant towards me.”
William remained silent upon seeing Fandrey in a dilemma. He fully understood what was going through Fandrey’s mind. The rage and non-biased judgment would eventually diminish as one approached old age in hopes to have a lovely family atmosphere. William had seen it clearly on both Gavin and Hayden.
William pondered for a moment and said, “Grandpa, there is a simple solution to this problem. You need not worry and just leave it to Angel. Her triumph card is Veronica, whereas Azalea currently has the support of Emily. Do let them fight among each other. Azalea is a pain in the ass and so does Angel. I am confident that Angel will eventually teach Azalea a good lesson.”
“Are you sure that this plan is workable? I did think about this before. Hence, I gave Angel the green light of her going to the company in hopes to learn a thing or two. She would not cause any chaotic situation despite her vicious personality, right?”
“It would be much better if she were to cause a scene.” A trace of coldness flashed across William’s eyes. One was a vicious and shameless person, whereas the other one would do anything to achieve her objective. It will be a speculator show should the two of them have a dispute with each other.
“You are only able to gauge the ulterior motives of Veronica should the two of them declare war with each other. It would be a petty fight between women if she is just targeting Emily. This would then be unworthy of your efforts to meddle into. However, it will be a whole new ballgame should she have other intentions in mind.”
“What?” Fandrey was taken aback and asked, “Are you indicating that she might be eyeing the wealth of the Floyd family? This is absolutely…”
William gently patted Fandrey’s hand with a smile and said, “Grandpa, you need not be surprised about it. You don’t have to take things too seriously as it is just my speculation. Let’s just wait and see for now!”
