Deborah and Valeria once again went shopping for the entire day. They were bored after playing mahjong for less than an hour despite initially agreeing to commence the said activity the whole day. Valeria then brought Deborah to a beauty salon. She took a nap there whereas Deborah was having a facial session until late afternoon.
Valeria was starving just when Deborah was done with her facial treatment. She then brought Deborah to have afternoon tea with her.
Deborah had originally wanted to ask her about the misunderstanding between Braelynn and Rammos. However, she changed her mind as she did not want to ruin Valeria’s good mood.
They enjoyed their afternoon tea before proceeding to watch an opera performance. Valeria then received a call from Natalie in the evening to invite her home for dinner. Deborah had no choice but eventually return to the hotel disappointedly as she knew that it was time to end their meetup session for today.
Valeria soon returned to Natalie’s villa by the bodyguards. She had not visited here for a long time ever since she moved to the Howard family’s old estate alongside William.
She specially instructed the bodyguards to stop by and bought several boxes of fruits and a bouquet of flowers before heading towards the villa. Natalie and Archer were already standing at the entrance while waiting for their daughter. Archer immediately stepped forward to open the car door upon seeing the arrival of Valeria’s vehicle.
Valeria hopped down the car with a grin on her face and gave the flower to Natalie. She then asked, “Mom and dad, what is for dinner tonight?”
“Dinner is ready with a table full of your favorite dishes. Your mother had prepared the feast herself,” Archer answered with a smile.
Valeria was in a cheerful mood but decided to make a fuss about it, “Why didn’t you tell me in advance that you had prepared something delicious for dinner? Aren’t you guys aware that my husband is not free to join us for dinner tonight? I will only get invited to have dinner here whenever my husband is unavailable. Aren’t you afraid that William will hold a grudge against the both of you?”
“Our daughter has changed ever since she had become a married woman. You’re complaining to us even when we have invited you over to have a feast together. It is no easy task in becoming your parents!” Archer replied and spread his hands.
Natalie chuckled and came over to hold Valeria’s hand. “It was William who requested your father to invite you here for dinner tonight. He was afraid that you would be bored at home as he will be attending an appointment with his grandfather this evening.”
“Wow. Is this an indication that all credit goes to William for me to have the honor of having dinner here? Aren’t you guys clearly being biased? Have you forgotten that I am your daughter? You guys would obey the request of your son-in-law but never take your daughter’s words seriously. I am utterly heartbroken by it!”
“Look at that cheeky behavior of yours. I am feeling both irritated and delighted at your personality!” Natalie reached out to pinch her daughter’s face. Valeria immediately shouted, “Daddy! Mum is clearly abusing me!”
Archer stretched out his hand to pull Valeria towards him. “Do follow my lead. We shall give mummy the cold treatment from now onwards!”
Natalie followed behind them with the bouquet of flowers in her arms. The bodyguards soon entered the villa with fruits that were bought just now. Valeria took a seat and soon received a glass of water from Natalie. She took a sip and said, “Didn’t you guys hire a helper at all?”
“Your father feels uncomfortable if a stranger is at home. Hence, we only recruit part-time workers to clean our home,” Natalie replied.
Valeria winked at Archer and said, “Are you afraid that someone will get in your way in being romantic with mummy? Where is Raymond? Had he been heartlessly abandoned by the both of you?”
“Your brother does not want to come home either. He has headed out in accompanying your grandfather.”
Archer grinned and placed a cherry into Valeria’s mouth before speaking, “I bought it today on purpose. Do have a try and see whether it is sweet or not.”
Valeria gladly took a few cherries and leaned back after consuming them. “William is currently having a dispute with his uncle, right? Is grandpa planning to patch things up between the both of them?”
“I guess so. By the way, did Deborah mention a word about your company’s matter just now?”
“Nope, I doubt that she had the courage to voice her thoughts. I have planned the day utterly well when hanging out with her the entire day. Deborah is not a foolish person after all. She must be afraid that the mood will be spoilt if she decided to bring this topic up, right?”
“Valeria, you have learned to be as cunning as William ever since you had married him. I am amazed that you know how to strike while the iron is hot!” Natalie giggled.
“Mom, how can you say that? Was I an unintelligent person before marrying William?”
“What are you talking about? You used to be as innocent as a lamb when you were still single. I was most worried about you last time as you would blindly believe others. However, I did not expect that fortune would favor the fool. You eventually managed to marry such a brilliant man like William.”
“Alright, it is sufficient enough to praise him in front of me. You are not allowed to outright flatter him or else he would be increasingly arrogant about it. What if he dares to bully me at that time?”
“What? It has always been the other way round, right?” Natalie chuckled and said, “Valeria, it is not wise for you to go beyond the limit. Do not put him in a tight position by using your pregnancy as an excuse. What happened the day before yesterday? Why did you lock him up at the entrance and forbid him to set foot into the house?”
“Did he complain about this matter to the both of you?” Valeria curled her lips and continued speaking, “Why would a man like him react in such a petty manner? He is such a coward!”
“Are you saying that this incident did occur then? Did you really force him to stay at the entrance and disallowed him to enter the house? He must be tired after working so hard the entire day. Don’t you think that it is rather unreasonable in treating him like this?”
“Mummy, you need not take his nonsense seriously. I did not do such a thing to him. He was looking for trouble by being so bold in criticizing me. I then instructed him to spend the night at the guest’s room for a self-reflecting session. He decided to put on an act in hopes to gain my sympathy. You have no idea how cunning William is. He will always be the winner upon an argument.”
“Okay, fine then. However, the both of you are not the only ones residing in that house. Do not forget about your father-in-law as well. What was Hayden’s reaction when you punished William by forbidding him to enter the house?”
“My father-in-law was not bothered by it at all. William received an earful by him in the next morning. Hayden stated that my husband was just trying to make me feel guilty about my actions and he deserved to be disciplined. He will demand William get lost should this incident happen once again,” Valeria giggled upon recalling this matter.
“You are clearly being spoilt! How can you act so fearlessly?” Natalie sighed and could not help but burst into laughter as well.
The following scene had taken place in Portofino Restaurant. Fandrey’s car came to a halt at the parking lot. Sammuel got down the vehicle and glanced around before opening the car door. “William is already here as I have noticed his car already.”
“Let’s head in right now then.” They soon entered the restaurant one after the other. The manager of the restaurant greeted them with a smile and said, “This way please!”
The manager led both Fandrey and Sammuel to the entrance of a private room. He then pushed the door open and said, “William, your guests have arrived!”
“Grandpa, please have a seat!” William smiled and stood up as a gesture for Fandrey in sitting down. He then glanced at Sammuel and said, “Bobby is currently in the private room next to this. You can head over and enjoy dinner with him.”
“Noted with thanks, William!” Sammuel expressed his gratitude and headed towards the said private room.
Fandrey eventually took a seat with a smile on his face upon seeing how William had made arrangements for Sammuel. William then poured a cup of tea for Fandrey and said, “This green tea was freshly picked during this year. I’m sure that it would taste good.”
“Thank you!” Fandrey held the teacup and took a sip of it. The waiter soon came one after another into the private room to serve the dishes. William was still being very polite and said, “I have told them to prepare some specialty dishes. Grandpa, do have a taste of it.”
“Sure. I appreciate it very much!” Fandrey was extremely satisfied with such great hospitality.
The dishes were all chef’s special of the private restaurant. They had unique tastes and were utterly delicious. Fandrey praised the selection of dishes while he indulged in them. William sat across him with a smile on his face. He was busy serving Fandrey with the different types of food. William was seen to be in a good mood as there was no trace of unhappiness on his face at all.
Fandrey, an experienced and observant person was feeling confused about the attitude of his grandson. William did not bother to entertain Callum at all but was being very friendly towards Fandrey. What was he up to?
It was not possible for William to be unaware of Fandrey’s purpose to invite him in having dinner together. He was a quick-witted person after all. He must be feeling alright for the conversation that would soon be initiated by Fandrey judging by his pleased expression, right?
However, could it be that William knew exactly what was Fandrey going to tell him way in advance? How was that possible?
