Deborah, who was seated beside Fandrey, was utterly shocked upon hearing about it. “My love, this is absolutely… I just agreed to meet with Valeria to play mahjong later in the afternoon. How can I muster up the courage in acting as if nothing has happened?”
Angel was secretly delighted upon hearing Fandrey’s words. She then said, “Grandma, how could you still have the mood to play mahjong with her? It is as clear as day that Valeria is the mastermind behind this matter. She deliberately instructed Braelynn to put Rammos in a tight spot. She will then target both my dad and my grandpa to achieve her ulterior motive. She will be increasingly worse should you still insist on being so close with her!”
Deborah frowned upon hearing how upset Angel was. “Why would Valeria be mixed up in this matter? Rammos is the guilty one, right?”
“That’s true. However, I will be lenient if I am in Valeria’s shoes. She would not give Rammos a hard time if she really deems you as her family, wouldn’t she?”
“Valeria is unaware that Rammos is working under your father, right?” Deborah was displeased upon hearing Angel’s speculation and continued speaking, “This matter is clearly Braelynn’s fault. What does it have to do with Valeria? She is currently pregnant and her sole focus is to take care of her babies. It is not possible for her to be aware of other matters.”
Angel was secretly feeling annoyed upon seeing how Deborah was so persistent in siding with Valeria. However, she should keep her cool to avoid her efforts from going down the drain. She just exposed Azalea in front of Fandrey last night after all. She would be suspected if she continued to target Valeria. She needed to be patient and take things one step at a time. Hence, she decided to go against Braelynn all the way and hoped to eventually get rid of her before planning her next move.
“Alright then, I am now convinced that Valeria has nothing to do in this matter. However, Braelynn must be the cause of this mess. How can she not know that Rammos is working with us when she is a senior executive of Valeria’s company? What’s the purpose of her making a fuss about it and creating conflicts among each other?”
“You do have a solid point. This matter is indeed highly correlated with Braelynn. She needs to be kept under close observation as she is an evil person,” Deborah agreed with Angel.
Fandrey remained silent and his gaze casually swept over Angel. His eyes eventually fell on Deborah and he then said, “My love, isn’t Valeria coming over soon? Why are you still sitting here instead of dolling yourself up before going out with her?”
“You’re right! Goodbye!” Deborah immediately got up from her seat after Fandrey’s reminder. She headed towards the bedroom to take her handbag. Deborah eventually left home with her purse while Angel glanced at her with a disappointed look on her face.
Fandrey watched while seeing Deborah eventually leave home. He then turned towards Angel with a gentle look on his face and said, “Do not speak ill of Valeria in front of your grandmother from now onwards. She is an innocent person and can’t keep secrets well. Things would eventually get worse should she tell Valeria about it.”
Angel was stunned upon hearing about it. Fandrey swiftly explained himself further, “William has made up his mind in declaring war with your father. To be honest, I am very fond of that cousin of yours. However, my son would always be my number one priority and I will protect my closest ones at all costs. The Floyd family is never an easy target.”
Angel was extremely delighted upon hearing Fandrey being on the same boat with her. “No problem, grandpa! I’ll definitely pay more attention to my choice of words in the future.”
“That is a relief to hear. You can head out to relax if you wish. Do remember to instruct the bodyguards to follow you along and always be cautious. I will eventually tell your father to bring you to the company in familiarizing you with some official matters.”
“Grandpa, I don’t intend to head out as I would like to study at home today. I still have a lot of things to learn from.” Angel immediately tried to please him as she was feeling delightful.
It was impossible for her to remain indifferent as this was the first time that Fandrey was so concerned towards her.
“Alright, do continue your study session then. However, it is not wise to spend the entire day studying. You need to be balanced in every aspect to success in life,” Fandrey suggested with a warm smile on his face. His expression slowly turned cold as he watched Angel entering her room.
He picked up his phone and sent a text message to William. “Do accompany me to have dinner tonight. I would fancy a private and exclusive restaurant.”
“Okay!” William reverted his message.
Fandrey felt slightly relaxed upon seeing that William did not reject to meet with him. He then stood up and headed towards his study room.
Angel, on the other hand, returned to her room and closed the door with a face filled with joy. She swiftly sent a message to Veronica that stated, “Mummy, I shall deliver good news to you. I did a very applaudable thing last night. I politely indicated to grandpa how Azalea became the spokesperson of the Floyd family’s company.”
Veronica replied with a ‘thumbs-up’ emoji. Angel continued the text conversation with a proud look on her face, “Emily begged dad to lend a helping hand towards a worthless piece of shit like Azalea. She will soon know how influential grandpa is. I’ll update you as soon as I got ahold of the news.”
“Not bad, Angel. I am really impressed by you!” Veronica did not take her words seriously at all. She was skeptical that an idiot like Angel would succeed in such a marvelous thing.
Angel did not realize that Veronica was merely trying to make her feel good. She was feeling over the moon and continued to text her,
“It’s not just about this. Mummy, grandpa promised me to put a few good words to dad. I will be shadowing dad and hope to learn a thing or two from him at the company. By the way, both William and dad have officially declared war with each other. Mason just gave grandpa a call just now and angrily said that William was being merciless towards him. Grandpa was pissed off and stated that he would not be surprised if we have a fallout with William. It seems that they are clearly holding grudges against each other.”
Veronica was initially not confident towards Angel as she was an unreliable person after all. However, she was stunned for a moment upon receiving the text message from Angel. “Are you sure that they have bad blood against each other already?”
“Of course. Why would I lie to you? I shall notify you that I have secretly recorded the conversation. I shall have you listen to what my grandpa has said just now.”
Angel then sent the recording over to her. Veronica was very delighted upon listening to it. She immediately forwarded the recording to Ornard and said, “Ornard, your revenge plan seems to be effective.”
Ornard was also feeling over the moon upon hearing the recording and said, “I did not expect them to be on bad terms so soon. Fandrey used to adore and appreciate William very much, right? Haha, this is such a piece of cake!”
“It is logical for one to pick the winning side when conflicts of interest arise. There was previously nothing for William to have a disagreement with the Floyd family. However, things are different now since both Valeria and Braelynn are the cause of the business disruption of the Floyd family. It would be a miracle for Fandrey to not lose his cool,” Veronica sneered.
“It is within my expectation for Valeria to be inflexible about this matter. What surprises me the most is William’s attitude. I can’t imagine that he would fall into the trap so easily.” Ornard felt that something was not right and queried, “Are they deliberately putting on an act?”
“How is that possible? There are no outsiders as Angel and Deborah are the only ones there. Why would Fandrey need to pretend things? Angel is a worthless person and she is not even involved in company matters. Why would Callum go so far in deceiving them?” Veronica snapped back.
“I do think that you have overestimated their capabilities. William is not as meticulous as we thought, right? It is absolutely rubbish in deeming him to be a sophisticated person despite him being the President of Wolf Group. You even used to think that he is a great threat to you. You are clearly being overly cautious. He has taken the bait when you just tried to sow a small discord between them. What else could he do apart from surrender if you decide to make a move on him in the future?”
“You’re absolutely right. I shall notify Paisley about this matter and let’s plan our next move accordingly. Do remind Angel to lay low for now and do not expose herself.”
