Chapter 1009 A Tenfold Payback

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

It was early in the morning the following day. Braelynn received a call from Rammos as soon as she arrived at the company. “President Saunders, I’m Rammos. Are you free today? Let’s meet up!”
Braelynn’s attitude was very cold as she knew that William will back her up. “Mr. Smith, I’m afraid not. I don’t have any free time today.”
“Presidents Saunders, when would your schedule be free to meet with me then?” Rammos asked.
“My appointment is full for the time being.”
Braelynn was just coming up with excuses to not meet with him. Rammos had no choice but to apologize, “President Saunders, I know I am at fault that caused us to be on bad terms with each other. However, I did not mean to stand you up. I’m sorry for my mistake and I hope that you can forgive me!”
Braelynn did not take him seriously and replied, “Mr. Smith, you need not apologize as this is not a big deal. It is one’s freedom to have a business relationship with others after all. Hence, it is logical for you to not attend the appointment last time.”
“President Saunders, it’s not because of the collaboration of business…”
“Well, Mr. Smith, I’m not interested in other matters. I’m very busy and have lots of official matters to deal with. I shall end the call here. Goodbye!”
Braelynn hung up his phone call and did not intend to clear the misunderstanding with him at all. Rammos initially thought that Braelynn would show mercy on him should he call her personally. However, things went contrary to his imagination. He glanced awkwardly at Callum, who was sitting on the president’s chair and said, “Mr. Floyd… Well…”
Callum frowned and said, “She is not willing to let bygones be bygones, isn’t she? Is Braelynn that stubborn?”
Rammos was a veteran in the business industry. Braelynn, who was a newbie, should show leniency towards Rammos when he apologized to her first.
However, Braelynn hung up his call without any room for discussion. Who gave her the green light in acting so boldly?
Was Valeria the one who had supported her? Needless to say, William was the mastermind behind it.
Callum felt helpless as his ego was very high and was reluctant to beg for mercy. He also did not want to rely on Fandrey to resolve this matter.
Callum held back his anger and gave William a call. “William, are you free today? Let’s meet for a short while in the afternoon!”
“I am relatively busy during this period of time,” William refused his request.
“Really? Are you that occupied until you can’t squeeze some time out to meet with your uncle?” Callum’s eyebrows were filled with anger.
“Yes,” William gave a short and precise answer.
Callum was pissed off and questioned, “You are the one who had instructed the Saunders family and Richard to forego business with us, aren’t you?”
“I guess so,” William replied.
“What are you talking about? What do you mean by answering so vaguely?”
“Well, I initially planned to call my father-in-law and Richard to call it quits with Rammos. However, they decided it before I could communicate with them. Hence, my wish has indeed come true.”
“I’m your uncle, and you’re treating me like this because of a misunderstanding? Don’t you think that it is ridiculous to do so?”
“It is not my plan to make things hard for you. However, you are an ignorant person judging by how you targeted my wife’s company with that bossy attitude of yours. You need to bear the consequences since you have the guts to react in this manner, right? The world does not revolve around you. Rammos is a senior member in the business industry but does things recklessly. He even tried to put a newbie in a difficult situation. Don’t you think that it’s rather stupid and foolish?”
Callum was speechless upon his query. He suppressed his anger and defended, “Rammos is the guilty one and I have already given him an earful. I have also instructed him to apologize to Braelynn. We are being very sincere about our wrongdoings. Isn’t that sufficient enough to forgive us?”
“Of course not! One needs to be fair and square when commencing matters. Rammos knew deep down how he had treated Braelynn and he needs to repay for his mistakes. Are you suggesting to let things slide just by a mere apology? This is ridiculous, isn’t it? I would always return the favor in tenfolds and no one would be the exception!”
It was an indication that Rammos had to apologize thirty times since he had stood Braelynn up three times. Callum almost sprung up from his seat and raised his voice, “William, are you really going to take things so far?”
“It’s not my call to be so cold-blooded! Rammos must learn his lesson well. Callum, I’m doing this for the good of both you and Rammos! The dynamic would not be impaired should Rammos beg for her mercy now. Otherwise, I reckon both you and Rammos will be embarrassed upon seeing Braelynn in the future!”
William had taken things too far. Braelynn was only a general manager of Valeria’s company. She was a young girl with no influential background. However, Rammos was requested in apologizing to her thirty times. This was too absurd.
Callum felt that this was not about giving Braelynn peace of her mind. William was making things difficult for Callum since he lodged a police report last time. “Alright then, you are indeed a tough nut. I will not beg for anyone’s mercy. We have nothing more to discuss since that is the case.”
William was very calm as opposed to Callum being utterly mad. “Goodbye, Callum!”
Callum angrily threw everything that was on the table after ending the call. He was still feeling depressed despite turning his office into a chaotic room.
William was not being lenient towards him at all. Callum was worried that Fandrey would not be able to turn things around either. He needed to persuade Fandrey not to meet with William. Callum suppressed his anger and called Fandrey, “Dad, you need not meet with William anymore.”
“Why?” Fandrey asked.
“I just gave him a call and proposed to meet but he outright refused me. Rammos did call Braelynn to say how sorry he was but she did not accept his apology. William requested Rammos to meet with Braelynn and apologize to her thirty times. This is a tenfold payback for Rammos’ reckless behavior at that time. Don’t you think that this is utterly outrageous?”
Fandrey had a displeased look on his face and queried, “Did William really say that to you?”
“Of course, this is the first time I’ve been this mad. I don’t think he will take you seriously judging by how persistent he is in giving me a hard time. You need not meet with him to avoid being disappointed and pissed off.”
Fandrey pondered for a moment and replied, “Alright then. Is there anything else to tell me about?”
“Nope, that’s it.”
Fandrey sighed after ending the phone call with Callum and said, “Their enmity is increasingly worse. Are all hopes lost for them to reconcile with each other?”
Both Deborah and Angel were beside him and asked upon hearing about it, “What happened again?”
“It’s still about Rammos who had stood up on Braelynn. William instructed Rammos in apologizing to Braelynn thirty times,” Fandrey replied and kept shaking his head.
Deborah burst into anger upon hearing about it, “Is Braelynn that uncompromising? I have no opinion for Rammos in apologizing to Valeria thirty times. Why should he apologize to Braelynn for that many times when she is also the guilty one? What kind of a ridiculous thing is this?”
“You’re absolutely right. This is an outrageous matter, isn’t it?” Angel also chimed in and continued speaking, “Rammos has been working hard for the Floyd family for decades. Wouldn’t he be disappointed and embarrassed if he needs to beg for Braelynn’s mercy?”
“You do have a solid point. Won’t he feel unappreciated if we agree on this matter? Who else would be willing to go through everything just for the sake of the Floyd family in the future?” Deborah felt that Angel’s words made sense.
Fandrey’s gaze swept over Angel. He sneered in his heart upon thinking what had Sammuel said to him last night. He then took his time and said, “Let them fight against each other if there is no solution then!”
