Braelynn was taken aback by how William was very persistent in supporting her. She had no business with William and at most, Valeria was the bridge between them. She was the manager working under Valeria. William was very protective towards Braelynn as he surely adored his wife very much.
This reason was rather far-fetched as Braelynn was not the only manager being hired in Valeria’s company. It was peculiar for William to stand up for all his employees, right?
Braelynn was nevertheless feeling pressured upon seeing how firm William was to protect her from trouble. She was feeling nervous upon seeing the gentle look on his face.
Was William catching feelings for me? That is impossible, right? Braelynn humbly assumed that she was not as gentle, beautiful, and charming as Valeria. Besides, how could William be interested in Braelynn when he was madly in love with his wife?
William was very cool when interacting with Braelynn in the past. She could not wrap her head around the sudden change of his attitude towards her.
She needed to make things clear no matter what.
She did not intend to hinder the relationship that she had with Valeria if William insisted on being friendly with her. Braelynn pondered for a moment and eventually voiced her opinion, “Mr. Howard, thank you very much for wanting to back me up. However, there is really no need for that, and do please be more attentive towards Mrs. Howard. She is currently pregnant and needs your care the most.”
“There is no correlation between me wanting to protect you and me being concerned with my wife, right?” William was feeling confused.
“There is a conflict of interest. I am best friends with Valeria and I do not wish to see any potential misunderstanding between us. Mr. Howard, you do know what I am trying to say, right? The friendship between me and Valeria would always be my priority and nothing can ever change that.”
William was feeling surprised but immediately knew what was going on. Braelynn had taken things the wrong way as he was being friendly with her all of the sudden. He could not help but chuckle and say, “Do you think I may have been interested in you? Braelynn, you need not worry as I am forever loyal to my wife. I decided to lend you a helping hand as per my dad’s and Valeria’s instructions. My dad is very fond of you and would like to deem you as his daughter. I do also think that it’s nice to have a sister like you.”
William knew that there was no concrete reason to justify his decision of supporting Braelynn. It was not an appropriate time to tell Braelynn about her identity as well. One would definitely feel peculiar upon seeing him backing her up. He decided in letting Gavin take her in as his goddaughter upon thinking how he was very pleased with her. William would then be her older brother and he could have a sufficient rationale for helping his sister out.
Braelynn was stunned by William’s words and said, “Well… I need to have a word with my dad beforehand. I can only agree to such an arrangement after obtaining his permission.”
Braelynn neither felt excited nor decided to go with the flow. She was a principled person judging by how she had instead decided to seek Lamont’s opinion about this matter. William was increasingly feeling good about this cousin of his.
“Alright, it’s nice for you to chat things through with Lamont. There would not be necessary troubles coming your way should you become the goddaughter of the Howard family. You can then be able to focus on your career at full speed. Rest assured this is just my point of view.”
“Mr. Howard, I truly appreciate this. I shall have a think about it before coming to a decision.”
It was a fact that the Saunders Enterprise and Richard had decided to forgo business with Callum’s company. However, Callum did not keep this secret from both Fandrey and Deborah.
Both of them were taken aback upon hearing the news that Saunders Enterprise and Hattelo Group had decided to end things there. “Why would they do so? Was William the one who had instructed them in doing this?”
“Nope, William is not directly correlated in this matter. However, I am confident that he is the mastermind behind it. This incident had stemmed from Rammos who had stood up on Braelynn, the general manager working under Valeria’s company.”
Fandrey had a displeased look after listening to the entire story, “What on earth is Rammos thinking? Why would he not show up to the appointment three times in a row? You would also be pissed if you are in her shoes, wouldn’t you?”
Callum struggled to come up with an explanation upon the questioning by Fandrey. He replied, “Rammos did not expect things to turn out like this. He is very guilty and has apologized to me for his reckless behavior.”
“How can feel regretful and a mere apology be able to make up for the company’s loss? This is ridiculous!” Fandrey was mad and Deborah had the same feeling with him as well. “Rammos is usually one who is capable and reliable. I am surprised that he would cause trouble at such bad timing. What should we do then?”
“I plan to have a word with William real soon. Rammos have also decided to say sorry towards Braelynn.”
“Shouldn’t you meet with Valeria instead of William?” Fandrey frowned and continued speaking, “It’s better for Deborah to get ahold of Valeria in hopes to ease the tension. Your objective would not be achieved should you insist on meeting with William. You have just wrongly accused him after all.”
“I don’t think I am currently in a good position to meddle things up with Valeria!” Deborah outright refused and continued speaking, “It is rational for Valeria to act in this manner. The ones who are at fault would be Rammos and Braelynn. Rammos should not have stood upon others but Braelynn is not innocent either. She once laid a finger on Angel and is now making a fuss about a trivial matter involving two companies. She really has an attitude.”
Braelynn was not on good terms with Angel due to the said incident, which had caused Deborah to hold a grudge against her. Deborah was increasingly disliking Braelynn as she was the one who stood in the way of the collaboration of the companies.
Fandrey was also feeling displeased and said, “What’s the point of bringing up this topic right now? Valeria is trusting Braelynn a lot. She must be very mad judging by how she instructed the Saunders family to call it quits with our company. We can’t solve this issue if we do not get ahold of Valeria, can we?”
Angel sat there quietly while listening to their discussion. She was extremely delighted upon knowing that Deborah was not a fan of Braelynn. She had been holding a grudge against Braelynn as she had once messed with her. Both Fandrey and Deborah would definitely not let Braelynn off the hook due to this matter.
It would be best if the Floyd couple can come up with a way to get rid of Braelynn from Valeria’s company. Braelynn would then have no one to back her up. Angel could finally seek revenge as payback for the issue that happened last time.
She was lost in her thoughts whereas Deborah continued to badmouth Braelynn, “I am being realistic by saying Braelynn is a troublemaker, right? She tried to sow discord knowingly that Rammos is working under the Floyd family. Valeria should not retain such an employee in her company. Who knows what would Braelynn do in the future? I need to seek the perfect timing in having a word with Valeria. I sincerely hope that she would eventually sack Braelynn to end things once and for all.”
“Mummy, it’s impossible for Valeria to fire her out of the blue. Braelynn is a capable person and has good management skills. Do not underestimate her just because that she is a woman!”
“It is useless for her to be competent if she has a bad personality, right? She is clearly a mischief-maker and might even play tricks on Valeria in the future.”
Fandrey waved his hand upon listening to Deborah’s speculation and said, “Alright, let’s not talk about Braelynn anymore. Rammos should apologize to her first as he is responsible for this chaos. Callum, it’s not a good plan for you to have a chat with William as I don’t think that he would take you seriously. Let me settle it instead!”
Angel was feeling disappointed upon hearing about Fandrey’s proposal. It seemed that the scene that she was desperate to watch would not happen, which was how Braelynn was going to be fired by Valeria.
She was displeased about the current situation but there was nothing that she could do. She then returned back to her bedroom and immediately sent a WhatsApp message to Veronica. She wanted to share her dissatisfied emotion with someone that she trusted. However, Angel was pissed off upon receiving a text message from Veronica unexpectedly. “Do you happen to receive news that Azalea has been appointed as the international ambassador for the products under your father’s company?”
