Rammos called Callum in the afternoon to talk about Braelynn’s matter. He had delivered the news that both the Saunders family and Richard had decided to forego business with them. Callum was silent for quite a long time upon hearing about it.
Rammos spoke nervously, “Mr. Floyd, it is all my fault as I have been rather reckless about this matter. I’m sorry for causing trouble and would surely find a way to solve it.”
“How are you going to work this out?” Callum asked.
“This incident had occurred because I have stood up on Braelynn. I would first want to say sorry to her in hopes that she would be willing to accept my apology,” Rammos only managed to come up with such an idea for now.
“Braelynn will not let you off the hook so easily! Besides, this is related to Valeria instead of her. Braelynn is working for her after all. She would not have made a fuss with you before gaining approval from Valeria. Both Archer and Richard had decided to renounce their business relationship with us. Hence, it is as clear as day that Valeria is the mastermind behind it. I think it’s wise to get ahold of Valeria first.”
“Well… I have no issue with apologizing to Valeria. However, I am worried that William may show up as well.” Rammos was not intimidated by Valeria as he may just embarrass himself by a bit upon saying sorry to her. On the other hand, he was feeling distressed upon thinking about the icy expression of William.
It was impossible for Valeria to meet with him alone. William would also never allow such a thing to happen. Rammos struggled to muster up his courage to have an appointment with William.
“Are you terribly afraid to get ahold of William?”
“Yes, as William is rather unfriendly and one who would distance himself. I often feel pressured by his existence and I have no idea why,” Rammos truthfully replied as he decided to be upfront with Callum.
Callum sighed, “You’re not the only one. I too would feel alarmed when meeting with him. He would be slightly gracious to me in the past as I am his uncle after all. Our relationship eventually turned sour ever since I have recklessly get onto his nerve because of David. William will not let things slide that easily as you have accidentally added fuel to the fire. You would make a fool out of yourself should you decide to meet with him. Well then, it’s better for me to find him instead.”
“Mr. Floyd, I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. I shall get ahold of Braelynn should you decide on having an appointment with William then. It’s wise for me to personally apologize on behalf of my hasty behavior. They would then be unable to nitpick on any of our mistakes.”
“That’s quite a good idea. By the way, what are the updates from Emy?”
“I have met with Emily not long ago. She also thinks that it is rather an unpleasant timing to have you deem Azalea as your goddaughter.”
“Are you saying that she has a change of mind?”
“Yes, you’re right. She decided to scrap this idea off for the time being. I promised her to provide Azalea with the necessary workloads as soon as possible.”
“Alright, you shall arrange matters accordingly then. Do instruct our media company to establish a contract for Azalea as starters. She would then be the endorser of all activities belonging to the Floyd family. The public will soon know that Azalea has the full support of the Floyd family!”
Valeria headed towards William’s office to take an afternoon nap. Braelynn was about to leave but was halted by William.
Braelynn was feeling both amused and intimidated by William, the former president of the company. She sat opposite of him with her back being utterly straight. William could not help but burst into laughter upon seeing the nervous look on her face. He then said, “Relax! I’m not your boss and you are actually on par with me. There is no need for you to be so tensed as if you are getting ready to receive an earful from me!”
Braelynn felt at ease upon seeing the warm smile on his face. She felt lighter and said, “William, are you intending to have a word with me regarding Rammos?”
“Well, you are partially right. There is nothing to be worried about him. Rammos will personally seek for you due to pressure and eventually explain himself. You don’t have to take him seriously.”
“Alright!” Braelynn agreed.
“I would want to talk about Azalea instead. Do you happen to hold a grudge against her?”
“I am actually feeling alright. I would not have paid much attention to her if it wasn’t for her cruel and shameless personality. It is unfeasible to waste my time on her as she has no business with me after all. William, it’s totally unnecessary for you to give her a hard time just for my sake. She’s not worth it at all.”
William knew that she was not bothered by a worthless piece of shit like Azalea from the very beginning. Both Azalea and Braelynn were truthfully incomparable after all. He just felt unfair for Braelynn to experience such hardship because of Azalea.
Emily was at the scene when both Azalea and Braelynn were in a conflict. William managed to have a glance at the surveillance footage of that incident. He realized that Emily was very impolite towards Braelynn for the sake of Azalea. Emily even lodged a police report and the authority soon came to question them. Braelynn would definitely be heartbroken should she known that Emily was her biological mother.
William felt extremely pitiful for his cousin and said, “I know you have decided to turn a blind eye towards Azalea but she is an evil person. You might be caught in unnecessary troubles in the future because of her.”
“What kind of chaotic situation are you implying?”
“Well, there would be all kinds of possibilities.” William knew that it was not the right time to tell Braelynn about her true identity. He needed Braelynn to adapt to current circumstances and continued speaking, “Just so you know, I have received news that Azalea has become the brand ambassador of Floyd Group.”
“What?” Braelynn had a surprised look on her face and questioned further, “Is the Floyd family out of their minds? Why would they want to hire such a problematic person like her?”
“The Floyd family are well and fine. In fact, this matter has something to do with her aunt. Do you know why Rammos stood you up just now? You should not be surprised as he probably didn’t mean to do so. I heard that Rammos did not make it to the appointment as he was busy meeting with Azalea’s aunt.”
“Why would Rammos decide to meet with her?” Braelynn was feeling disorientated.
“I shall be upfront to clear up your confusion. Rammos is working under my uncle, whereas Emily is the first love of my uncle. She is the one that my uncle loves the most. They would have been a married couple if it weren’t for the objection of my grandparents and some misunderstandings at that time. My uncle’s feelings towards her remained unchanged despite so many years having passed by. Rammos, on the other hand, is the bridge between the both of them. Hence, he was absent for the appointment as he may have been helping my uncle with something.”
“Wow…” Braelynn looked extremely shocked upon hearing about it.
“Azalea became the brand spokesperson of the Floyd family due to some strings that were pulled by her aunt. She would be increasingly arrogant in the future as Emily would always have her back. Do you understand what I am trying to say?”
“Yes, I am well aware of what you mean. Azalea will mess with me knowingly that the Floyd family is her triumph card, right?”
Braelynn understood the situation and continued speaking, “It’s okay as I’m not afraid of her at all. I am confident in dealing with her bullshit.”
William was very satisfied upon seeing how had Braelynn reacted on this matter. “Okay, I’m just giving you a heads up. Do keep your cool should she get onto your nerve. You can always double the attack as revenge. Rest assured that you would always have my full support should you be caught in any trouble.”
Braelynn did not expect him to side with her. William agreed to lend her a helping hand knowing that Callum was very supportive towards Azalea. It was obvious that William had decided to go head-to-head with his uncle.
She was very moved by William’s kind gesture. She voiced her opinion as she did not wish to see them declaring war with each other, “Mr. Howard, I greatly appreciate obtaining your support but I don’t want you to stand up for me. My father has taught me since I was little to solve my own problems. I am positive to resolve the hardships that Azalea ought to throw at me. I can always tolerate her for my peace of mind.”
“That is a no from me! I have no objection to other matters. However, it is absolutely ridiculous to let Azalea have her way! Wait, Azalea is not the only exception. You don’t have to back down for anyone else from now onwards. I will stick on my promise to always back you up!”
