Valeria let out a cry and said, “Honey, I was just about to tell you the exact same thing. I think we are increasingly similar about the stuff that is going through our minds. You would know what I am thinking within a blink of an eye. Honey, tell me the truth. Are you skillful in reading minds? How could you know what I was intending to say?”
“Of course not! I have already planned for the wedding photo shoot long ago. The photographer was free last time but the dress had not arrived yet. We can finally discuss things with the photographer as we have now gotten ahold of your outfit. I have already instructed Marcus in the afternoon to inform the photographer about it. I have also decided on the venue. It might be a long day for you tomorrow!”
Valeria chuckled excitedly upon hearing his words. “That’s lovely to hear! I would like to have Abbie and Braelynn tagging along with us.”
“I don’t think that is a good idea. I will be embarrassed if someone else is watching me!”
“How could someone as thick-skinned as you feel awkward?” Valeria teased him.
“What are you talking about? You have misunderstood me. I’m a loyal and humble man from the Howard family. I am truly one of a kind.”
“Are you sure about being an extraordinary man? How charismatic of me to capture your heart easily!” Valeria winked and William laughed at her joke.
He wanted to reach his hand out to pinch her nose. However, Valeria’s phone was ringing all of a sudden and it was from Braelynn. She called and told Valeria what had happened in the barbecue restaurant just now.
Valeria was pissed off upon hearing about it. She cursed, “Old habits truly die hard! Azalea is a shameless person and keeps on doing evil acts. Her aunt is not innocent as well judging how she blindly sided with Azalea. Just let her aunt do what she pleases. You need not worry as I shall handle this matter accordingly.”
“Valeria, I’m not worried that Azalea and her aunt would mess with me. This is a piece of cake and I am capable of handling this well. I’m just worried about Abbie as I did not know Azalea would go so far. You should remind Abbie to be extra cautious and never let her guard down. Azalea is a pain in the a*s and would do anything to achieve her objective. It would be wise for Abbie to be careful about her.”
“Alright, I will tell Abbie about this.” Valeria had a contemptuous look on her face after ending the phone call. William asked with a smile, “Honey, are you pissed off? What did Braelynn say to you?”
“Of course it’s about Azalea!” Valeria was angry and continued speaking, “Azalea is trying to cause a scene again! Honey, you must teach her a lesson. She should know her place well and never to become a troublemaker forever!”
William agreed and replied, “You have my word!”
“Honey, she blamed Braelynn for hitting her. Emily might make a police report but Braelynn is the innocent one. I do not wish to see Braelynn being summoned to the police station for interrogation purposes. You need to come up with something to settle this mess.”
William was very attentive towards her request and said, “Alright then, I shall instruct my men to keep an eye on this matter. Everything will commence according to your plan.”
He received a text message when he was in a midst of a conversation with Valeria. William glanced at his phone and realized that it was from Marcus. “Emily has already arrived at B City! I have arranged for someone in obtaining her DNA to match against Braelynn’s.”
“Okay. Have you gotten ahold of my uncle’s DNA as well?” William was most concerned about this matter.
“Yes. We will get to know about the result latest by tomorrow morning.”
“Alright then!” William let out a sigh of relief and instructed Marcus about another matter, “Azalea caused trouble and had gotten on Braelynn’s nerve. Do instruct our men to keep an eye on this matter. Let’s prepare things in advance as Valeria doesn’t wish to see Braelynn being interrogated by the authority. We need to persuade Emily about the true personality of Azalea.”
The following scene had taken place in the hospital. The doctor was stitching the large wound on Azalea’s forehead. Emily was mad and resentful upon seeing the injured spot.
Azalea had been seriously injured. What if the scar remained forever on her forehead?
Emily was unable to calm down as she was worried and pissed off. She picked up her phone and called the police.
Azalea was utterly nervous upon hearing Emily calling the police. Would her efforts go all in vain again this time?
This was such a miserable outcome when her face was almost being ruined! She had to come up with something.
Azalea was sent to the normal ward to get an IV drip after her wound was being treated. The police arrived at the hospital a few minutes later.
Emily was being questioned by the authority and she told them everything that she knew. It was then Azalea’s turn to tell her side of the story. However, she claimed to be dizzy and had no strength to tell the police about the incident.
The police officer laughed sarcastically and said, “Are you refusing to speak as you have something to hide? We have obtained the non-edited version of the footage from the restaurant. Why don’t you take a look at this video? You can then decide whether to lodge a police report after enjoying this show. Do think carefully whether you are being reasonable or not!”
The police switched on the video and let Emily witness the argument between Azalea and Braelynn. Azalea was firstly seen to be having a secret meeting with some women. Braelynn appeared later at the scene. Azalea then grabbed Braelynn’s mobile phone and threw it away. She then charged Braelynn as an indication to harm her. Azalea had injured herself and had nothing to do with Braelynn.
Emily was dumbfounded as the video came to an end. She struggled to argue back since the video was as clear as day. Azalea was the guilty one and Braelynn was being thrown under the bus. Was Emily being deceived by Azalea once again?
The police did not want to waste their time further and eventually left the hospital. Emily glanced at Azalea furiously and said, “Care to explain yourself?”
Azalea was secretly feeling distressed. She decided to continue her act and explained herself, “Aunt Emily, this is a fake video! The incident did not happen like this at all. Abbie had instructed someone to forge the video and wanted to point fingers at me!”
“Are you sure that Abbie is such an influenctial person?” Emily questioned.
“Nope, but Valeria has the power to do so. Have you forgotten who Valeria’s husband is? William will do anything for her. Don’t you know that everything is a piece of cake to him?”
Azalea continued to spew nonsense, “Aunt Emily, think carefully about it. We just called the police not long ago and they had immediately brought the surveillance footage here. Are you still unclear about the entire situation? The police did not even know what was the full story about. How is it possible for them to obtain the video beforehand? They must have forged it to blame everything on us.”
Emily was somewhat convinced by it. Azalea seized the opportunity and continued to add fuel to the fire.
“You do still remember the incident that happened to Paisley a few days ago, don’t you? The video showcased how Paisley tried to meddle in someone else’s marriage and even beat up the wife who was pregnant. I heard from Michael’s mother that the footage was being fabricated. Paisley’s arms and ribs were ruined by the Howard family’s bodyguards when she was about to hit Valeria. Her reputation had then shattered into pieces. They had the guts to bully Paisley, who was the daughter of a rich and influential family. Who am I to be the exception one?”
“Are you saying that William was the mastermind behind Paisley’s tragedy? This is just too…” Emily had a stern look on her face. She was initially still doubtful about Azalea’s words. However, she was successfully being brainwashed after rounds of explanations.
This incident had made her think about herself. She had no business with Veronica in the past. However, she was being framed in causing Veronica to be infertile. Emily was confused about the situation but she was eventually being thrown under the bus.
It was a logical cycle for the strong to prey on the weak. One with power and fame was able to turn things around in a blink of an eye. She was convinced that Azalea was being plotted against which was exactly like her in the past. She was pissed off and felt resentful but there was nothing that she could do.
