Chapter 883 It’s Not Necessary

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

William hung up the phone and called Bobby, “Bobby, come in!”
Bobby immediately pushed the door open, “William!”
“Where is Ronald Brown now? Is there any news about him?”
Bobby then replied, “Yes, he took the money and left B City but he came back secretly after a while. He is now in B City. He’d even bought a house in the middle of nowhere, he’s definitely living a good life now.”
“That’s a good thing. Do you know the address? Let’s go visit Ronald sometime.”
As he spoke, Marcus’s voice came from outside, “Hi, Miss Valeria!”
“Assistant Field, hello! What is my husband doing?” Valeria asked.
“Mr. Howard is at work. Please come in!” William immediately stood up when he heard Valeria’s voice. Just as he strode over to the door, Valeria opened it and came in. “Honey, I’m here to check on you. Did you do anything wrong today?” Valeria asked when she saw that William was smiling so widely.
“No, I wouldn’t dare.” William walked towards her with a smile and held her hand, “Did you come alone?”
“I came with dad, he sent me here and went to the company.”
Valeria said as she looked around, “Honey, I came to see you. Are you surprised or not?”
“Of course I’m surprised!” William helped his wife to sit down and asked, “What would you like to drink?”
“I don’t want anything to drink. I want a reward! Give me a reward!” Valeria said in puppy dog eyes.
“A kiss?” William smiled. He was going to give her a kiss.
“No!” Valeria stretched out her hand to block William’s mouth, “It’s work time, we can’t be lovey-dovey! As the boss, you should set an example for everyone.”
“What reward do you want if you don’t want my kiss?”
“I…” Valeria drawled, “I want to go to the night market later, with you!”
“No problem!”
In Wold Group’s president suite, Angel was kneeling in front of Fandrey and Deborah, crying so hard that tears were streaming down her face.
“Grandpa! Grandma! Dad! It was my fault that Valeria slipped that night. I didn’t know she was walking beside me, I just stretched my leg because they are a little numb, I didn’t expect to trip Valeria! I was wrong, I’m sorry, please forgive me!”
“So it’s really you who caused such a thing to happen that night because you tripped Valeria? Why didn’t you say it out back then? Why did you hide it from us until now?!” Fandrey was fuming.
“I didn’t expect such a thing to happen! I didn’t mean it… what happened after that was beyond my expectation… I freaked out at that time… I was so selfish, I thought no one would know, I was afraid that William would hate me and I didn’t want to be misunderstood by William and Valeria, so I chose to be silent, sob…”
“Do you know how much trouble you’ve caused?” Callum looked at Angel, who was sobbing loudly, “If you had admitted that you were just now being careful at that time, everything would not have become like this. However, you secretly hid all from us, refused to admit it, and wanted to frame Valeria. Fortunately, your grandfather and I didn’t fully believe you. Otherwise, I’m afraid that our relationship with William…”
“I didn’t want to hide it at first… but because I didn’t say it at first, things became difficult to explain. I’m afraid of being accused afterward so I hide my lie with more lies. I’m extremely depressed, and I’m afraid and worried… I know I’m shameless and despicable, I’m sorry, it’s all my fault!”
Angel slapped herself on the face with her other hand that wasn’t hurt. Deborah, who was standing beside her, tried to stop her, “Angel… How can you do this? How am I going to help you now?”
Deborah felt bad in the heart when she thought of how she used to defend Angel and what she did to William and Valeria.
To be honest, Angel did not want to apologize at all. However, Veronica had texted her and analyzed the pros and cons of apologizing. Veronica told her that if she did not admit to her mistake, William would no longer talk to her. Not only that, William would not have any more interactions with the Floyd family. Angel had only admitted her mistakes because she wanted to continue seeing William.
Angel wiped away her tears and cried even louder, “Grandma, I know I’m wrong! I want to die to make up for what I’ve done because I know I’m wrong… I really don’t want to be like this. Please give me a chance, I will correct my mistake!”
Fandrey frowned as he looked at Angel. When William accused Angel of hurting Valeria, he and Callum had suspected Angel, but in the end, they did not choose to believe in William. Fortunately, although they did not believe in Valeria, they did not believe in Angel either, so they didn’t do anything that was too over.
Fandrey was thinking that if they defended Angel like Deborah, what would the situation be?
Thinking of what Angel did later without any remorse, Fandrey was very disappointed in her. He looked at Angel sternly and said, “So how do you plan to let William and Valeria forgive you? Do you think they will forgive you?”
“I will apologize to William and Valeria. If they refuse to forgive me, then I… I can only…”
What Angel meant was very clear. She meant that if Valeria and William could not forgive her, there was no way that she would be able to live.
The thing was, Angel was the only child in the Floyd family. How could they let her die?
Deborah couldn’t help but say, “Fandrey, Callum, both of you think of a way. It’s right that she’d done something wrong but we can’t just let her do anything stupid. If she knew her mistakes and apologized already, we should give her a chance.”
Fandrey sighed upon hearing what Deborah said, he really felt humiliated, “Call Marcus, ask him to tell William to come over. Tell him that we have something important to talk to William!”
On the other side, Valeria and William were at the lounge. Valeria was resting and William was working. Marcus hurried in after a while, “Mr. Howard, Mr. Floyd just called me. He asked you to go to the hotel at night.”
William was not very happy. He promised to take Valeria to the night market later. If he needed to go meet the Floyd family, wouldn’t that mean he couldn’t do what he’d promised Valeria?
The Floyd family was nothing to William anymore. He felt that it was not necessary for him to break his promise to Valeria for the sake of the Floyd family. So, he frowned and asked, “Did they say what it’s about?”
“No, they just want you to go to the hotel, they have something important to tell you. By the way, Mr. Floyd specifically mentioned that he hopes you can go with Valeria.”
Marcus noticed that William was getting more impatient with the Floyd family. He figured Callum must have known William’s response so that was why he did not call William but called him instead.
Marcus thought for a second and tried to persuade, “Mr. Howard, the Floyd family is still the elder. Although Angel is not a good person, the elders of the Floyd family aren’t that bad. I think you should show up, maybe it’s not something so important and it won’t take lots of your time.”
William thought for a moment and agreed afterward, “Alright, then we’ll go tonight.”
