The following scene had taken place in the detention center. Marcus had arranged for his men to send Declan a video that related to Talitha’s tragedy. Declan was heartbroken upon seeing his daughter screaming in pain with blood all over her body.
He refused to believe this footage! He knew that this was a fake video just to deceive him.
He convinced himself that his beloved brother would not allow Natasya in bullying Talitha to such an extent. He also did not believe that Raelyn, who was Talitha’s biological mother, would sit back and watch her daughter suffer. This video must have been edited in hopes to sow discord! William must be the one who plotted all of this.
Declan was arranged to share a prison bunker with someone else. William did this as he was dying to know about the secret that Declan had been keeping to himself. The tragedy was deliberately being shared as William knew that Declan was worried about his daughter.
I would have been lured into William’s trap if I choose to believe this! Declan thought to himself.
He then forcefully composed himself and ignored the footage.
He remained indifferent and did not make any move. William shooked his head and smiled upon receiving the updates about Declan.
“Looks like I was not patient enough. I had assumed Declan to go all-in just to protect Talitha from being harmed further. I have indeed underestimated him! He might suspect that I was the mastermind behind this issue. He is not convinced that Talitha had encountered such a tragedy.”
Marcus nodded and replied, “Mr. Howard, you do have a point as Declan would be dead real soon. He intends to bring this secret along to his grave and would not simply share it with others.”
“Yes, you’re right and now we have to use Talitha as a new starting point. We shall see how she reacts upon experiencing such a tragedy. I wonder how would she fight back as she is not as quick-witted as her parents.”
Marcus replied, “However, she is not as innocent as one might think so. She will not let things slide and would definitely declare war with Natasya real soon.”
William pondered for a moment as he had failed this time. However, all hopes were not lost. It was logical for Talitha to make a move judging by her personality.
It would be tough for Talitha to win this battle. Natasya was much more cunning and ruthless compared to her sister. Besides, she had a capable father who would always be on her side. How could Talitha stand any chance against her?
Devon would spare no efforts in persuading Talitha to be the bigger person. Raelyn would also agree with Devon’s idea as she did not wish to see her daughters fighting against each other. Hence, it was speculated that Talitha would not have the support of her parents.
They would make things harder for Talitha should she make a fuss about it. Talitha would obtain external assistance as she had no power and financial assistance to fight back. Who would she seek for a helping hand then?
William suddenly thought of Raymond. He tapped on the table with his fingers and said, “It seems that we would have to change our plan.”
Gavin paced around the garden in his villa with his arms crossed. He felt lonely despite Oreo and Mocha were following him behind.
The trio wandered in the garden for a long time. Oreo eventually felt dizzy and meowed as a reminder for Gavin to head back in.
Gavin sighed and said to his pets, “I’m now all alone. The both of you are the only ones to accompany me!”
Oreo sniffed and rubbed on his trousers a few times. Gavin bent down and picked him up. Mocha followed them behind and they eventually head back into the villa.
Gavin sat down on the sofa upon entering the living room. The servant poured and served him a glass of water. Gavin drank a few mouthfuls of it and glanced around the living room. He felt increasingly lonely at the empty space.
He thought for a while before deciding to pick up his phone and gave Raymond a call.
Raymond answer the phone and asked with an uninterested tone, “Grandpa! What’s the matter?”
“Do you want to come back for dinner tonight?”
Raymond replied coldly, “Nope, can’t do so. I’ve been preoccupied ever since my dad entrusted me with a business project. I need to give my best shot to achieve a great outcome.”
“Really? When would the project be completed?”
“I have no idea. I reckon it may take me some time to accomplish it.”
“I called to invite you and your parents over for dinner. It has been a long time since we last had a meal together.”
What? Raymond rolled his eyes upon hearing about Gavin’s suggestion. He had received a call from Arthur yesterday and was being told that Raelyn had badmouthed Valeria once again. Gavin was very upset upon hearing about Raelynn’s nonsense.
Raymond was pissed off upon receiving the news from Arthur. Raelyn did not learn from her mistake and continued to sow discord. What a shameful person!
Gavin had crossed the line too. How foolish of him to blindly believe in Raelyn about how bad of a person Valeria was.
Raymond was annoyed and said, “Grandpa, my schedule is really packed nowadays. Why don’t you ask my father to have a meal with you instead?”
“Your father told me that he is busy too,” Gavin replied in a sulky tone.
“Oh right, I almost forgot about it too. He won’t be able to visit you for the time being as he just opened up a new company recently.”
“Don’t you guys think that life would be meaningless to be utterly busy with work? I’m not convinced that you guys can’t even make time to have a meal with me! Are you trying to give me the cold treatment? How dare you guys treat me like this when I am still fit and healthy! Would I be sent to the nursing home if I am no longer in my sound mind?” Gavin was feeling slightly agitated.
Raymond sneered and said, “Grandpa, our schedule is really packed and we are all busy living our lives. We are not good at buttering you up. It would be chaotic if we slipped our mouths and make you furious. Hence, it would be better for us to keep a friendly distance with you.”
“How could your father raise such a child like you?” Gavin was furious and raised his voice, “Why would you make such a fuss when I criticize him for just a bit? Are you guys teaming up as a sign of rebellion? Your father ought to be shameful about his actions!”
“Grandpa, I don’t think that my father should take the blame from you. He treats you indifferently as well as my mother. To be honest, we felt like a ticking bomb that might offend you anytime. Hence, it is much more appropriate to respect our personal spaces for you to live a peaceful life.”
Raymond breathed and continued,
“You can always contact Talitha and the others to pay you a visit should you feel lonely. Besides, you feel much more comfortable hanging out with them. Both Talitha and Natasya treat you with respect and would joke around with you. Raelyn also has a knack for brightening up your mood. Your life would definitely be filled with joy upon their presence.”
Gavin was fuming with anger upon hearing about Raymond’s mockery. He snapped back, “Well then! You guys are being rebellious, right? I won’t back down and you ought to stop being disrespectful towards me! Do not force me to call Raelyn and her family to move back with me.”
“That’s great to hear! I wholeheartedly agree with this idea!” Raymond was not feeling bothered by it.
“Grandpa, do contact Raelyn right away. I’m sure that they would not hesitate to come over and comfort you now. You would then have them to accompany you and won’t be lonely anymore. You have my support all the way! Do call them at this instance to brighten up your mood. Grandpa, I shall end the call as I am currently very busy with work.”
Gavin was furious when Raymond did not hesitate to end the call. He cursed, “You bastard and worthless piece of shit! I regret so much for treating you well ever since you were a kid!”
Arthur coincidentally came back home when Gavin was cussing Raymond out. He was taken aback upon seeing Gavin in a terrible mood and asked, “Who had gotten into your nerves?”
