Bobby’s straightforward words made Angel move away from William as her face turned extremely pale, “Are you serious?”
“Of course!” William answered immediately in annoyance.
“Oh my god! What kind of strange disease is this? Why don’t you like it when others get close to you? You weren’t like this when you were abroad though, why did you become like this after a few months? Could there be a reason for this?”
Angel was furious. She was not stupid and could see through everything. It was obvious that he did not like to get close to her.
As she was drowning in anger, an idea flashed through her mind. She thought of what Natasya had told her about Valeria feeding William the vermin. Regardless of whether it was true or not, it was the best time to expose it.
Whether or not it was true that William disliked other women getting close with him, she was determined to frame Valeria for feeding him the vermin.
Sure enough, when Angel deliberately raised her voice, both Deborah and Fandrey looked over, and the former asked in surprise, “Is this true? You really can’t get close to any other woman except your wife, Valeria?”
William didn’t know what Natasya had said about Valeria and the vermin, and he didn’t want to get closer to Angel, so he didn’t deny the claim, “Yes!”
“This… this is too strange, isn’t it?” Deborah said as she glanced at Fandrey.
She had never heard of such a thing before. The fact that William could not get close to any other woman other than Valeria showed a lot of similarity to the effects of a vermin. Did she really poison him?
Fandrey and Deborah exchanged glances while rubbing their chins with a somewhat solemn expression.
“William, I remember you didn’t resist getting close to women before, right?”
“Ever since the accident, I stopped.” William lied.
“Have you gone to see a doctor? Could it be a psychological reason?” Fandrey asked again.
“I didn’t see a doctor! Anyway, I’m married, and I don’t want to get close to any other woman. It’s fine like this.”
“Sure, but it’s still better to see a doctor. We have to find the reason, right? It won’t be good if something else is the cause.”
Deborah also added to the conversation. William frowned slightly. Why did they seem to be implying something?
William didn’t want to talk about the issue anymore, so he changed the topic, “Grandpa, grandma, are you guys tired? Do you want to rest and have something to eat?”
“Sure!” They did not refuse his suggestion.
At noon, they had lunch at a famous private home cuisine restaurant in B City. Just as they entered the restaurant, Callum’s phone rang. Thomas called him and said, “Mr. Floyd, I’ve arrived in B City!”
Callum said, “We are in the hotel. I will send you the location so that you can come directly.”
The owner of the restaurant smiled happily as he introduced the specialties of the shop to Fandrey and Deborah. William took out his phone and sent a message to Bobby, “Did you get Angel’s sample?”
“Yes, and I have handed it over to the person assigned by Assistant Field. They have taken it.”
William was relieved when he saw Bobby’s reply, while Angel, who was next to him, observed him carefully. Ever since she snapped at Bobby, she felt that William’s attitude towards her was somewhat estranged.
However, she really couldn’t understand why. She was so good to him and loved him so much, so why was he so unfriendly to her?
She didn’t give up and leaned over with a smile to talk to him, “William, who are you texting?”
He put away his phone and said calmly, “Whoever I’m texting is my privacy. Don’t you think you’re overstepping your boundaries, Angel?”
Angel continued to eat her food as her anger was building up in her heart. Callum, who was next to her, also noticed William’s impatience towards Angel.
William tried to fake his feelings back then, but after Angel scolded Bobby, his attitude changed completely and disgust could clearly be seen on his face.
Callum was secretly surprised. Bobby was probably not a mere bodyguard for Wiliam.
It seemed that Bobby’s position was comparable to that of a family member’s. Angel was his daughter, so he naturally did not want to see her being shut down like this. He said, “Angel, sit here and let me talk to William.”
Angel unwillingly switched places with him. Callum did not hate Valeria at all, so he asked very naturally after sitting next to William, “Is your wife alright?”
“She has a slightly sprained ankle and is now resting at home!”
“A pregnant woman is very delicate. You have to ask the servants to serve her carefully.”
Callum reminded William, who nodded with a smile, “Yesterday was just an accident. Such a thing won’t happen in the future.”
Callum nodded, “When she is better, bring her out for a meal! Let us meet her.”
“Alright!” William nodded and glanced at Fandrey and Deborah.
As long as Fandrey and Deborah wanted to see Valeria, they would add to the conversation if they heard Callum’s words.
Fandrey and Deborah indeed heard their conversation, but neither of them answered and they pretended to not hear anything.
When Callum saw William’s expression, he instantly understood. Fandrey and Deborah made it clear with their lack of response that they had no intentions of meeting Valeria.
The reason William didn’t bring Valeria to meet them was probably that he was worried that Fandrey and Deborah would treat her unpleasantly.
Being able to protect his wife so well and refusing to let her be wronged, William was really good to Valeria!
Angel also heard Callum and William’s conversation and was worried that Fandrey and Deborah would want to meet Valeria.
Therefore, she was overjoyed at their lack of response.
It seemed that the old couple did not like Valeria. She had people on her side!
Since neither Fandrey nor Deborah had any intention of meeting Valeria, William’s expression turned cold.
He lowered his eyes and took a sip of tea. Then, the door of the private room was pushed open, and Thomas appeared at the door with a smile.
Thomas wore casual clothes today, and he looked clean and handsome.
He greeted everyone with a smile the moment he came in. Fandrey and Deborah also treated him very well, especially since Deborah personally invited him to sit next to her.
He smiled as he sat down beside her, and he had a way with his words just like William, “Miss Floyd, you are getting more and more beautiful!”
“You have such a sweet mouth, just like William!” Deborah laughed.
Seeing how kind Deborah was to Thomas, William felt numb. She was so enthusiastic towards an outsider but so cold to his wife, the mother of his child! He had enough of that.
For some reason, a feeling of annoyance arose in his heart, and he took another sip of tea to try to suppress his feelings.
