Gavin did not expect Archer to talk back in such an impolite manner. Gavin was shaking with anger and questioned, “Are you saying that it’s reasonable for you to plot against your sister and nieces? What good would it do for you to have their reputation shattered into pieces? Don’t you know that we are all in the same team?”
“Raelyn was the one who started it first! She teamed up with Savannah to scheme against my entire family. She did not back down but instead continued her evil plan to hurt my daughter and my son-in-law. Why should I be kind to her when she has been nothing but vicious towards me? I have already cut ties with Raelyn. Why should I care whether she lives or dies?”
Gavin was getting more agitated and said, “How can you be such a cruel person? How naive of me to think of you as a kind-hearted person! I don’t think you would go so far towards your enemies like this. How can you do this to Raelyn when she is your sister?”
Archer had no idea why Gavin was losing his temper and snapped back, “Are you telling me to sit back and watch Raelyn plot against my daughter and my son-in-law? Would you feel on top of the world upon seeing them suffer in pain? Father, you’re clearly biased towards Raelyn!”
“What? How dare you accuse me of this! How on earth would I entrust my company to you if I am being partial? Why would I give my company shares to both Raymond and Valeria then?” Gavin was pissed off.
“Father, you have a point as you indeed gave the company to me. However, I do not agree with your second statement there. The company was not doing well but you ignored my advice and gave three billion of funds to Raelyn. The company’s cash flow went downhill and our business operation came to a halt. I was the one who made the effort by persuading several major investors to chip in their money. I then initiated numerous projects to bring the company back on track.”
Archer initially did not plan to make such a huge fuss about the company’s matter. However, he changed his mind upon seeing Gavin keep siding with Raelyn.
“You secretly gave Raelyn some money after the company was performing well. You did not forget about this, didn’t you? You were the one who sold me the shares but you then gave the money that you earned to Raelyn, right? Well, let’s now talk about the shares that you deemed to have given to both Raymond and Valeria. They belonged to my mother instead of you, right?”
“How dare you!” Gavin was out of words and could only glare at him…
Archer decided to go all out and said, “The shares that are now owned by Valeria are my mother’s dowry for her granddaughter. It has nothing to do with you!”
“I would also like to remind you that Valeria would be holding a wedding ceremony with William soon. You used to give tens of billions in cash as Raelyn’s dowry but I don’t see you doing the same thing for Valeria. Hence, I can now conclude that you love your daughter much more than your granddaughter. Stop giving yourself an excuse that you truly care about us. We are not interested in your company’s shares and I won’t stop you from giving them to Raelyn if you wish to! You ought to not meddle into my family’s matters. I also hope that you would not bring trouble to us as well!”
This was the first time that Archer had talked back to Gavin in such a stern tone. Archer used to be a man of a few words and had a big heart. Hence, Gavin thought that Archer had no objection for Gavin to being biased towards Raelyn.
Gavin was feeling ashamed when Archer finally voiced out his opinion and asked, “Do you hate me now? Money is nothing and we can’t bring it into our graves anyway. Is there a problem for me to give your sister some funds? Why would you make such a huge fuss out of it?”
“I would turn a blind eye if she is a well-mannered person. However, she has crossed the line as she kept intending to harm my family. She even pretended to be innocent as if we were the ones who had wronged her. Why should I back down and endure it all?”
Archer was truthfully not into money and wealth. However, it was not a free pass for him to give away funds to such an ungrateful and vicious person.
“Are you intending to bully me and my family? I have no objection to persuade you otherwise if you continue to be biased towards Raelyn. However, I shall make my stance very clear.”
Archer took a deep breath and continued, “The company has been much better ever since I have taken over it from you. The assets have increased in value more than ten times under my care, right? I was the one who worked my a*s off to obtain such results and it has nothing to do with you! I am okay should you decide to transfer all your shares to Raelyn. However, it is forbidden to simply give away the company’s funds to Raelyn like old times!”
“How did I raise such a traitor…” Gavin was so furious that he suddenly fainted before he finished his sentence.
Valeria and William were still sleeping soundly when the phone rang. Archer’s voice came through as soon as William answered the call, “William, my father passed out and he is being sent to the hospital!”
William immediately got up and asked, “What? Why would he faint all of a sudden?”
“He got into a heated discussion with me just now,” Archer was being honest.
William knew what he meant, “Is it because of the matter regarding Talitha and Natasya?”
“Yes, somewhere along there! We are currently at the hospital and do come over if you are free!”
“Okay, I’ll be right there!” William hung up and swiftly got up from bed to get dressed. Valeria was awakened by the conversation between William and Archer just now. She then sat up and offered, “Honey, let me go with you.”
“You can just stay here instead and rest up. It’ll be fine for me to head there alone,” William wished that Valeria would avoid going to the hospital with him.
“No! I need to head there and have a look at grandpa!” Valeria was persistent and William eventually gave way to her. “Alright then, go and get changed. I’ll head downstairs and tell my father about it. Take your time as breakfast would be ready for you by then.”
William hurriedly got himself ready before heading downstairs. Hayden had coincidentally just finished his exercise session. He asked upon seeing William being quick on his feet, “Why are you in such a hurry?”
“I have to go to the hospital right now as Valeria’s grandfather suddenly fainted. Valeria would be following me as well but don’t worry about it. I shall ask the servant to prepare a cup of milk and some pastries for her. She can have them on our way towards the hospital.”
“It’s sufficient to go there by yourself. Why would Valeria head there as well? She’s not a doctor and would offer no help to ease the situation there.”
Hayden did not want Valeria to tag along as he was worried about her health.
William knew what he meant and said, “We should let her go since she insists to follow along. Dad, she’ll be fine as I would always be by her side.”
The servant had prepared warm milk and fresh pastries for Valeria in a container. Valeria was ready and eventually left home with William. She was not in the mood for breakfast but instead stared at William and asked, “Why did grandpa pass out all of a sudden? How did my father provoke him?”
“You should fill up your tummy for now and calm down. You’ll know about it upon reaching the hospital later.”
William handed the milk to her and she then drank a few mouthfuls of it. She questioned again, “Honey, is it because of what Raymond did yesterday?”
“You can say so.”
“What a nuisance! Why is he so senseless? Why is he so dull compared to you? He is incomparable with your intelligence and would always get into trouble! He is actually much worse than Andrew as well as Thomas. Well, I would really wish for Thomas to be my brother if I have a choice!”
