“Unfortunately, no,” Marcus truthfully replied.
“Just so you know, Bobby has got ahold about something. My uncle was in the country and was also in Misurton. He also happened to spend a night at the same hotel of the party being organized by Ryland Holdings!”
“But… Are you saying that your uncle was the one who impregnated Emily?”
“I have no idea.” William grinned while spreading out his arms and continued, “I have also instructed Jaxon to investigate another matter and I have gotten ahold of something very juicy.”
“What is it?” Marcus asked but his head was about to burst with new pieces of information.
“I was being told by Jaxon that the biggest shareholder of Ryland Holdings is named Cal and it happens to be my uncle’s nickname as well. Do you think it’s merely a coincidence?”
“Well… Emily returned to the country but had struggled to get a decent job. Your uncle then returned back to the country and established a company just to recruit her in. Are you speculating about this?”
“Isn’t this too over the top?” Marcus thought to himself and did not expect such a thing to happen.
However, Callum, being the eldest son of the Floyd family was indeed a talented person. It would be a piece of cake for him to simply invest in a company.
“Yes. It can be well explained based on my uncle’s feelings towards Emily if my guess is true, right? Don’t you think that her reaction was also very astonishing? One would normally get rid of the baby if she got pregnant after being harassed, right? However, Emily decided to keep the child… Isn’t that surprising?”
“The baby did not make it till the end!” Marcus instantly replied.
“You indeed have a bad memory. Have you forgotten about the incident that happened between Savannah and my mother-in-law?” William reminded him.
Marcus paused for a moment and said, “Are you indicating that it might be possible that the child was alive and had been swapped?”
“Yes!” William grinned coldly.
Veronica was the traitor of the Floyd family and was also capable of leaking matters out from the family. She would not sit back and watch her husband having an affair.
She would also make a move on Emily just to ease the anger within her. Hence, it was an unknown fact whether Emily’s baby was alive or not.
Marcus was not aware of William’s train of thoughts and was only concerned about current matters. “Mr. Howard, she contacted Rammos and he had no choice but to seek your help in the face of your uncle. What are you going to do about Azalea?”
It would be indeed a complicated task if this really involved Callum. It was not wise to give his uncle a hard time since Marcus could not come up with any solution, right?
William was however one of a kind and he replied with a faint smile, “Rammos is the one who should be worrying about this matter instead of us. He is stuck in the middle as he does not stand a chance against us and he has to please the biggest shareholder as well. He has to come up with something new just to save himself from trouble.”
Rammos had made three phone calls today and Hayden was the only one who did not refuse his proposal. Archer bluntly told him that Azalea had offended his daughter and it would be ridiculous for him to let bygones be bygones.
Marcus criticized Azalea for being rude and hoped that this would teach her a lesson. He had indirectly told Rammos that Azalea had offended someone who was very influential.
Rammos hoped that Hayden would agree to his request as he was the last glimmer of hope. He then received a call from Hayden, “Mr. Smith, I do hope that you would understand my feelings. I am not being inflexible but Azalea has been very impolite towards my daughter-in-law who is currently pregnant. Wouldn’t my daughter-in-law be an easy target if I decide to let Azalea off the hook?”
Rammos was feeling extremely dispirited as all three of them had refused to help him out. He was not interested to settle this matter if it weren’t for Callum, the ultimate owner of the company. However, he had no choice but to please Callum in order to give him a piece of mind.
Callum had no contact with Emily throughout these years but had always been very concerned about her. That was why he supported Azalea to become a famous actress despite not being related to her at all.
Rammos sat in the office and thought for a long time before he called Emily. “Ms. Poland, I would like to apologize in advance to you. Miss Clark’s matter is indeed complicated as I was being rejected by the three of them. Miss Clark was said to be rude and had offended someone else. I do think that it’s quite a challenge to resolve this matter.”
“Really? Do you happen to know who she has offended?” Emily asked.
“Valeria. She is the eldest daughter of the Saunders family and is William’s wife from the Howard family!”
Emily pondered for a moment and replied, “Mr. Smith, do call the Saunders and Howard family, as well as Wolf Group once again. You shall propose that Azalea would apologize personally to Valeria and hope that Valeria would be the bigger person. Let’s see how it goes and Azalea can always come back if things get out of hand.”
“Alright, I’ll call them once again and update you about it.”
Rammos then called Hayden, Archer, and Marcus once again at three in the afternoon. He apologized sincerely and promised to bring Azalea along to mend things up.
The three of them did not outright reject him which had meant that there was still a glimmer of hope. The only last thing to do was to bring Azalea along to apologize soon.
This matter was finally resolved. Rammos let out a sigh of relief and dialed an overseas phone number.
He needed to report everything about Emily to Callum.
Callum’s secretary had answered the call, “Mr. Floyd is in the midst of a meeting. I would ask him to call you back after he is free. By the way, Mr. Smith, I have something to tell you. Mr. Floyd might be heading to Misurton for a business trip in a few days later.”
“Do you happen to know about which business matters in particular?”
“Nope. He might want to accompany both Mr. and Mrs. Floyd to have a look at their company. He did not tell me about the details. I am only aware that both his parents would tag along as well.”
“Alright, thanks for telling me about this!” Rammos hung up the phone and shook his head. Both Mr. and Mrs. Floyd had not come here for so many years and this visit was certainly not a small matter. It was fortunate that Ryland Holding was held by Callum’s private company instead of the Floyd Group. Otherwise, it would be a terrible sight if Fandrey had fixed his eyes on them.
Callum would be living in hell if Fandrey and Deborah get to know that he was secretly taking care of Emily, right?
William sneered upon hearing that Rommas had once again called to suggest bringing Azalea to apologize in person. “Emily is indeed one of a kind as I did not expect her to have so much power over Rammos. My uncle is undoubtedly very caring towards her! Well, it can be explainable why Veronica chose to become a traitor too! Any woman would go bonkers upon thinking about her own husband having feelings for someone else.”
“Why didn’t Callum marry her since he was so fond of her? Why would he do this? Isn’t he indirectly hurting both Emily and his wife at the same time? Why would he want to cause trouble for himself?”
William smiled faintly and replied, “It is rare for people to have the same personality as me. Who would be daring enough to stand firm on their ground like me? I’m a playboy with a rather bad reputation but things are different for my uncle. He is the eldest son of the Floyd family and is a talented man. His reputation is very important for him and Michael is another example to prove my point. Michael is a well-known lawyer but has a messy love life. He does not have the guts to reject Azalea and then profess his love to Abbie.”
Marcus nodded and said, “You’re right, it would be a risky thing to act so boldly like you. Mr. Howard, what are you planning to do next?”
“I shall Investigate more about the bad blood between Veronica and Emily! You don’t have to worry about it as I will have Jaxon check it out since this matter has taken place overseas.”
