Azalea was taken aback and inquired once again, “Aunt Emily, are you really able to help me out?”
“I’ll give it a try and let’s hope that luck is on our side! You can always return to Misurton if things get out of hand. Although you are currently being boycotted at B City, I am not convinced that they could do the same to you here!”
Azalea confusedly looked at Meadow after she ended the call and asked, “You clearly heard what my aunt said, right? She claimed to know Archer and even said Howard family would be an easy matter to deal with. Is… is she joking around or is she out of her mind?”
Meadow had clearly heard their conversation as she was standing next to Azalea when she made the phone call. Her attitude towards Azalea had suddenly taken a turn. She smiled and held Azalea’s hand affectionately.
“Don’t worry about it. You should have faith in your aunt since she has agreed to help you out! There is still a chance for you to be with Michael and I shall try my best to convince my husband.”
The construction workers had been making a start to build the playground in the garden since morning.
The rumbling sound of the excavator was as loud as thunder. Hayden brought Lucas to have a look at the construction site with his hands behind his back. He observed the site and said, “It will take around three months to complete this project, right?”
“Yes!” Lucas continued, “Sir, don’t worry about it. The playground will be complete way before your grandchildren would be born.”
“Am I rushing things too soon? I still need to wait for several months before the arrival of my grandchildren. Besides, they would not be old enough to enjoy their time at the playground. It might take them at least half a year to play around, right?”
“Yeap!” Lucas replied.
“The chemical substances would be long gone over the course of this project. I will not be concerned as it would then be a safe environment for my grandchildren to play here.”
Lucas smiled and said, “Sir, you are indeed a meticulous man. However, you should not be too concerned about it as the materials are all recycled items and are harmless to us.”
“I’m nevertheless still feeling worried. I need to make sure everything is perfect for the sake of my grandchildren,” Hayden replied and his phone suddenly rang.
He frowned after taking a look at his phone. “I have no business with Rammos from Ryland Holdings. Why would he call me out of the blue?”
Hayden had no choice but to answer the phone and Rammos struck the conversation politely, “Sir, I’m calling to ask a favor from you.”
Hayden was feeling displeased but graciously replied, “Mr. Smith, do tell me about it. I would try my best to satisfy you!”
“Mr. Howard, thank you so much in advance! I heard that your company has boycotted Azalea. Are you aware of this matter?”
“Unfortunately, no. My grandson is the one who is currently managing the company,” Hayden replied.
“I see. Mr. Howard, I shall cut straight to the chase then. Azalea is the daughter of my friend and I have no choice but to seek your kind assistance. I have a tiny little request which is to let Azalea off the hook.”
Hayden had no choice but to accept his request since Rammos was being very polite about it, “Alright then. I will pull some strings and update you about it soon!”
“Mr. Howard, thank you very much!” Rammos then politely hung up the phone.
Hayden took out his phone and hesitated for a moment before giving Andrew a call. “Andrew, did our company happen to blacklist a person named Azalea?”
“Yeap!”
“Why would we do that?” Hayden questioned.
“It was an instruction from Uncle William. He called me and I just followed his orders without asking the details behind it,” Andrew replied.
Hayden had no choice but to call William to enquire about his decision. “William, why did you instruct Andrew to boycott Azalea?”
“Why would you make a fuss of such a tiny matter?” William giggled casually and asked further, “Who had contacted you?”
“It’s Rammos from Ryland Holdings.”
“Wow. He is an influential man, right?” William goofed around.
“William, I’m being serious with you and cut it out with your silly act. Now tell me, why did you blacklist Azalea?”
“Shouldn’t she be banned when she had offended my wife?” William continued, “She had publicly given my wife a hard time. How dare she do that when she is just merely an actress?”
Hayden was shocked upon hearing about it. He knew that William had adored Valeria very much and she was also currently pregnant. Azalea was bold enough to get Valeria onto her nerves. Hayden understood William’s rationale and replied, “Alright then. I know what to do!”
William sneered after hanging up the phone and was amazed by Azalea’s connection. She had managed to pull some strings by seeking the owner of Ryland Holdings to help her out.
His thoughts were interrupted by a phone call from Archer. “William, Rammos from Ryland Holdings had called me to let Azalea off the hook. However, don’t worry about it as I have refused his request immediately!”
“What? I had just received a phone call from my dad and he told me that Rammos had also sought for his assistance.”
“Why would Rammos make such an effort over an actress like Azalea?” Archer questioned in a dissatisfied tone.
“Yes, you’re right. Why would he do that? There must be something else going on,” William answered with a smile on his face.
“What is your speculation?” Archer immediately asked as he felt that William had something on his mind.
“I have no idea and we will only know about it after some thorough investigation.”
William leaned back and frowned after ending the phone call with Archer. Why would Rammos help such a petty little thing like Azalea?
What was going on behind the scenes? His thoughts were interrupted when Marcus pushed the door open and came into his room. “Mr. Howard, Rammos has given me a call when I was on my way here. His request is to ease things up for Azalea!”
“Wow! Rammos is indeed amazing!” William giggled and told Marcus about the same call that both Archer and Hayden had received just now.
Marcus was very curious and asked, “Why would Rammos make such a huge fuss for the sake of Azalea?”
“Because…” William paused for a while before he continued, “Someone had sought for his help. He could not and dare not to refuse it and hence, he had no choice but to call the three of you.”
“Who was the person who called Rammos then?”
“Who else could it be? Emily is undeniably the one!” William answered while tapping the table lightly with his fingers.
“What? How is it possible? Based on my understanding, Emily had worked for Ryland Holdings for several years and was not close with Rammos at all. There is no reason for Rammos to help her out, right?”
“Marcus, think carefully about what you have told me about Emily last time. She was being expelled and forced to return home but had trouble finding a permanent job. Her only source of income was through several part-time jobs. Which company was the one that eventually turn things around for her?”
Marcus replied, “Ryland Holdings! They had a new branch at Misurton and Emily was being recruited.”
“Emily was met with trouble at the event that was organized by Ryland Holdings, right? Have you found out whether my uncle is there that night?”, Willaim questioned further.
