Paisley patted his chest to ease him and the pain eventually went away.
She was startled upon seeing his face being as pale as a ghost and drenched in sweat. “Hardy, let’s head to the hospital and consult a doctor. I’m worried about you.”
Hardy shook his head and refused her idea, “There’s no need for the hassle. I’m feeling fine now.”
“What are you talking about? You scared me to death just now!! Hardy, aren’t you always in good health? Why would you suffer from chest pain all of a sudden?”
Hardy had also struggled to explain as this was the first time that he had experienced a heartache. His health was always top-notch and he did body checkups regularly.
Why did I feel dizzy and passed out just now? Why would my chest hurt all of a sudden? Hardy thought to himself.
He had also noticed that he would suffer from heartache whenever he thought about Talitha negatively and it might be merely a coincidence.
He was not convinced that his chest pain was related to Talitha.
‘Could it be that something is really wrong with me? This can’t do, I will pay the hospital a visit tomorrow and undergo some tests to ascertain my health condition.’ Hardy thought to himself.
Valeria and William had a wild night and it was the first time they got down to business ever since Valeria got pregnant.
William finally had a taste of heaven after containing himself for so long. He would take things much further if it wasn’t for Valeria’s pregnancy.
He restrained himself to not do things over the top as he was afraid that he might hurt the babies in her belly. However, Valeria was nevertheless out of breath after a messy war with him.
She overslept as she was too tired after spending a hot night with William. She only awakened when the servant had knocked on her door and told her that breakfast was ready.
William was not by her side when she had woken up from her dreamland. Valeria went downstairs after she had gotten ready and realized that both Hayden and William were not at the dining area. The servant proceeded to serve her breakfast and informed her, “Sir William is out to run some errands and he will be back soon. Don’t worry and please enjoy your breakfast.”
“Do you happen to know the details?” Valeria asked.
“No, I have no idea. Mr. William did not tell me about it.”
“How about my father-in-law?” Valeria asked.
“Sir Hayden went for a walk in the garden but seems to be moody despite today being William’s birthday.” The servant let out a sigh and continued, “After all, his birthday happens to be the death anniversary of Mrs. Howard. Sir Hayden would think of her as there is a birthday celebration happening today. It was a pity as she was so young when she left us.”
Valeria remained silent as she knew about it. However, it was twenty-eight years ago ever since the tragedy happened and she felt that it was time for Hayden to let go. It was unfair for William as he did not choose this and it would be heartbreaking if he was forever prohibited from celebrating his birthday.
The sound of a car engine suddenly emerged outside of the estate. Footsteps were heard and the servant then greeted, “Mr. Andrew!”
Andrew nodded and made his way to the living room. “Where’s my uncle?”
“Sir William has gone out. Is there anything that I can help you with?”
“Nope, it’s fine. I just stop by to pay a visit.” Andrew glanced and eventually realized that Valeria was seated at the dining table. He then greeted her with a smile on his face, “Hello there, Valeria!”
Valeria nodded and asked, “Have you had your breakfast yet?”
“Yes, I did. It is my uncle’s birthday today and I stop by to see if there is anything that I can help with.”
“Yes, I do need a favor from you. Andrew, please head to the garden and have a chat with Hayden.”
Andrew understood what she meant and agreed, “Alright, I’ll sort things out for you.”
Valeria had initially planned to persuade Hayden herself but she decided to assign this task to Andrew since he was here.
Andrew made his way to the garden and realized that Hayden was lingering by the pond alongside Lucas. He paced over and greeted, “Grandpa!”
Hayden turned his head and said, “Andrew, you’re here.”
“I came to lend a helping hand.”
Lucas greeted him and eventually left. Andrew held Hayden’s arm and asked, “Grandpa, are you feeling moody today?”
“Nope, not at all,” Hayden replied.
“You can always share your feelings with me. it’s bad to keep things to yourself.”
“You little brat, I’m really feeling fine.” Hayden denied before he continued, “Twenty-eight years have long passed and I have always been blaming William for it. I am a ruthless father as he had to endure it all throughout the years. It’s unfair for your uncle as he had not once celebrated his birthday before.”
Hayden heaved a sigh and continued, “It was all my fault as I could not let things go. William is absolutely innocent and he is also a victim of the tragedy. I was just discussing with Lucas about gifting a birthday present for William as it is now time for me to move on.”
Andrew was feeling relieved and asked, “Grandpa, have you made up your mind yet? Do you want me to give you a few suggestions?”
Hayden shook his head and replied, “No, it’s fine. I have come up with something.”
“Could you give me some hints? I’m very curious about it,” Andrew probed.
“Absolutely not!” Hayden chuckled and said, “You brat, it is a gift for your uncle. Why are you being such a busybody?”
“How could I not be interested in it? Just so you know, President Saunders has decided on a luxury yacht that is worth hundreds of millions. Grandpa, I’m dying to know your choice of present and whether it would surpass the gift that President Saunders ought to give my uncle.”
“I see. My gift is worth nothing compared to Archer,” Hayden replied.
“What? Grandpa, you’re so stingy!” Andrew muttered.
Hayden glared at him and questioned, “You little brat, what did you just say?”
“Nothing. Grandpa, let’s head back inside,” Andrew replied and grinned.
Hayden snorted and said, “Pfft. I am always low-profile when I gift something valuable to my son. However, things are different for the Saunders Family. Archer is incomparable with me as he is just your uncle’s father-in-law. It’s awkward to give something to William behind Raymond’s back, am I right? Hence, Archer has no choice but to use William’s birthday as an excuse to give him something valuable.”
“Grandpa, you’re always right. Let’s head back as it is getting late and let’s see if there’s anything else that we can help with,” Andrew reached out and held Hayden’s arm as they left the garden.
Natasya had been waiting to get ahold of William since dawn by the entrance of Wolf Group Hotel.
It was seen that the bruises on her face had disappeared due to the medication. She was feeling exhausted as she had spent the entire night folding paper cranes. However, she was thrilled upon thinking about the things that she ought to do today.
Natasya finally saw him after waiting for a long time at the entrance of Wolf Group Hotel.
His hands were placed in his pockets and it was seen that there were about four bodyguards that accompanied him on his way out.
Natasya was feeling slightly relieved as there was no sight of Valeria beside him. She then hopped off the car and paced towards William.
She called his name in a fragile voice from a distance, “William!”
William was stunned upon hearing her voice from afar. He then walked towards her and asked, “What are you doing here?”
