Natasya ignored Angel’s sarcasm, “Ms. Floyd, I’m calling you to talk about your cousin.”
“What does my cousin have to do with you? You have no right to talk about him.” Angel did not accept it.
“I am his girlfriend, so, of course, he has something to do with me.”
“Pft, you have no shame. Everyone knows that you are not his actual girlfriend. Your shameless a*s was beaten by the real girlfriend, hahaha, how do you feel?” Angel laughed at her arrogantly.
Natasya’s face was full of hatred. “His real girlfriend? You’re referring to Valeria, right? Let me tell you, she is not his girlfriend at all. She is a whore. After finding out about his true identity, she did everything to seduce him. She is indeed very beautiful, and that made him fall for her. Now, she’s clinging onto him, using the vermin on him, and even trash-talking about you to him behind your back!”
“Trash-talking about me behind my back? Are you trying to cause conflict between us?” Angel sneered, “Stop dreaming, we don’t know each other. The only reason she would slander me is if she was mentally ill.”
“You don’t believe me? Ms. Floyd, think about why William hasn’t been answering your calls all this time! It’s because Valeria doesn’t let him. She is very beautiful, so he listens to everything she says. Not only does she not allow him to answer your call, but she also stops him from answering any beautiful woman’s calls.”
William treated her well when he was recuperating in New York, but he ignored her as soon as he returned home. Angel found it a mystery for that to happen because she was smart, beautiful, and a relative of his, so there was no reason for him to ignore her. She finally gave into Natasya’s manipulation.
She immediately became furious, “Is this true?”
“Of course it’s true! Do you know why Valeria doesn’t let your cousin care about you? Because she is afraid.” Natasya added.
“What do you mean?” Angel asked.
“Let me tell you something you don’t know. Do you know how your aunt, Matilda, died? She was killed by Valeria’s mother, Natalie! Valeria was worried that the Floyd family would investigate the real cause of her death, so she stopped William from calling you.”
“How do you know this?” Angel asked.
“Of course I know! My mother is Valeria’s aunt, so I heard it from her.”
“Isn’t that too vicious and shameless?” Angel still didn’t believe it, “Do you have any evidence to prove that my aunt was murdered by Valeria’s mother?”
“No, Natalie destroyed all the evidence.”
“No evidence?” Angel had no patience to chat with Natasya anymore and hung up impatiently.
After hanging up the phone, she paced around her room a few times. William did not pick up her calls anymore after going back, was Natasya telling the truth?
She didn’t fully believe it and felt that Natasya was trying to cause conflict between them. She pondered for a moment and decided to call William.
He heard his phone ring and glanced at the screen. Seeing Angel’s number, he frowned and ignored it.
Angel continued to call several times but was furious after she did not get a response. It was daytime at home and not late at night. Why wasn’t William picking up?
Was it really like what Natasya had said?
She pondered for a moment before rushing out of the room to look for Deborah. “Grandma, my phone is dead. Please lend me yours for a moment.”
Deborah’s sight remained on the television screen as she passed her phone to Angel. Angel took her phone back to her room, closed the door, and called William.
It was already noon. William looked at the time and was ready to go to Valeria for lunch, but as soon as he got up and walked to the door, his cell phone rang again. This time it was not Angel’s number, but Deborah’s.
He didn’t want to answer Angel’s call, but he had no choice but to answer Deborah’s call. He picked it up and said, “Grandma!”
“William! Why don’t you answer my calls?” Instead of Deborah’s voice, Angel’s voice came from the other end of the line.
William held his forehead, “Oh, it’s you? What’s the matter?”
“Why don’t you answer my calls?” She asked angrily.
“Haha… I’m busy!”
“You’re busy? You didn’t answer my call just now, but you immediately answered Grandma’s call. You’re ignoring me on purpose, aren’t you?” She was furious.
Of course, he was doing it on purpose, but he couldn’t say that. William had never been so embarrassed before, so he had to lie on the spot, “I was outside just now, but Grandma’s call rang when I came inside, so I picked up.”
“You’re lying! Then why haven’t you been answering my calls from before? Do you think I’m annoying?”
Her question made him laugh awkwardly. He thought, “Yes, you are the most annoying person on earth!” But he said to her, “No, of course not! Why do you think so?”
“How can you do this to me? I like you so much and I’m so worried about you, but you don’t answer my calls. William, you are too much! Boohoo, I hate you!” She cried.
William was flustered. He was not good at comforting people, especially coaxing women other than Valeria. As Angel cried on the other side of the phone, he felt really helpless.
Just as he was thinking about what to do, Valeria pushed the door open and came in, “Honey, I’m hungry!”
“I’ll go with you for dinner later.” After he said that, he went back to the call, “Angel, don’t cry anymore. It’s my fault. I really didn’t mean to ignore your calls. Don’t think too much.”
How could Angel not think about it? The more she thought about it, the more miserable she felt, and she continued sobbing. Valeria walked towards William curiously. Hearing Angel crying from the other end of the phone, she widened her eyes in surprise.
She asked him silently, “Is this your cousin, Angel?”
He nodded helplessly and patiently coaxed Angel. However, she still cried stubbornly. William lost his patience and said, “Angel, I have something to do, so I need to hang up now.”
Angel vaguely heard another woman’s voice through the phone who was addressing William as her husband. Needless to say, it was Valeria. Did Valeria ask him to hang up the phone?
She shouted angrily, “Don’t you dare hang up on me!”
“What the hell do you want?” William was angry, “How old are you? You’re the daughter of the Floyd family. Why are you crying like this?”
Angel thought that her lungs were about to explode out of anger. “What? How dare you scold me?”
“Am I scolding you? I’m doing this for your own good. It’s getting late and you should rest early. I have something to do today.”
“Wow, William, I can’t believe you’re hanging up the phone for that whore! I knew Valeria was behind all of this. This shameless woman only knows how to control you with the vermin. I’m so pissed off right now!”
