Azalea chatted with Meadow for a while in the ward, and then footsteps came from the corridor outside, followed by the servant’s greeting, “Hello, Mr. Davis!”
Stanty had come to visit Meadow, and Azalea immediately stood up respectfully as he strode into the ward. He looked like Michael, and he had an efficient aura radiating off of him. When he came in, Azalea immediately greeted him, “Nice to meet you, Uncle Davis!”
He frowned and nodded at her. Then, he looked at Meadow and asked, “What happened to you to end up here so suddenly?”
“She was angered!” Before Meadow could speak, the servant next to her immediately spoke up and told him about how Meadow had called Abbie to be scolded by Valeria.
His expression turned sour, “Is this true?”
“Yes!” Meadow exclaimed as she shed some tears. With her beautiful looks, she easily gained pity with just a few tears. Seeing her shed tears, Stanty felt bad and tried to help her wipe her tears. Azalea and the servant saw this and left the ward.
Meadow sobbed and said, “If I provoked her, I would let her talk back to me. But I only called to talk to Abbie about Michael’s situation, so who is Valeria to speak to me like that? How dare she scold me? You don’t even know what she said! She called me a mistress… I… What we have is true love, right? Boohoo…”
She cried until she was out of breath, while Stanty’s face became as cold as ice, “She went too far this time! Archer is such a wise and intelligent man, so how did he raise a daughter like that? I’ll call him now!”
Hearing that, Meadow pretended to persuade him, “Honey, don’t call him. You will offend him. What if he is unreasonable and calls off our cooperation? You can’t ignore the company because of me.”
“But I can’t let you suffer because of it either!” He was even angrier when Meadow was being so considerate. He picked up his phone and immediately dialed Archer’s number as she pretended to stop him a few times.
She was secretly overjoyed. How dare Valeria treat her like that? After this call, she wanted to see if Archer would dare to cover for Valeria. She waited for Valeria’s apology since she thought that Archer would prioritize the company.
The phone rang for a long while and Archer’s voice finally came through, “Hello, Mr. Davis!”
“Hello, Mr. Saunders!” Stanty didn’t beat around the bush and got straight to the point, “I didn’t call you for no reason today. There’s something I need to consult you about.”
“Really? What’s the matter?” Archer asked.
“It’s about your daughter scolding my wife today. I don’t know how my wife provoked her, but she scolded my wife on the phone, and my wife’s currently in the hospital because she was so angry.” Stanty snorted coldly, “Our families are very close, and you and I have always called each other brothers, but now that your daughter has insulted my wife, she is at fault because she was rude to her elders, right? The Saunders family has always been very good at dealing with household upbringings. Do you understand how to deal with this?”
Faced with his aggressiveness, Archer laughed faintly, “Mr. Davis, do you have any evidence to accuse my daughter of insulting your wife?”
Where would he get the evidence since he heard all of it from Meadow? However, he wasn’t prepared to lose even without evidence, so he asked coldly, “We’ve known each other for so many years. Do you not believe me?”
“It’s not that I don’t believe you, but my daughter is very well-behaved. She wouldn’t attack anyone who doesn’t provoke her, so I really don’t believe that she took the initiative to insult your wife. After all, Valeria doesn’t know her at all, so she would have no reason to insult her.”
Archer’s words made his face become colder, “I blame myself for not making it clear. It is true that your daughter doesn’t know my wife, but she insulted my wife today by interrupting her call with Abbie and scolding her.”
“Valeria interrupted her phone call and scolded her?” Archer asked in reply. Valeria and Abbie had such a good relationship, so it was possible that she would do something like that for Abbie, but he frowned and asked, “Where is the evidence? I want the evidence, not empty accusations!”
Stanty didn’t have any evidence since he had only heard from Meadow. At first, he thought it would be a small matter that Archer would accept, however, he pushed him for evidence, so he answered unhappily, “The evidence is from my wife and my servant.”
“Mr. Davis, your evidence is not very believable.” Archer said calmly, “Your wife and servants are your family members, so you can believe what they said, but it’s different for me. Think about it, if my daughter casually said that your wife insulted her, would I also call you like this?”
“But my wife has no reason to accuse your daughter though,” Stanty said furiously.
“It’s hard to say. Nowadays, people’s hearts are incomprehensible, and cases of people being framed are everywhere. You believe in your wife, but I believe in my daughter, so I don’t think that she would scold a person she has no business with unless you can provide me with evidence!”
Archer did not compromise, and Stanty was completely embarrassed, so he became angry, “Mr. Saunders, are you willing to let go of our cooperation just for your daughter?”
The threat in his words was too obvious, and Archer’s voice also became cold, “Are you threatening me? I won’t give in just because of that. If you don’t want to cooperate with my company anymore, I’ll just find another business partner! My daughter is not someone who can be bullied by anyone!”
After finishing his words, he hung up the phone, and Stanty’s face turned red with anger.
“Damn it! I can’t believe he chose to defend his daughter instead! I’d like to see how long he can keep this up!”
Meadow did not think that things would end like this. Such a simple thing did not go according to her expectations at all since Archer did not hesitate to call off the cooperation to protect Valeria. If the Saunders family did not cooperate with them, the losses on both sides would be unsightly.
The Davis family did not belong to Stanty alone. If his father found out that he had opposed Archer in order to help her vent her anger, it would not end well.
As she thought about it, she immediately reminded him, “Hubby, if you and Archer call off the cooperation, will he complain to Dad? When the time comes…”
She reminded him that his father had always been against their marriage. If she wasn’t pregnant with Michael, he wouldn’t have allowed her to marry Stanty.
If he got into a fight with Archer for her, and his father heard about it, he would definitely be scolded, “I will explain it to my father now.”
