Chapter 716 At Peace

“I wanted to let you sleep a little longer! Why are you blaming me?” William said with innocence as Valeria pinched his arm.
He whined in pain, “Ouch, it hurts. Honey, don’t be so violent to me so early in the morning, okay?”
Damn him! All she did was pinch his arm, but she still cast a wary glance at Hayden.
As if he hadn’t heard a thing William had said, Hayden stood up from the sofa with a smile, “Since Valeria has woken up, let’s have breakfast.”
For breakfast, the maid prepared a bird’s nest for Valeria, while William and Hayden had congee with steamed buns.
As Valeria ate the bird’s nest, she stared at the bun in William’s hands with envy. He smiled and asked, “Do you want to try them? The ones that maid makes are very good.”
She nodded, and he gave her the bun he had already taken a bite out of. She tasted it and immediately said that it was good.
She finished the bun that was given to her, so he took another one and handed it to her after taking a bite out of it.
Hayden observed their intimate interaction as a smile crept up onto his face.
He would have coughed to interrupt them if it had been others who had eaten like this without discipline. However, he actually felt pleasant and at peace when seeing Valeria and William eating the steamed buns one by one.
He instructed the servant, “Valeria likes it, so make this again tomorrow morning.”
After she agreed, Hayden asked Valeria, “What do you want to eat for lunch?”
“Hmm… Dad, I have an appointment with Abbie at noon, so I won’t be having lunch at home.”
He nodded and stayed silent until William interrupted, “Why are you going out every day? Don’t you know that it’s dangerous out there? Who will take care of you if something bad happens?”
“I’m not going to random places! I’m meeting with Abbie at the Wolf Group.” She explained.
“You’re pregnant, so you should stay at home to take care of your baby. I’m worried because you’re going out so much!”
Why was he lecturing her like this? She was stunned and confused by his reaction, so she answered miserably, “I know. I won’t go out so much in the future.”
Seeing William lecturing Valeria, Hayden stood up for her and said, “She’s only going out to meet Abbie, do you have to scold her like that? Don’t care about him. You can go out if you want to, just take care of yourself.”
“Dad, don’t interrupt me when I’m trying to discipline her. You’ll spoil her like that!” William said seriously.
“Spoil her? But you can’t just lock her up at home, right? She needs to move around and exercise. Your behavior is outrageous! Don’t care about him, Valeria. I’ll arrange for people to send you to meet Abbie later.”
Hayden wanted to express his discontent towards Valeria going out, but William’s lecture made him stand up for her instead.
That was what William wanted. “Fine, I don’t care anymore. You’re the one who let her go out, so don’t bother me about it in the future.”
Valeria lowered her head and ate as she thought, “Damn it, this is just one of his schemes! He’s going to be dead meat when Hayden realizes what he has done.”
After breakfast, Hayden went to the company while William took Valeria to the Wolf Group.
After getting on the car, William spoke first, “I helped you solve another problem. How will you thank me?”
“I can’t believe you did that! You’ll be dead meat when he realizes.”
“Don’t worry, do you think he hasn’t realized yet? A gullible person like you has already figured it out, so he must have realized already.”
She said in surprise, “He realized but he didn’t do anything about it?”
“My dad is not an easy person to scheme against, so, in short, he let me scheme against him today. Anyway, you don’t have to report to us every time you go out anymore, but still, don’t go out so often!”
“I don’t hang out every day, either! It’s just that I have something to do today.” She snorted.
“What do you have to do with Abbie other than eating and shopping?”
“Who says we don’t have proper business to do? My meeting with her today is a big deal!”
“Are you going to discuss how to deal with Natasya and get revenge for Abbie?” He asked in reply.
“How did you know?”
“I know exactly what you’re thinking!” He chuckled, “You’re thinking too much about revenge though.”
Since he already knew what she was up to, she did not pretend anymore, “Hubby, I won’t mess up your plans by getting revenge, will I?”
“Nah!”
“You said so! So I’ll go ahead with my plans, alright? Don’t say that I didn’t tell you beforehand.”
“Yes, I said so! Do whatever you want.” He gave her an affirmative answer.
She laughed cunningly as the car stopped in the underground parking lot. Then, she got out and said, “Honey, go back to your room yourself. I’ll look for Abbie at the hot springs.”
He shook his head and watched her enter the elevator. Then, he and Bobby went into the special elevator to get to the presidential suite.
Bobby was a little worried, “Sir William, will Valeria’s plans for revenge really have no impact on your own plans?”
“No, her plans are just normal, small-scaled revenge. In fact, she will trigger Natasya’s hatred and increase her progress in nurturing the blood vermin!”
“Oh, I see. When are you going to meet Declan?” He asked again.
“Now is not the right time. Such a big mess has just happened, and I will be targeted by others if I go to see Declan, so let’s do something else first.”
As they were talking, they went back to the presidential suite and found that Richard was actually waiting for William in the living room.
Seeing him come in, Richard said unhappily, “I thought you wouldn’t be coming today. I was about to call you.”
William sat down and said, “This is my office. How can I not come? By the way, why are you here?”
“It’s about what happened to Abbie yesterday. I thought about it the whole night, and I realized that not many people know of the fact that my sister gets a headache when she hears the name ‘Michael’. Basically, only our servants abroad and some of our good friends know. Something seems strange about what happened last night. Who was the woman behind it and how would she know about Abbie’s situation?”
William knew that Richard would have his doubts, so he shook his head and said, “I don’t know either.”
“You really don’t know?” He stared at him, “William, we are brothers. I don’t want you to hide anything from me.”
William touched his forehead, and Richard added, “You had amnesia before and got a headache when you heard Valeria’s name, but you got better after taking the antidote. Abbie’s symptoms are similar to yours, so I firmly believe that there is a connection between your situations.”
William knew that he couldn’t hide it anymore, so he sighed and said, “Richard, I didn’t want to hide this from you, but I didn’t know how to bring it up to you. I have been looking for the antidote for her this whole time.”
“So Abbie was also poisoned like you? Who did it?” Richard’s face instantly turned cold as he said through a clenched jaw.
