William was not bothered by the incident at all and was sitting on the balcony of the presidential suite while accompanying Valeria to have afternoon tea.
Valeria was eating pastries while swiping her tablet to get ahold of the latest update of Declan’s news. She then shook her head and said, “Honey, aren’t you concerned about it at all? Why does it seem that the news is getting increasingly popular?”
William replied with a smile, “Don’t worry! Hardy was behind this and had spent a fortune to blow up this piece of news. I’m delighted to see Hardy willing to spend more money just to point fingers at me.”
Valeria placed the cake down from her hand and said, “Honey, how much did Hardy actually spend to hype up this news? Won’t he feel heartbroken when all his effort will soon turn to dust?”
“Of course he won’t as he has no idea about it yet.” William grinned and continued, “Hardy is willing to go all in as long as he could get rid of me.”
“He is looking for trouble to mess with my husband. Honey, I would like to know how hard would Hardy fall this time,” Valeria asked curiously.
“I’ll only tell you about it if you give me a reward!”
Valeria then stuffed the cake that was on her hand into his mouth and said, “Honey, thank you for your hard work. This is my token of appreciation!”
William glared at her as he was taken aback by the so-called reward as he had other thoughts in mind. Marcus pushed open the door and burst into laughter when he saw this scene.
William reached out to take the cake out from his mouth and stared at Marcus. “What are you laughing at? Haven’t you seen a romantic gesture before?”
“No, I haven’t,” Marcus replied sincerely.
William criticized him with a stern face, “You’re no longer young and it’s time for you to date someone. Having a partner would be much better than dying alone as an old bachelor.”
Marcus sat down with a smile on his face, “Mr. Howard, are you going to be my cupid?”
“You have to be interested in your partner even if I were to introduce someone to you, right?”
“Mr. Howard, I have no objection as long as you see fit.”
“Have you gone mad by working too hard?” William narrowed his eyes and suggested, “I think the secretary in your office is a good catch. How about you couple up with her?”
“Erm… no thanks!” Marcus waved his hand.
“Didn’t you say that you have no doubt about my recommendation?” William smiled.
“Who dares to marry that tomboy? Isn’t that asking for trouble?”
William laughed out loud when he saw Marcus’ awkward expression and Valeria also giggled along with him.
Marcus was embarrassed and brushed his head clumsily. He then got down to business and said, “Mr. Howard, I have made orders to swap Declan’s blood report with the drug analysis of the pill that was obtained from the blanket. Everyone would then be persuaded that Declan was in a coma due to him taking the drug that he had smuggled in.”
William nodded and said, “Did the higher-ups start to exert pressure?”
“I have made a call to the provincial leader with the companion of President Saunders and Sir Hayden. The leader was pissed off and had arranged for someone to supervise this matter. B City has set up a special task force to inspect this issue as well.”
“Alright, do start to hand me the pieces of evidence. Firstly, collect the malicious remarks spread by the media company that was under Hardy’s belt and pass them on to the investigation team. They would then be able to deal with Hardy.”
William said with a smile, “Hardy has suffered a great loss this time as he not only wasted his money, but his media company would be going under soon. He would also be forced to pay a huge penalty and I am feeling sorry for him.”
Valeria blinked her eyes and asked, “Honey, are you just going to get rid of Hardy and let Devon off the hook?”
“Of course not. It will be more fun to deal with them one at a time, isn’t it?”
Declan’s death had such a huge impact and it needed to be dealt with immediately. The leaders of B City then set up a team to investigate the matter as quickly as possible.
Chief Scott had prepared all the materials in advance according to William’s idea and began to put on a pitiful look when he met with the leaders.
Declan was not dead but was in a coma instead, and the last one to meet him was the lawyer of Devon and Raelyn.
Chief Scott then brought out the footage of William’s visit to the detention center as there were rumors on the internet that pointed fingers at him.
The video showcased that William had never met with Declan since the very beginning. He wrote down Chief Scott as his reason for visitation. William then stayed in the hallway before being brought into the office by Chief Scott.
The surveillance videos were as clear as day and it would be impossible for the investigation team to find a speck of dirt on it.

The members of the investigation team were all capable and experienced men. They instantly knew that something fishy was going on.

Hayden, Gavin, and Wolf Group were willing to give their full cooperation with regard to this case.
The leader called and notified them that the matter would be investigated thoroughly. He did not want to accuse a person who was innocent but also did not want to let the guilty party off the hook.
William was innocent as he had no business with this matter at all. Who was the mastermind then?
The hospital suddenly sent the leader a message that stated Declan was intoxicated by a deadly drug.
The toxin was a biological ingredient that was banned in the country and it happened to be stolen by Declan before.

Since they got ahold of the drug source, the team now began to inspect the media that was claiming William as the murderer of Declan. They eventually found out that the news media company belonged to Acma Corporation.
The public was still fresh from the news that Hardy had publicly admitted that he was in a relationship with Talitha who was Declan’s daughter. The internet was once again gone bonkers since Acma Corporation’s media company had hyped up on this matter.

The members of B City’s special task force were taken aback by their discovery. The leader then passed on a strict order that this matter was to be kept a secret.
