Hardy’s men had been guarding outside the detention center and a posh Maybach finally appeared in their sight.
William got off the car with Bobby’s company and entered the detention center. Hardy’s men were feeling delighted and immediately reported to Bevan, “Bevan, the target has appeared!”
He then swiftly reported back to Hardy. Hardy was caught by surprise as the mysterious foreigner was accurate about the whereabouts of William.
It was obvious that Declan would really be faced with death since William had appeared at the detention center. It was also a definite success to frame Declan’s death onto William.
Hardy was in high spirits and ordered, “Arrange for someone to keep a close eye at the detention center. Put the blame onto William instantly when the death of Declan had been announced.”
As William and Bobby got out of the car, Bobby reminded him in a deep voice, “Sir William, I saw two cars parked at both sides when I was driving just now. They must be here to keep an eye on us as they immediately made a phone call when they saw us.”
“Really? This would be fun,” William squinted his eyes and grinned.
“Sir, they must be Hardy’s men. What are they trying to do here? Should I head over and teach them a lesson?” Bobby asked.
“No, it’s fine. Let’s head in,” They marched out of the car.
Bobby was doing the registration at the entrance while William turned around to look in the direction that Bobby mentioned just now. They had been glaring at him but pretended to be busy with their phones when William fixed his gaze towards them.
William then looked away with a witty smile on his face.
Hardy arranged his men to guard here in advance. Did he already know that Raelyn and Devon were trying to get rid of Declan?
It was impossible for Declan and Raelyn to tell him such a private and ruthless plan. How did he know all about it?
William’s expression turned sullen when he thought about Hardy who had made arrangements to irritate him by using Valeria’s name last time.
Who was the one who joined forces with Hardy? Was it the mole of the Floyd Family or the mysterious man?
This mysterious man was indeed influential. How did he know that Devon and Raelyn were going to kill Declan?
Was it the mysterious man who ordered them to get rid of Declan?
Declan must have known some secrets that had made the mysterious man feel anxious. That was why he had appointed them to execute Declan.
The mysterious man must have known that William was heading over to find Declan as he was the one who ordered Hardy to arrange for his men to camp here.
They must have thought that Declan was going to hell soon. His death would then be blamed on William as long as he made his way to visit Declan today.
William’s lips curled into a cold smile when he successfully grasped their plan as he brought Bobby into the detention center together.
However, William did not make a request to see Declan as they entered the detention center.
He went to the hallway to play with his phone instead. Bobby couldn’t help but remind him, “Sir William, didn’t you come here to visit Declan?”
“Nope.” William shook his head and continued, “I am not going to meet him here.”
“What? You’re not intending to meet him here?” Bobby brushed his head with a puzzled look on his face.
William chuckled and explained, “I was going to meet him here but I have now changed my mind. Let’s just sit back and relax as there will be an interesting show to watch soon.”
Bobby then sat down after hearing William’s reply. William picked up his phone and sent a message to Marcus, “Do inform Chief Scott that I would like to see him.”
Chief Scott appeared in the hallway in a hurry just a few minutes after the message was being sent. He marched towards William with a smile on his face, “Sir William! Why didn’t you inform us when you arrived?”
William stood up with a grin and replied, “It was an impromptu visit. I hope that I do not bring any inconvenience to you, did I?”
“Not at all! Let’s have a chat in my office! This way, please,” Chief Scott was very polite.
William stood up and brought Bobby along to Chief Scott’s office. Chief Scott poured William a cup of tea and said, “Sir William, do let me know if I can be of any help to you. I will spare no efforts as long as I am capable of it.”
“Alright, I will cut to the chase then.” William smiled and took a sip of tea before he continued, “I wanted to see Declan but I have now changed my mind.”
“Why is that?” Chief Scott asked with a face full of doubt.
“You would know about it real soon. However, I do think it will be wise to arrange for your men to check out on Declan. It’s fine if he is behaving as usual, but do send him to the hospital right away if there is something wrong with him. By the way, don’t forget to extract out all the footage of him today as it may be very useful later.”
“What? Did something bad happen to him?” Chief Scott was taken aback by William’s words.
“You shall arrange for someone to have a look first and you may consider it as a routine inspection.”
“Alright, I’ll give out orders now.” A call suddenly came in before Chief Scott could make the necessary arrangements. The call was from the prison guard, “Chief Scott, bad news. Declan seems to stop breathing.”
“What… send him to the hospital right away!” Chief Scott hung up the phone and looked at William in shock. “Sir William, what on earth is happening? How could Declan stop breathing out of the blue?”
“Calm down. He is just temporarily passed out and his life would not be in danger. You did the right thing by sending him to the hospital. However, do remember to make a big deal out of it and ask someone to spread the news that Declan is dead.”
“Mr. William, will Declan die?” Chief Scott was really panic as he may have to be dismissed if Declan’s life was really lost in this detention center.
“He will be fine and won’t die from it. He would have been if I did not successfully find anything fishy. However, he is in safe hands consider now that I’m here. Don’t worry, everything will be fine,” William comforted Chief Scott by patting him on the shoulder.
William’s voice had a sense of reassurance and Chief Scott gradually calmed down. He immediately began to commence his work according to William’s idea.
Declan was immediately sent to the hospital. Hardy’s men who were waiting outside saw it and heard that one of the criminals had stopped breathing. They then immediately gave Hardy a call to report about this incident.
Hardy had been waiting anxiously and finally received news that Declan was dead. His eyes lit up and told Bevan, “Hurry up, tell the media that Declan is dead as soon as possible.”
