Chapter 651 Confuse The Truth With Falsehood

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

The car blazed straight to the hospital. Natasya got up in the morning and put on makeup while waiting for William to arrive.
The morning had eventually passed as she waited for William anxiously and he was still nowhere to be found.
Her excitement eventually turned into disappointment. He wouldn’t stand her up again, would he?
She had put her ego aside and did such indecent things last night. She would be utterly embarrassed if William had decided to break his promise to visit her.
She was extremely worried and told Raelyn to wait by the parking lot. Raelyn was instructed to inform her immediately should he show up at the hospital.
As she waited restlessly for more than an hour later, Raelyn finally called her. “Natasya, William has arrived.”
“Really?” Natasya’s eyes lit up with hope.
“He’s making his way up and you’d better get ready,” Raelyn reminded her.
Natasya took out the mirror to glance at herself continuously and only put it away when she was satisfied with herself. She then leaned against the bed while waiting for William’s arrival.
Natasya was anxious as she felt like she had waited for a lifetime. “Didn’t Raelyn say that he’s already here? It won’t even take ten minutes from the parking lot to the hospital ward. Why isn’t William here yet as half an hour has passed?” Natasya thought to herself.
Natasya initially wanted to step out of her room to find him personally. However, she finally heard footsteps coming from the corridor as well as Sammuel’s voice. “Sir William, this way!”
William placed his hand in his pocket and entered the ward with Sammuel alongside his two bodyguards.
Natasya was about to spring up in excitement as she finally saw William, the man of her dreams that she had missed dearly. She tried her best to compose herself and cried out in a pitiful voice, “William!”
William was on the verge of throwing up but managed to control himself and asked, “How are you feeling?”
“I’m alright, still recovering,” Natasya replied.
“When will you be fit enough to be discharged from the hospital?” William asked.
“It would be around a week.”
“Why are you alone here? Why is there no one to take care of you? This is despicable. How could they leave a patient alone in the ward?”
William was whispering to Sammuel and Natasya thought that he was concerned about her. She then replied, “My mom is taking care of me but she is currently out to run some errands.”
Sammuel frowned and chimed in, “Natasya, why didn’t you hire a servant to take care of you? If you can’t afford one, you should at least hire a nurse, right? Is the Anderson family being petty or having financial problems?”
Natasya was taken aback by Sammuel’s questions and was feeling uncomfortable. “My mom insisted to take care of me personally. We’re neither unable to hire a servant, nor we are being stingy.”
“Your mom is not a professional. How could she do a better job than the nurses who are well-trained?” Sammuel was doubtful as he continued, “Natasya, I heard that your mother’s company just went bankrupt. Is it true?”
“Erm… I’m not too sure about it. It might just be a small hiccup and my mother will handle it accordingly,” Natasya tried to come up with an excuse.
Sammuel stared at her scornfully and continued, “Natasya, if that was the case, why would your uncle be locked up in the detention center for such a long time? I also heard that your father is currently in a big mess. Is it true?”
“Well… erm… these are all rumours and cannot be trusted.
Natasya had only thought about what to discuss with William and she did not expect Sammuel to ruin the party. She was starting to feel anxious and nervous.
“Mr. William has lost his memory and can’t recall things clearly. I was entrusted by his parents to protect him and I have to be cautious of the people around him. Natasya, if I were to be blunt, you don’t even make it into the list of being hired as his father’s servant. If you’re thinking of being with William, haha, you think too highly of yourself!”
Sammuel was as aggressive as a tiger and Natasya was feeling utterly embarrassed. William tried to ease the tension and said, “Hey! How could you say that?”
“Mr. William, you have amnesia and can’t recall the past.  I’m doing this in your best interest as you never know who might confuse the truth with falsehood. I’m worried that someone will take advantage of you.”
“Natasya is not that kind of a person!” William pretended to defend her.
“It’s hard to say, as you can’t judge a book by its cover! There are people who would spare no efforts to achieve their objectives. I haven’t forgotten what your father had reminded you! It’s better to be cautious about everything.”
“William, I mean no harm to you. You have to believe me! I’m telling you the truth!” Natasya was flustered by Sammuel’s bluntness as she hurriedly denied his accusation.
William pretended to support Natasya, “Don’t worry, Natasya! I believe in you!”
Natasya heaved a sigh of relief and her eyes watered when she saw William speak up for her. He wanted to take a few steps forward to Natasya’s bed and comfort her but was halted by Sammuel.
“Sir, it’s getting late. Let’s head back!”
“What? Why are we leaving when we have just arrived not long ago?” William asked in dissatisfaction.
“Do remember that we sneaked out to come here. Your father would go bonkers if he finds out about it. Let’s hurry up and leave!”
“Can’t I stay a bit longer to accompany Natasya?” William acted as if he was not ready to say goodbye to her.
A female high-pitched voice suddenly emerged outside of the ward, “Valeria! Valeria! Valeria!”
William was surprised and he then cried in pain as he stretched out his hand to hold his head. He was seen recked in pain and Sammuel hurriedly supported him. “Sir! Sir!”
He held William and ordered the bodyguards, “Why are you still standing here? Get rid of that crazy woman right now!”
As the bodyguards rushed out to the corridor, they noticed a loudspeaker that was blazing with the name of Valeria. However, there was no one to be seen there.
Due to the unexpected circumstance, William was forced to leave by Sammuel alongside his two bodyguards.
Natasya was pissed off and she wondered who was playing tricks on them.
There were not many people who knew about William’s secret of suffering a headache upon hearing Valeria’s name. Who had decided to ruin their meeting on purpose?
She initially tried to use his weakness against him but was now seen as an obstacle for them to see each other. Natasya was utterly displeased, but there was nothing she could do about it.
With a pained expression on William’s face, he was assisted by Sammuel and his bodyguards into the car outside of the hospital. He closed his eyes and pretended to be dizzy as soon as he got in, but was actually going through things in his head.
It was an impromptu decision by William to visit Natasya at the hospital with Sammuel. He had only informed Sammuel and requested him to arrange for two more men to accompany them.
His decision was leaked out at the speed of lightning and the opposing party had made arrangements to hurt him in the hospital. The ambush could only be explained by the fact that the news had been shared out beforehand.
Who could this person be? It couldn’t be Sammuel! Hmm… could it be one of the two bodyguards that he had brought along?
William had to be cautious if that was the case. He initially thought that Fandrey’s men were of good quality and trustworthy. However, his assumption was wrong and he planned to run a thorough background check to verify the identities of these men before planning his next move.
