Silas said calmly, “Really? We know countless secrets of Lucian and you might not have something that we are unaware of.”
“I’m the only one who knows about this secret!” Gonzalec was firm and continued, “I would like to tell William this secret in private and go through things with him.”
“Is it about Lucian being a lesbian and tried to kill President Garcia?” Silas grinned sarcastically and continued, “If this is the secret that you were talking about, forget about it then.”
Gonzalec had a complicated look on his face as he asked in surprise, “You knew… how did you know about it?”
“You’re curious? Why should I tell you?” Silas said nonchalantly, “We actually know much more secrets than you expect and we do things by weighing the long-term effects. Why would we even bother about Lucian? However, we are interested in the person who she was under.”
Gonzalec brushed his head disappointedly as he did not expect that Silas had known about this piece of secret.
Gonzalec gritted his teeth and said, “Wait, I also have information about the death of William’s mother which has something to do with Lucian. I’m sure that you have no idea about it.”
Silas was taken aback and asked, “Are you sure?”
“Yes, I am. I do know numerous deadly secrets apart from her death. Please let me have a talk with William.”
Gonzalec’s words seemed believable and Silas immediately brought Gonzalec to meet with William.
William was joking around with Valeria in his room but was surprised when he saw Silas had brought Gonzalec over. “What the hell is going on?”
“Sir William, Gonzalec would like to discuss something with you. It is extremely important!” Silas said.
“Come with me then!”
William brought Gonzalec to the study room of the presidential suite. He then shut the door and gestured Gonzalec to have a seat. “What would you like to tell me?”
“Your mother’s death. She did not die due to natural causes, but was killed by someone instead.”
William looked at Gonzalec coldly and did not take him seriously. Gonzalec tried to convince him and continued, “The person who had killed your mother was Raelyn, but the drug was provided by Lucian.”
“What? How did Lucian get ahold of the drug?” William asked.
“The drug was given to Lucian by a mysterious person abroad. Lucian had a crush on President Garcia but President Saunders was in the picture. Both presidents had a good relationship and Lucian was jealous of it and decided to come between them. However, she had no influence and no resources at that time. Lucian initially decided to drug President Garcia but discarded the idea as it might have a massive side effect that could bring harm to the victim. She also had no way to get in touch with Archer, and she was then approached by the mysterious man.”
“Do you know who that mysterious man is?” William frowned and asked.
“No, because he solely contacted Lucian. However, he seems to have a big influence and knows the full picture. The man knew what was on the minds of Lucian, Devon, Raelyn, and Savannah. He had always proposed plans to Lucian and later provided her with the drug. Lucian and Devon were very close with each other at that time. The drug was then given to Raelyn by obtaining it from Devon.”
William had doubts and interrupted Gonzalec, “Why would Raelyn make a move on my mother when they have no bad blood against each other? Was it for the sake of Savannah marrying Archer? Or was it because she did not see Natalie eye to eye? These reasons sounded ridiculous, don’t you think?”
“No, Sir William. You might be unaware that Natalie was truly the apple of Devon’s eyes. It was a love triangle as Raelyn was head over heels with Devon. Hence, Raelyn was jealous when she knew about his feelings and decided to make a move on Natalie,” Gonzalec caught a breather and continued.
“Lucian had told me that Raelyn did it to prompt your dad, Hayden, to get rid of Natalie. However, both Lucian and Devon were well aware that Archer would not let your father have his way. Archer would then save Natalie by asking Savannah’s hand in marriage. They would then be able to ruin the relationship between Natalie and Archer.”
“Devon is interested in Natalie?” William was surprised. He remembered that Ronald once told him that Devon had written a love letter to Natalie, but the story then disappeared into thin air. Based on Gonzalec’s elaboration, was it possible that Devon really liked Natalie?
“I heard from Lucian that Devon was madly in love with Natalie. However, he knew that he does not stand a chance to have her as he was just a poor student at that time and could only suppress the love in his heart. He then decided to mess things up as he was jealous seeing Natalie and Archer being a pair.” Gonzalec continued to persuade William as he still had not bought the idea.
“Lucian said that Devon was a cunning man and she discovered Devon’s feelings unintentionally. Hence, Lucian decided to use his feelings for her benefit and achieve her objectives. To sum things up, Devon and Lucian had always been on the same team.”
William did not express his opinion and asked calmly, “Do you have any concrete pieces of evidence?
Gonzalec scratched his head and said, “Hmm… no. But, William, what I said is true. I’m not lying to you!”
William sneered and said, “Do you expect me to believe you blindly when it was all just empty talk? Isn’t it ridiculous?”
“No, it’s not. I’m telling the truth! Please believe me! Lucian said that the mysterious man hates your mother to the core and swore to kill her!”
William stared at Gonzalec quietly and Gonzalec soon went bonkers. “William, please trust me! Oh right, I have another secret about Lucian’s adopted daughter with the name Braelynn. That child of hers was not an orphan, but was instead stolen.”
“Really? Is this another groundless talk or you have got ahold of a sold piece of evidence?” William asked calmly.
“It can only be true since I have participated in this matter,” Gonzalec hurriedly explained.
“I didn’t know that Lucian had stolen the child, but the child was indeed obtained from an orphanage. She sent Braelynn in after stealing her and was being raised in the orphanage for more than a year. Then, she changed her mind and decided to take the child out from the orphanage.”
Gonzalec began to recall, “At that time, I was ordered to act as an accomplice to mess with Lamont. Firstly, I was told to adopt a child from the orphanage and intentionally left the child by the roadside that Lamont would pass by every day. Lamont loves the child so much that he didn’t want to send her back to the orphanage. Lucian then went with the flow and pretended to do a favor for Lamont by taking care of Braelynn.”
“Tell me the name of the orphanage!” William felt that Gonzalec was speaking the truth and was finally convinced.
Gonzalec told William the name of the orphanage without hesitation. He also provided William with the names of the president and the guardian.
“Oh right, William, Lucian had once slipped her tongue and told me that Braelynn is somewhat connected to the mysterious man.”
