Upon hearing about Natasya’s intention, Sammuel was surprised and he patted his forehead.
“Has she been pretending all along? Erm… Sir William, Natasya was the first to discover us when I saved you. She had put on a great act and I believed her. Could it be that your amnesia was also caused by her?”
“Yes! She was the one behind the curtains.” William answered with certainty and continued, “That son of a b*tch. She pretended to be my girlfriend and tried to control me as well as causing me to suffer from memory loss. Hence, I need your assistance to get rid of her.”
“Sir William, what are you planning to do?” Sammuel asked.
“I’ll play along and plot against her!” William glanced at Sammuel and continued, “I’ll bring you along when I meet up with her in the future. Your job is to be alert and keep an eye on her. We have to make sure that she doesn’t mess things up.”
Sammuel immediately agreed, “No problem. But, Sir, why don’t you get rid of her right away? Why would you decide to play along with that shameless woman?”
“Because!” William said nonchalantly, “I enjoy doing things an eye for an eye. If I don’t let her have a taste of her own medicine and immediately eliminate her, wouldn’t I be at a loss?”
William said this with a smile, but Sammuel shuddered in fear as he thought of the time when William was terribly ill abroad. Did this mean that William was going to let her experience whatever he had gone through?
William returned to his suite after brushing up Sammuel with the details. Valeria had already woken up and she let out a sigh of relief after seeing William. “Where have you been? I was worried when I realized you were not in the room and I wanted to start looking for you.”
“I went to see my grandfather’s men and we discussed something.” William came clean and truthfully told her about the calls from Natasya. However, Valeria was somewhat unhappy when she heard about William’s plan.
“I don’t like it! Natasya is a shameless woman. What if she plays some tricks against you? I can’t bear to see you suffer from memory loss again.”
“Don’t worry, as I’m well-prepared this time. How could I let her succeed?”
“It’s hard to say. How could she let you go when you’re so good-looking? Talitha had taken such extreme measures for the sake of Hardy, and Natasya would be worse than her. I don’t want to see her get close to you.”
“I won’t be, as I have no interest in someone as disgusting as her.”
“You’re the only apple of my eye. I won’t be interested in any other woman.” William kissed her with a smile and continued, “For the sake of our plan, please hang in there for a while, okay? I promise that I’ll get rid of them within a few days later.”
Valeria had no choice and agreed reluctantly, “Well, but I have to make myself clear first. You are not allowed to spend time with her alone and be accompanied at all times.”
“That is the reason I met up with Sammuel just now. Honey, I’m really not interested in Natasya by a single bit. I hated her last time and now it’s even worse since I regained my memory! I won’t let her get near me.”
Since William had been assuring her patiently, Valeria had no reason to be jealous.
In the afternoon, Natasya dialed the number that was given by Raelyn again. Bobby handed the phone to William and he picked up the call with a sneer on his face, “Who is on the line?”
Natasya was overjoyed upon hearing William’s voice. “Hey, William! It’s me, Natasya! Are you alright?”
“I’m fine! How did you get ahold of my number?” William asked.
“I got it from someone that I know. I’ve been worried sick about you and I went through a hassle to get your number.”
“I see. Are you still in New York?” William still pretended to be confused.
“I’m back! I actually took the same flight as you! However, someone attempted to murder me that night and I am currently resting at the hospital. When I regained my consciousness, I was worried that you might be hurt by others. I’m now relieved that you are doing fine,” Natasya intentionally dropped some hints to hope that he would visit her at the hospital.
William said nonchalantly, “Are you hurt? Is it serious?”
“It is, considering that I was almost dead. Fortunately, I was rescued timely and got my life back.”
Natasya wanted to tell William about her miserable situation, hoping that he would pity her.
William then replied, “It’s good that you’re fine! I’m also currently in the hospital and my dad is planning to treat my amnesia. I’ve been meeting with specialists frequently these days.”
William’s reply was similar to what Devon had asked about. Natasya had no choice but took the initiative and requested, “William, can you come and visit me? I miss you dearly as I haven’t seen you for such a long time! ”
She had reached her limit by making such a request, as she had always thought of herself as a noble and independent woman. She initially thought that William would agree and pay her a visit, but she was caught off guard by his reply.
“I can’t, as my dad has found out things about me when I lived abroad. He told me that you have no business with me and you are not my girlfriend. I’ve been wondering about this since then. Do you have a relationship with me?”
Natasya was well prepared and replied, “Of course we are a couple. How could I be so faithful to you if we are not interested in each other?”
“My dad mentioned that you and your parents are a cunning and shameless bunch. You approached me with a bad intention and the reason why I got hurt was because of you guys. Is my dad telling the truth? Are you really a shameless woman?”
Natasya was ashamed by his blunt questions. “William, that’s not true. I’m not the kind of person that your dad thinks I am.”
“Really? Why would my dad badmouth you and your parents then?” William asked innocently.
Natasya immediately defended herself, “William, your dad had a conflict with my grandfather, uncle, and aunt. He is pushing the blame on me, and let me fill you in since you have lost your memory. Your eldest sister, Savannah, was married to my uncle but got a divorce because of my aunt and Savannah then committed suicide. Your dad was pissed off because of this and has held a grudge against my family since then. Your dad is trying to come between us and you must not believe what he said.”
“What? The people around me said the same thing as my dad. Who should I believe now?” William pretended to reply in distress.
“They’ve been bribed by your father. William, you must believe that I’m the only one who won’t hurt you. Everyone else is a threat to you, otherwise, you won’t be injured in the first place.”
William felt like throwing up and had enough of her rubbish. He then made an excuse that someone had come to visit him and immediately hung up the phone.
