Paisley halted her steps and inquired Bevan as she saw him coming out of the room, “Assistant Bevan, is my brother in there?”
“Yes! But Mr. Anthony is in a bad mood now. Please do be cautious,” Bevan reminded her.
“Alright, thanks for the heads up.” Paisley pushed the door open and questioned, “Hardy, why are you not answering my calls?”
“I am occupied here to deal with things accordingly. Do I look like I have the time to entertain your nonsense?” Hardy replied impatiently.
“I would want to talk about serious matters with you. Talitha has some juicy news and she is inviting us for dinner tonight…”
“Don’t even think about it!” Hardy interrupted her words and refused swiftly.
“Hardy, the secret involves both William and Natasya. Are you sure that you are not curious about it?”
“That b*tch!” Hardy gritted his teeth and cursed. He was actually dying to know about it, but he knew what Talitha would want from him in exchange for the hint. A disgusted feeling rushed through his body and he was feeling irritated by it.
“One needs to learn the art of giving and receiving. Hardy, it’s not your first time anyway. Just think of it as a sacrifice for the greater good!”
He was about to explode in anger upon listening to her suggestion. However, he knew that things would not change despite him losing his temper. He had no choice but to suppress his anger as he was really curious about the secret.
Archer and Natalie had finally left after lingering in the hospital ward for about two hours. William then accompanied Valeria to have a light snack. He raised his arm to have a glance at his watch and called Marcus, “Have you arranged everything as requested?”
“Yes, you are free to pay Declan a visit at your convenience.”
“Alright, I’ll head over by six in the evening then.” William ended the call and explained to Valeria, “Sweetheart, I will be visiting Declan later. You shall wait for me here patiently and I will come back swiftly to accompany you.”
“Why would you want to see him out of the blue?”
“There’s something that I need to know from him. I’ll tell you everything when I get back.”
Valeria knew that he was getting down to business and agreed, “Alright, do seek Bobby as your companion. Be alert, okay?”
“You have my word. I’ll be back real soon.” William gave her a peck and reminded the servant, “Do take care of Valeria. I’ll be back shortly!”
They headed straight to the underground parking lot. Bobby had driven a low-profile car that was slightly modified. William also did not want to draw any attention and wore a cap as he hopped into the back seat of the car. They then proceeded on their journey to the detention center.
William picked up his phone and sent a message to Silas as he wanted to gauge the newest update of Sammuel and his men, “What are my grandfather’s men up to right now?”
“They’re all waiting for Sammuel’s instruction in the hotel. He must be waiting for the perfect timing to seek advice from Fandrey and has not moved an inch yet,” Silas texted back.
“We shall just let them do whatever they please. They can’t do much as this is not their home ground. Sammuel has been working under my grandpa for a number of years and he is smart enough to gauge the situation. Do not worry as he would not cause any unnecessary trouble.”
“Noted with thanks!”
William then put away his phone and stared at Bobby, who was driving. “How do you came to know about the news of Declan?”
“I heard about it from Ronald.” Bobby then continued, “I wanted to seek revenge when you suddenly disappeared. I then proceeded to get ahold of him as I am well aware that he knows quite a number of secrets. He eventually decided to come clean to me after I have continuously threatened him.”
“Really?” William could not recall anything and Ronald’s name did not ring any bell to him.
Bobby knew what was going on in William’s mind and said, “That old brat was afraid that you would abandon him as soon as he was deemed to be useless. He has always been keeping some secrets to protect himself. He was so firm to not comment on a single word with regards to the affair of Declan and Raelyn. I had to utilize my trump card in order for him to feel intimidated and spill the beans.”
“Is that so? Let’s now visit Ronald instead.”
Bobby nodded and speeded up. The car finally came to a halt at the entrance of a courtyard after a forty-minute drive.
Bobby got out of the car to open the car door for him. William marched into the yard while Bobby followed closely behind him.
The bodyguards immediately marched forward upon seeing the sight of both of them. Ronald, who was being locked upstairs, came down swiftly upon hearing the sound. “William! You’re still well and alive!”
Ronald wanted to throw his arms on William but was met with his cold-blooded gaze. Ronald was intimidated and hesitated to take a step closer towards them.
He gestured politely and said, “William, please have a seat!”
William sat down and stared at Ronald sternly. “I’m here as I would like to know what has happened between Raelyn and Declan. Be honest with me!”
His gaze reflected a ruthless and terrifying aura and Ronald was feeling as timid as a mouse. He sat down cautiously and said, “Alright, I will tell you everything that I am aware of and would not miss a single detail out.”
Sammuel was feeling anxious and paced around the room of Wolf Group’s hotel. It was finally daytime in New York and assumed that he has awake from his sleep. He decided to give Fandrey a call.
“Fandrey, William was taken away by the Howard family!”
“What? When did this happen?” Fandrey was surprisingly very calm about it.
“It was around noon. We were accompanying William for lunch but were met with his friends named Richard and Michael. They halted us and contacted the Howard family…”
“William is experiencing amnesia, right? How could he manage to remember Hayden?” Fandrey interrupted Sammuel’s words.
“I’ve observed him closely and he was very foreign with his so-called friends. He acted indifferently upon seeing the men from the Howard family. We were then unfortunately outnumbered by their bodyguards. Hayden took the initiative to hug William first and he acted awkwardly before returning the hug. His reaction was the same when Deborah had hugged him for the first time.”
“Blood is indeed thicker than water! There is always a special feeling when it comes to family, otherwise, William would behave foreign towards us when he has suffered from memory loss.” Fandrey replied while letting out a sigh.
“What should we do then? This is their territory and we do not stand a chance against them.”
“Let’s lay low and gauge what is the next move of Hayden.” Fandrey then switched the conversation and enquired, “Where on earth is Natasya? She should’ve arrived as well, right? Hasn’t she gone to pay William a visit?”
“Nope.” Sammuel continued and said, “I think she was met with a car accident upon her departure from the airport. She was badly injured and was immediately hospitalized.”
“What? Wow!” Fandrey sneered and continued, “Something fishy is going on here!”
“What? Mr. Floyd, what are you talking about?”
“Someone has leaked the news of William’s return. He might have been at Nataysa’s spot should he came back on the scheduled flight that we have booked the ticket on.” Fandrey did not intend to hide it from Sammuel and admitted, “There’s a traitor within the Floyd family!”
“What? Who is it then?”
“I have no idea! I would not have let him off the hook if I am aware of it, right?” Fandrey sneered before he continued, “I’m curious to know who is behind this.”
“What about William?” Sammuel asked worriedly.
“Don’t worry about it. You need not get in his way and just keep a close eye on his social circle, that’s all.”
“But… didn’t you ask me to protect him at all cost?” Sammuel was feeling confused.
“There’s no need to make a fuss over it as he is a capable man! He would have died long ago if he were to rely on you wholeheartedly,” Fandrey snorted and teased him.
Fandrey cupped his hands behind his back and paced around his room after ending the phone call. He decided to skip his morning exercise and strode back to his room instead.
