After Hayden’s outburst, he collapsed and the doctor immediately brought him to the emergency room.
Andrew’s eyes were bloodshot as he looked at George and Philip, “If anything happens to grandpa, I’ll definitely not let the both of you off!”
“What does this have to do with us? It’s all your fault! You hid it from him since the beginning, making him unable to take such a huge blow now!” They pushed the blame back to him.
“I’m telling you, if you want to take advantage of the fact that William is not here to take over the family inheritance, you can keep on dreaming! We’ll never agree to it!”
As they were in the midst of a heated argument, Bobby rushed in and grabbed George and Philip to shoo them out.
The two of them screamed in pain after they were thrown to the ground. Bobby stepped on one of them with an evil look on his face and said, “I’m warning you! Stop this ruckus, or I’ll kill you!”
George and Philip almost wet their pants out of fear as they saw how fierce Bobby looked. With that, they did not dare to complain and left quietly.
Hayden was in the emergency unit, while Gavin, Archer, Richard and Marcus came over.
They waited outside for more than two hours before Hayden was finally pushed out.
“How’s it going?”
“Not very good!” The doctor sighed, “He was in poor health to begin with, and he hasn’t eaten or drunk for a few days. The bad news was too overwhelming for him. A healthy person wouldn’t be able to stand it, let alone an old man.”
Gavin sighed and said, “Andrew, let your servant take care of your grandfather first. Come with me. I have something to say to you.”
They went to the car in the parking lot. Gavin’s eyes swept across everyone’s face. “I gathered all of you here for a discussion. Now that Valeria and Hayden are both like this, we have to find a way to bring them back to their senses. Please listen to my idea.”
The others looked at each other and said, “Please go ahead.”
“Valeria had been talking about giving birth to William’s child in her coma. If I told her that she is pregnant, her situation would improve. And if Hayden knew that William has a child, he would cheer up too. So, I have arranged for someone to forge a positive pregnancy test result. Do you think this plan is alright?”
The others did not say anything, and Richard finally broke the silence, “I think it’s workable!”
Marcus nodded too, “That’s the only thing we can do! We’re gonna get our revenge once both of them are fine. I think Gavin’s idea is fine.”
Michael did not object either. However, Andrew was silent for a moment and said, “I think the plan is very well, but the consequences…”
“Let’s ignore that for now, we’ll take it one step at a time!” Gavin smiled bitterly, “It’s a difficult time now, and we must get through it first. I can’t just look at my beautiful granddaughter live like that, and I can’t bear to see my old friend break down. This is the best plan I have thought of at present!”
“Alright then, we’ll follow your idea.”
Valeria was unconscious for a week. She regained her consciousness at noon after seven days. When she opened her eyes, she saw Natalie in tears.
“Valeria! My dear Valeria! You finally woke up!” Natalie held her hand happily, “I have good news for you!”
The only possible good news for her was that William was still alive, but she knew that that was impossible.
“Valeria! I’m sorry! It’s all my fault!” Raymond’s voice rang in her ears. She turned her head to look at him who was full of regret.
When she saw him, her eyes were full of resentment and disgust. It was all his fault!
If it was not because of her worrying about him, she would not have acted on her own and she would not have been kidnapped. This way, no one would be able to threaten William, and he would not be in trouble.
The sudden burst of anger made her sit up abruptly and hit him, “I’ll beat you to death! Return my husband back to me! B*stard! Why don’t you go to hell? Give my husband back!”
Her body was weak, and she didn’t have much strength. After hitting him a few times, she was completely out of breath.
Natalie came over to hold her, “Valeria, don’t move! You can’t move now!”
“I want to kill him!” She pointed at Raymond and roared, “Get out! Get out of here! I don’t want to see you!”
He left defeatedly. He stood at the corridor and pulled his hair. Up to now, Archer, Gavin, and Natalie had not said a word to him.
He knew that they thought that it was hopeless to scold him.
He regretted it a lot and he had never felt like this before!
But there was no use in regretting, right?
In the ward, Valeria closed her eyes and laid down again. Natalie massaged her head and said, “Valeria, I have a good news for you!”
She didn’t react at all. It was as if the person who just got up to scold Raymond just now was not her.
Natalie wiped the corners of her eyes and said, “Do you know that you’re are pregnant?”
The news made her open her eyes widely and she looked straight at Natalie.
Fortunately, Natalie was used to situations like these. An ordinary person would not be able to hold up like this at all.
“It’s true, you’re really pregnant! You have William’s child in your belly!”
“Really?” Her voice was extremely hoarse.
“Yeah!”
“I don’t believe it!” She shook her head. She had been trying so hard to have a child, but it was never successful. She didn’t believe that she would get pregnant at this time, no matter what.
“I’m not lying. They found out when they took your blood the other day. You’ve been pregnant for more than ten days!”
“Mom, don’t try to fool me! It’s impossible!”
“I’m not fooling you! I really am not!”
“Fine, then do another blood test for me, and let me look at the whole process! If the results are positive, I will believe you!”
Natalie didn’t expect that she wouldn’t buy it, but now there was no turning back. She could only hope that Gavin and Archer would arrange everything properly without flaws.
The hospital staff came to draw her blood. Valeria held onto the sample and sat in the wheelchair while being pushed into the procedure room.
She was extremely weak at first, but she insisted on sitting on the chair to look at the examiner.
No one expected that she would stare at the blood test so tenaciously, so there was no way to cheat. After an hour, the test results came out. The test operator had a surprised look on his face, “Congratulations! You’re really pregnant!”
The results were given to her, and she trembled as she hold on to the sheet. She didn’t believe that she was pregnant. How was that possible?
Natalie and Abbie also did not expect her to be pregnant either. They sighed in relief and looked at each other. Valeria who was holding the results had already used up all her strength and she passed out.
