Seeing Charles jumping up, Savannah was shocked. Raelyn also knew that he was serious. “Mr. Howard, you’d better deal with this right now. Otherwise, the consequences will be unimaginable.”
“I’m going to the hospital right now!” He got up and left immediately. He ran down the stairs while calling for his driver and bodyguard. “Where are you two? Come out now. Let’s go to the hospital immediately! Hurry!”
Savannah laughed coldly as she heard the chaos downstairs. She stared at Raelyn unfriendly and said, “I was going to look for you today, so it’s great that you’re already here. So, why were you coercing me to commit suicide?”
“How could you ask me this question? We have been friends for so many years, and I have no reason to do that to you. It’s so disappointing to hear you ask me this,”
Raelyn sneered in her heart as she put on a solemn expression. “I did all of this for your good. Think about everything I have done over the years. Have I ever done anything bad to you?”
Savannah didn’t say anything, so Raelyn continued, “Think about our relationship. We’ve been best friends since we were kids and we’re as close as sisters. Since you liked my brother, I helped you with no hesitation. What’s the extent to my helpfulness? I would even kill for you! How could you doubt me like that? Savannah, you’ve really broken my heart.”
Looking at her sad face, Savannah hesitated a little. Was Charles wrong?
Raelyn had indeed grown up with her. They always had a good relationship and were as close as sisters.
She liked Archer, and after Raelyn found out about it, she did everything she could to help her. Even when he didn’t like her, Raelyn gave her advice and helped her deal with Natalie, creating a lie that they had drunkenly slept together. In order to let her marry Archer, she also set up a fake pregnancy for her. She basically paved the way for her to marry Archer with the death of William’s mother.
Without Raelyn’s help, all of her accomplishments this far would have been impossible. At least before this, she had never done anything to hurt her and everything she had done was for her benefit.
Thinking of this, the resentment in her heart subsided considerably. Raelyn sighed when she saw that her expression had eased, “Savannah, do you suspect that I asked you to pretend to commit suicide so that I could take advantage of the situation to deal with you? Did you think that I wanted to push all the blame on you so that I could be free?”
“Did you not?”
“Of course not. We’ve never been enemies, and we’ve always been best friends! I’ve always been helping you out with my schemes, so I didn’t expect you to misunderstand me like this. As your good friend for so many years, I’ve done all this for you. How could you think of me like this? I’m really very disappointed in you.”
She put on a heartbroken expression and said, “Since you don’t trust me, there is nothing more to say. I wanted to help you, but I guess I’m a fool for treating you like my sister and still have you doubt me.”
Savannah felt dizzy and confused by Raelyn’s actions. She never suspected Raelyn to push the blame on her until Charles reminded her of the possibility. When she heard Raelyn’s words, she felt a little ashamed and said, “I’m sorry, I’m in a bad mood!”
Upon seeing her apologize, Raelyn sighed and said, “Seeing as we’ve been together for so many years and you’ve suffered so much, I won’t hold it against you. By the way, now that our plan has failed, do you have any other ideas?”
“What else can I do? My dad is still angry for falling into William’s trap yesterday night. Now, I can only put on an act to get his pity.”
“I’m afraid that your dad won’t fall for it easily. We didn’t expect William to be so sneaky. If we knew that he was so powerful, we would’ve had our guard against him more. Speaking of which, the plan failed because I didn’t scheme well enough, so I will take responsibility for it.”
Looking at her self-blame, Savannah felt even more guilty. She had a migraine, and the side effects of her cold made her lose her ability to think clearly. She asked Raelyn subconsciously, “Do you think I can still turn the tables? What do I have to do to let my dad forgive me?”
“There’s nothing I can do now either. It’s all up to him. But you’re his only daughter, so I don’t think he’ll do anything to you even if he’s angry now.”
“That’s not what my brother said, he mentioned that my dad is a cruel man. If I dare to fool him like this, he will definitely not forgive me.”
“No, I think he will forgive you as you look so miserable. Why don’t you go and beg him right now? Make use of the time when you are ill. It’s the perfect look for moving people.”
“He ignored me even after I pretended to faint last night. He’s still furious about last night, so I doubt that he would even bat me an eye.”
“Just make a big fuss and get on your knees to beg him. I don’t believe that he won’t be moved at all.”
“Well… I think it’s better to discuss this with my brother.”
“Okay, you can discuss it with him. I will go first. You can rest assured that I will help you find a way, okay? I will let you know after I think about it.”
When Raelyn left the room, Ashley followed her to send her off. With no one around, Raelyn whispered to her, “Charles won’t come back. When Hayden gets the news, he will also rush there. Tonight is your chance! It’s the perfect time!”
“Don’t worry, Madam. I won’t let you down!”
The two of them tacitly said a few words and Raelyn finally got on the car and left.
Charles rushed to the hospital with his bodyguards, and he had driven through more than ten red lights along the way.
Charles was really anxious and prayed that Elizabeth had just woken up and was as useless as Julie. Hence, Lamont and Mason would get no useful information out of her.
However, his prayer was useless. When he rushed to the ward, he found her leaning against the bed and didn’t look like a dying person at all.
Other than Lamont and Mason, Andrew was also present. Charles’ heart sank when he saw him.
Didn’t they say that only Lamont and Mason would come? Why was Andrew here as well?
Elizabeth, who was lying on the bed, looked at Charles who was out of breath with a mocking smirk plastered across her face. “Charles, are you disappointed that I’m not dead?”
He subconsciously retorted, “What are you talking about? Did you hurt your brain in the crash?”
“Haha, you hoped for that, didn’t you? But God won’t do as you wish. Evil will be rewarded with evil, and good will be rewarded with good. Well, karma is a b*tch!”
After she finished speaking, she looked away from Charles and turned to Lamont. “I’ve said what I had to say. Now it’s his turn.”
This made him look at Lamont. He realized that Lamont had been holding a recording pen in his hand, and he rushed in angrily. “You b*tch, what did you say to him?”
She laughed heartily and said, “I’ve already told him about what you and I did back then. Your supposed wife was killed by us. It’s time for you to confess your crimes too!”
