Raelyn knew what did Natasya mean, so Raelyn held back the urge to tell Natasya about these past few days while still in the presence of the bodyguards. They chatted comfortably until they reached the hotel.
Raelyn let out a sigh as she closed the door and said, “I can’t take it anymore. I’m so pissed!”
Then, she told Natasya all about how Gavin and Archer had been treating her, as well as the infuriating incidents that happened these few days.
Natasya listened to her hardships while pouring them glasses of water. She only spoke after Raelyn had finished complaining.
“I know Abbie and was close to her back then. She is not particularly great at keeping secrets, but I have not heard about Valeria before. I shall get a good look at her during the party tonight.”
“You should. You would then see how annoying she is,” Raelyn’s anger boiled when Valeria was brought up and continued, “She looks as b*tchy as her mother Natalie. They’re both f*cking pretentious!”
“Does that mean Valeria is pretty as well?” Natasya interrupted. She had met Natalie once, and she had been in awe of her beauty back then, so she assumed that Valeria was pretty too, since Raelyn said that they looked alike.
“How could she have gotten William in her hands if it weren’t for that pretty face of hers? Just in case you have forgotten, William is the president of Wolf Group. How blessed the both of them are, one managed to steal my brother’s heart away, while the other got married to William Howard…”
“Mummy, that’s enough. Complaining doesn’t solve anything, so let’s try to be the bigger person here. You should plan things in the long term, and do you know that jealousy is a disease?”
Raelyn’s expression turned sullen when Natasya did not take her side, but Natasya ignored her attitude and continued, “By the way, what do you mean by you have a big plan in stored for today?”
Upon this, Raelyn told her about how Savannah was going to cause chaos at the party tonight. Natasya frowned and asked, “Are you sure she’s that easy to be manipulated? I think you are taking things too lightly.”
Raelyn smiled confidently and said, “Of course not. That’s why I had only asked her to put her video out there. As for the rest, it’ll be taken care of anyway. So it doesn’t matter if she’s willing or not.”
“And who would that be? Is it Ashley?”
“You’re right. I met with Ashley, and may have ‘accidentally’ leaked some information to her, including the truth behind Paxton’s death and some stuff about Julie. She is a smart woman, she’ll know what to do. Savannah is no longer any use to her now, and only by obeying me would she be able to survive.”
“So that means her seeking revenge for her father is just an excuse, and she’s doing this for something else. However, Ashley is not someone loyal. You should be careful, you know. She might stab you in the back,” Natasya reminded her.
“Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing!”
“Yeah, I think your plan would be successful. Anyway, let’s talk about tonight’s party. Is my dress ready?”
“Of course. Your uncle and grandfather had spared no efforts to put this party together for the sake of Valeria and Natalie. It would be a big event as anyone who’s anyone will be there. Of course, my daughter should make an appearance that would sweep everyone off their feet tonight,” Raelyn replied with a smile.
“I’ll take a bath and fill up my stomach, or else I wouldn’t have the energy to achieve your expectations,” Natasya said as she stood up and went into the bathroom.
As she left, Raelyn stared at Natasya’s direction and let out a sigh. Natasya did not mention a word about Talitha since she arrived, and Raelyn was a little upset at her coldness.
After all, they were twin sisters, and blood was thicker than water. Although they did not grow up together and weren’t that close, Natasya knew that Talitha had suffered an injury, so how could she be so cold-hearted? She didn’t even ask about how she was right now.
Meanwhile, Braelynn was at the Central South Building as she put away the documents into the drawer. At this moment, Lucian gave her a call, “Hi Braelynn, are you ready for the party tonight?”
“There’s not much to prepare, though?” Braelynn replied nonchalantly.
“What do you mean there isn’t much to prepare? It’s going to be a big party tonight as all the important people will be attending. You do know that you’re no longer a young girl anymore, right? You should doll yourself up, and you might be able to meet your prince charming tonight…”
“Mom, I don’t intend to get married, okay? I’m fine being alone!” Braelynn interrupted her.
“But…” Lucian was taken aback by Braelynn’s reaction. Could it be that her daughter had the same sexual orientation as her? Lucian was worried, but could not do anything about it, so she changed the topic instead, “We’ll sit back and enjoy the drama that is bound to happen tonight. Savannah would definitely try to ruin things for President Garcia and Ms. Brown.”
To this, Braelynn replied calmly, “What harm could she cause when she no longer has a big influence? She won’t succeed, not with President Saunders and Sir Gavin being there.”
“You’re right, but we should still be on our toes. I know Savannah quite well, and she tends to take extreme measures. I think it’s better to warn President Garcia and Ms. Brown about her.”
“What do you think she’s planning for tonight?” Braelynn asked.
“I have no idea, but I guess she won’t accept her defeat this easily. I think she might come between Sir Hayden and the Saunders family in hopes to stir up a fight?” Lucian replied deliberately as she had already known what was under Raelyn’s sleeve from Devon.
“I see. We’ll see how it goes, then. I have to go now, I have things to do,” Braelyn smiled coldly as she ended the call and was lost in her thoughts for a split second. Just then, footsteps and the voice of her secretary could be heard, “Mr. Clark, this way please!”
Then, Richard dashingly appeared as the doors were pushed open. Upon the sight of him, Braelynn sensed that something was not right but managed to squeeze a forceful smile and asked, “Mr. Clark, to what do I owe the pleasure?”
“I have some business that I wanted to discuss with you. President Saunders, aren’t you going to welcome me?” Richard marched towards Braelynn confidently.
“Of course! Mr. Clark, please come over and have a seat!” Braelynn stood up politely and signaled her secretary to prepare some tea.
The doors were closed after the secretary sent over a fresh pot of tea. Braelynn looked at Richard and asked, “Mr. Clark, what do you wish to discuss about?”
“I’ve told you about it on the phone yesterday, but have you already forgotten about it, President Saunders? It looks like you have a lot in your mind,” Richard looked at Braelynn with a smile.
Braelynn was flustered as she replied, “Is it about the party tonight? I don’t think I have the time for that.”
“Is that so? I have just gotten off the phone with Valeria and she told me that your schedule is cleared for tonight. Did you have your appointments mixed up?”
Braelynn was embarrassed as she was caught red-handed by Richard, who certainly did do his homework before visiting Braelynn. Braelynn had no other excuse now, so she replied, “I must have gotten it wrong then. I apologize for being forgetful, as usual.”
“Yes, that must be it. Since your schedule is out of the way, what do you say about tonight’s party?” Richard stared at Braelynn with a faint smile.
“Well… I’ll be there,” With Richard not taking his eyes off her, Braelynn had no choice but to give in.
At this, Richard replied with a smirk, “It’s getting late. I’ll just wait for President Saunders here, and we shall head over to the party together.”
Braelynn refused instantaneously, “Oh no, that wouldn’t be necessary! I plan to attend the party together with President Brown.”
“Don’t worry about it, President Brown is already there with her husband as we speak. Oh, she told me to take good care of you on the phone just now, as there would be many men at the party later. We wouldn’t want guys cozying up to you, right? Considering how gorgeous you are.”
Braelynn’s expression darkened instantly, but Richard didn’t seem to notice as he placed a paper bag that he had brought with him onto the table in front of Braelynn. He then continued, “President Brown had also informed me to bring you a dress for the party tonight. You should give it a try.”
