Due to the spread of the celebrity rumors by the Saunders family’s PR Department, the gossip on Talitha and Paisley had died down. By the following morning, the news had already lost its place on the top trending list.
Raelyn, who had been up all night keeping an eye on the trending news, could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
The nerve-racking night left her exhausted. Without taking a shower or changing out of her clothes, she collapsed into bed and fell fast asleep.
Just as she was entering into a deep sleep, the loud knocking on her door woke her with a start.
Seething with rage, Raelyn violently yanked the door open to see Savannah standing in front of the door. Her face was tightly concealed.
At the sight of Savannah, Raelyn suppressed her anger. Then, she stepped aside to allow Savannah to enter, “What’s the matter?”
“I heard Charles say that you’re here, so I came to see you.”
“Wow, you really do have perfect timing. You didn’t come to help me last night when I was in dire need of help. So why did you come and interrupt my rest now that the gossip has died down?” Raelyn asked in annoyance before she yawned loudly.
Savannah showed no regard for Raelyn’s poor attitude but instead explained with a smile,”I didn’t know that you were here last night. And even if I’d known, I wouldn’t have been able to come.
“Oh, please. It isn’t like someone has bound your feet together,” Raelyn sneered. “Even if they did, I don’t believe that you hadn’t caught the news about Talitha at all. And yet, you couldn’t even give me a call to ask me how I was doing. I’m starting to doubt that our many years of friendship mean nothing to you!”
“I really don’t have the time to read the news now. To be honest, I feel like I’m better off dead right now,” Savannah spat as she removed her hat, mask, and sunglasses. Then, she threw them all onto the coffee table, revealing the marks on her neck.
Raelyn’s eyes widened in horror as she saw them, “What happened to you?”
“Ronald did this. That f*cking b*stard! I feel like trash right now, having to serve that sick man like a wh*re every day, or else he’s going to publish that video about me.”
“What… What? How dare he!” Raelyn found it hard to stomach. “What about Charles and your dad? Didn’t they help you take care of Ronald?”
Raelyn sneered, “My dad? Forget about him. And as for Charles, he’s in hot water himself anyway. He doesn’t have the time for me.”
“But this is unbelievable… I mean, Ronald is just a man who relied on women to climb to where he stands now. What is he even capable of? Wouldn’t it be easy to just find someone to take care of him?”
“If only it could be that simple,” Savannah smiled wryly. “I can’t kill him. That a*shole set the video to be posted at a scheduled time on a website, and he changes the uploading time every day. So, it means that he can’t die, or else the video will be automatically published, which will destroy my reputation completely.”
“D*mn it, I underestimated Ronald. I can’t believe he’s that cruel!” Raelyn was truly shocked by the news. His move was brutal, to say the least. Savannah dared not make a move, and no one else could either. After all, if the video was uploaded, not only would Savannah lose everything, but she would also be investigated for Ronald’s death.
“That’s why I can’t do anything to him now! I’ve been going to him and let him torture me as he wants every day lately to find out his account and password, thinking that I could finally kill him off once I got it. But do you know how twisted he is? That f*cking psychopath has more than a dozen accounts!”
“And you’re just going to give up like that?” Raelyn asked.
“I’m still trying to come up with something. There’s always a way… I mean, there’s no way I’m going to let that b*stard make me suffer forever!”
Despite seeing the vengeance look on Savannah, Raelyn was hand-tied. Of course, Savannah hadn’t come all the way to see Raelyn just to complain about Ronald, so she continued, “So, what are you going to do about Talitha? Are you just going to let Richard disrespect you like that? What did your dad and Archer say?”
“I don’t know… I’m not much better off than you are. Archer already hates me for what happened to Natalie, so of course he wouldn’t want to help me now. Speaking of which, this is all your fault!” Raelyn’s anger rose as she spoke.
Why didn’t you kill Raymond in the first place? You could’ve ruined Natalie’s life in one fell swoop, but you didn’t. Now the b*tch is living the best of her life with two children, owning so many of the Saunders’ shares. And yet, my children have nothing. This is so annoying!”
“Who would have thought that Natalie would still be alive! It’s been more than twenty years since then. I thought I have got everything in order! I really didn’t expect things to turn out this way,” Savannah groaned. “Ronald now has complete control over me, and I can’t escape from him. But you, on the other hand, have plenty of opportunities. I came here to discuss how you can handle the current situation.”
“And what do you think I can do?” Raelyn asked.
“Well, for starters, there are two people that can help you. One of them is Paisley and the other is Raymond.”
“I can understand what you’re getting at for Paisley. But Raymond? How do you expect him to help me?” Raelyn snorted.
Savannah sneered, “Raymond is kindhearted and is most likely to show compassion. Plus, he values his family above all. Have you forgotten that you’re his aunt?”
Raelyn suddenly came to a realization and smiled wickedly, “Now that you’ve mentioned it… That’s true. Both my dad and Archer have been treating Talitha rather unkindly for the past few days that we’ve been here. Only Raymond has been willing to show her any sympathy at all. I could really make use of him!”
Savannah added, “Then, you’ll first have to treat Valeria well. After all, she’s Raymond’s sister. You know how difficult Valeria can be, especially since she’s close friends with Abbie, and Abbie hates Talitha. It’ll be much easier to resolve the current conflict if you and Talitha can get Valeria on your side, turning her against Raymond.”
“Alright, I’ll contact Raymond as you said. Maybe he could really help,” Savannah’s advice had raised Raelyn’s spirits.”But first, I’m going to see my dad. I had a huge fight with him last night, so I’ll have to apologize and beg for his forgiveness today.
However, Savannah stopped Raelyn in her tracks, “Hold up, I haven’t finished. Have you brought the medicine?”
Raelyn frowned, “Didn’t I tell you to stay put? Why won’t you listen to me?”
“Don’t worry, this isn’t meant for Elizabeth. It’s meant for someone else!” Savannah hurriedly explained.
“Huh? Who else do you want to smite other than Elizabeth?” Raelyn asked.
“Someone you wouldn’t possibly think of! If he dies, Charles and I can do everything as we please!” Savannah laughed wickedly.
As she heard this, Raelyn’s eyes widened in shock, “No way! Do you mean… Oh gosh, you really have nerves of steel, don’t you??”
“I’ve got nothing to lose anyway, so there’s really nothing I wouldn’t be willing to do anymore. No one who gets in my path is going to get away with it, and he’s no exception. To be honest, if he ever showed mercy to me, I would have done the same for him. Too bad he didn’t.”
“Wait! I can give you the medicine, but I must remind you that William isn’t someone to be trifled with.”
Savannah scoffed,”What can that useless pleasure seeker do?”
“He’s not as useless as you think! I didn’t come here solely because of Talitha’s matter. Rumor said that he might be the president of the Wolf Group, and I came here to see if it’s true.”
