Braelynn called Valeria before leaving the golf course. “Miss, my mom wants to treat you for dinner to celebrate. Are you free tonight?”
Lucian had requested Braelynn to inform Valeria about this matter, so Valeris would not refuse. “Yes, I’m free tonight.”
“Well, I’ll tell her and let you know the venue of the dinner later.”
After Valeria hung up the phone, Abbie asked her, “Is her mom your mother’s former personal assistant?”
“Yeap!” She nodded.
“Didn’t she always make things very difficult for you before? Why the sudden change in attitude?” Abbie knew how Lucian had treated Valeria when the latter had gone to ask her for help.
Valeria smiled and said, “I don’t know, but people change all the time. Perhaps she realised something?”
“Nah, I don’t believe such an excuse. I’m not stupid. By the way, is she Braelynn’s biological sister?”
Raymond answered while driving, “No, Lamont adopted her and raised her with Lucian, and she’s not their birth daughter.”
“Is that so? Oh, no! How could they abandon her? They’re too evil!” Abbie pitied Braelynn.
He shook his head and said, “I don’t know who they are. Uncle Saunders has been helping her to find her parents these years but to no avail.
“Alas! I guess it’s impossible then!” Abbie said with a sigh.
“I’m not sure. Who knows? Maybe we’ll find them one day. But, they should be too embarrassed to meet her since they dumped her ruthlessly, right?” Valeria also sighed.
The three of them went back to the city while chatting. After that, Braelynn called Valeria to tell her the venue, so Raymond dropped her off at the restaurant. However, she didn’t expect to see Hardy at the entrance of the restaurant.
It had been a long time since she saw him. His eyes widened, and he strode to her when he saw her. He then smiled and greeted her, “Hi, Valeria! Are you here alone?”
“No, I have an appointment!” Valeria felt a little uncomfortable being around Hardy. She did not hate him, but he was also related to Paisley, so she disliked him somehow.
Hardy could feel that Valeria was hostile, but he still smiled at her. “I’m also meetings my friends here, so I’ll leave first! By the way, I just saw Ronald and Savannah. They are so lovey-dovey.”
“What?” Valeria was stunned for a moment. She knew everything that had happened to them. Shouldn’t Savannah be enraged at Ronald since he had schemed against her? How could it be? Could it be that Hardy was mistaken?
Hardy added after he saw her surprised face, “They are in room No. 3 upstairs. Perhaps you will see them later too!”
He then smiled and left, but Valeria was still confused. Why were Savannah and Ronald putting on a peaceful facade in front of the public?
Could it be that the two b*tches had come up with a deal to make trouble? She then began to send a message to William to talk about this matter.
As she took out her phone, she heard Lucian’s voice coming from behind her. “Hello, Miss!”
She kept her phone and turned to Lucian with a smile. “Hi! Great to see you!”
“Yes, you’ve been waiting for a long time, haven’t you? Let’s go!” Lucian walked forward and grabbed Valeria’s hand with a gentle smile.
Her intimacy made Valeria very uncomfortable. She remembered that when she first came to find Lucian, the latter had treated her coldly. What was going on today?
Valeria calmly drew back her hand. “Why hasn’t Braelynn come yet? Let me call her.”
“Nah, you don’t have to because I called her just now. There’s a traffic jam on the road, so maybe she’ll arrive later.” Lucian immediately stopped Valeria when she saw the latter reaching for her phone.
“I see. Then let’s go and wait for her.” They went upstairs together.
Lucian took her to room No. 2. They met a waiter who was delivering the dishes to room No. 3 as they passed there.
Valeria slowed down and took a look inside. She saw Ronald and Savannah sitting inside. Meanwhile, Ronald was serving some food to Savannah with a smile on his face as he said, “This is delicious. You should try some.”
However, Savannah was frowning. Thus, Valeria was astonished to see this interesting scene.
“What the hell is going on?”
Lucian sneered as she had seen the scene too. However, both of them ignored the couple continued to walk to their room.
When they sat down, Lucian immediately brought up what they had seen. “Hah! I didn’t expect those two sl*ts to be together. Haha! That’s too ridiculous!”
“Yes!” Valeria replied as she did not know what to say.
“Savannah is a b*tch that won’t give up, so she will definitely fight back. Perhaps she is discussing something with Ronald, so you should be careful in the future. I’m afraid they will hurt you as they are extremely vicious!” Lucian reminded Valeria.
“Got it. I’ll make sure to keep that in mind.”
“Miss, is Archer nice to you?” Lucian asked again.
“Um… we’re alright. We don’t have any feelings for each other because we’re just strangers after all,” Valeria replied flatly.
“But he’s still your biological father. I didn’t tell you before because I was worried about Savannah! However, it’s good for you as Archer is willing to deal with her himself. So, you’ll be fine now that the Saunders family got your back.”
Lucian mentioned Archer purposely due to certain motives. Therefore, Valeria wanted to know what she was going to do. She commented faintly, “I’ve gotten over it. It doesn’t matter whether the Saunders family will protect me or not.”
“No! This is different! The Saunders family is not ordinary. You can do whatever you want under their protection. As their daughter, people will respect you and think twice before making things difficult for you.”
Lucian said sincerely, “I know you haven’t gotten used to it, but you should take it easy. Their background is not that complicated, even though they are influential and affluent. Archer and Gavin treat you well, and you won’t get into any conflicts with Raymond as he is your biological brother. The only person you have to worry about is Raelyn.”
“Raelyn? Isn’t she married? What do the Saunders family’s affairs have to do with her?” Valeria retorted.
