Chapter 446 Weighing the Pros and Cons

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

After Talitha and Paisley went their separate ways, Talitha called Savannah and said, “Aunt, I’m here in B City now. Are you free? Let’s meet up.”
On the other end, Savannah replied enthusiastically, “Alright, I’ll be right out. It’s dinnertime, so I’ll treat you to a big meal! Let’s go someplace nice.”
Half an hour later, they arrived at a high-end restaurant in the city. Talitha had already calmed herself down and redid her makeup, and they chatted while entering a private room in the restaurant.
“Talitha, did you just arrive today?” Savannah asked with a loving smile.
“Yes, at noon.”
“Aww, then why are you only calling me now?” She asked in a reproachful tone.
“I thought that you were busy, so I didn’t want to bother you and visited Raymond first. However, I didn’t expect to encounter something like this.” She sighed as she told Savannah what happened at dinner.
“Aunt, Valeria is the child of my uncle and that b*tch. If he wants her to come back to the family, aren’t you going to do anything?”
“I can’t change anything.” Savannah sighed. Talitha’s arrival must have been a signal from Raelyn. Savannah was nothing in the Saunders family, but Talitha was different.
Gavin liked Talitha a lot. Hence, Valeria returning to the Saunders family would have a great impact on Talitha and Raelyn. Because of this, the mother-daughter pair would handle this matter much better than her.
After she saw through Talitha’s motives for coming to B City, Savannah pretended to be pitiful. “You’re not an outsider. Can’t you see that I’m suffering? Your uncle does not take me seriously at all.”
Talitha chuckled coldly at her helpless expression. “Aunt, even if there’s nothing you can’t do, can’t Hayden do something about it? Valeria took your younger brother to meet my uncle and grandpa proudly. Is your dad, Hayden, really just going to watch your brother, William marry Valeria? That’s ridiculous! Archer marrying you, and his daughter marrying your brother. Is he going to let the Saunders and Howard family become a joke?”
“My dad certainly doesn’t want something this shameful to happen, but he can’t control William! William doesn’t listen to him at all.” Savannah sighed.
Talitha didn’t believe her at all. “Aunt, we all don’t want Valeria to enter the Saunders family. To put it bluntly, we all hate her. Can’t you do something about it? I don’t believe you can’t, though.”
“It’s not that I can’t. Talitha, there’s something I can do, but I don’t want to upset my father.”
Savannah was severely humiliated by Valeria and even had coffee splashed all over her. Her hatred towards Valeria was deep, and she had wanted to get rid of her a long time ago.
Now that Talitha had come to her, it meant that she would become useful to her. If she wanted to make use of Talitha, she had to put on a show again.
“Tell me what to do, and I’ll do it. I won’t put you in a difficult position.” Talitha’s eyes lit up.
Savannah was silent for a moment before she finally spoke. “We’ll make use of the media.”
“The media? Can you explain more?” Savannah and Paisley had thought of the same idea coincidentally, but Talitha pretended not to understand and asked further.
Savannah didn’t beat around the bush and got straight to the point. “Let’s report William and Valeria’s relationship to the media. We won’t reveal their names, but instead, we can replace their identities with the title ‘noble son’ and ‘young lady from a wealthy family’. Then, we can hire someone to comment their names to expose their identities. After this situation blows up, I believe your grandfather and your uncle would reconsider, right?”
Since Savannah had made it so clear, how could Talitha not understand? She said, “Oh? So which media company should we use?”
“B City is controlled by the Wolf Group and Richard entirely. Marcus from the Wolf Group and Richard both have a good relationship with William. They will definitely find out about our plan if we act here. Therefore, we can’t do it here in B City. We should use the media from other places.”
She understood and said, “Alright. My aunt is the best!”
If they had to find media from places other than B City, it would not be hard to find because Devon was a well-known and powerful person in Ruthorham.
Talitha did not worry about Savannah’s concerns. She immediately sent a message to Devon’s secretary to arrange for someone to write the scandal article.
This was a small matter for the secretary, so, in less than an hour, the article on William and Valeria was completed.
As Talitha ordered people to spread it on the Internet, she was already imagining the consequences William and Valeria had to face.
As Talitha and Savannah ate dinner, she browsed through the internet. Seeing the post going viral, her heart swelled with pride and she was in a good mood.
Tomorrow morning, William and Valeria would be in trouble because of this. If such a shameful thing were to be exposed, Gavin and Archer would have to consider the consequences carefully.
For the sake of the Saunders family’s reputation, Gavin and Archer would definitely try their best to settle this matter. By then, Valeria could return to the Saunders family only if she chose to break up with William. And according to Talitha’s observation, she would not be willing to break up with him, so she would definitely give up her opportunity to return to the Saunders family instead.
Savannah felt so much better after feeling depressed for the entire day. Talitha had really inherited Raelyn’s viciousness and craftiness! No wonder Raelyn had dared to ridicule her earlier, it seemed that she had already planned everything.
Savannah and Talitha had the same goal at the moment. Once this matter went viral and got out of hand, their plans would be a success.
After parting ways with Savannah, Talitha happily returned to the Wolf Group’s hotel. When she entered the hall, a pregnant woman accidentally bumped into her. The woman screamed and reached out to grab her arm immediately, and her long sharp nails left scratch marks on her.
Even though she was scratched through her clothes, it still left bloody scratch marks.
She couldn’t care about her facial expressions as she winced in pain. Without hesitation, she slapped the pregnant woman in the face.
The woman screamed and squatted down on the floor, and the security guards and waiters rushed over. They held the pregnant woman and asked with concern, “Are you alright, miss?”
“My stomach hurts! Oh no! My child!”
“Send her to the hospital at once!” The pregnant woman was being carried away while Talitha was stopped by security.
“Miss, the Wolf Group doesn’t welcome you! Please leave right now!”
“What? Leave? I have already booked a room. I am your guest. What right do you have to let me leave?” She was furious.
“We refuse to check-in for people with no morals. You slapped a pregnant woman! You have no morals and ethics, so you don’t deserve to live in our hotel.”
“What? Do you know who I am?”
“It doesn’t matter who you are. Please leave right now!” Someone took their phone out and started recording the scene while Talitha’s face turned pale with anger. It was too shameful to be driven out like this, but it would be detrimental to her reputation if tonight’s incident was exposed. She weighed the pros and cons, and in the end, she decided to leave the hotel while cursing loudly.
