Elizabeth had been observing Savannah and Charles. Noticing that they had gone behind the closed door, she made them tea and used it as an excuse to enter the room.
Before she knocked, she stood at the door and listened to what they were talking about.
And it seemed like they were having a serious discussion about killing Valeria. Elizabeth heard Charles telling Savannah about his vicious plan.
“Get a few guys and dress them up to be waiters in the resort, and they can improvise on how to kill Valeria once they’re in there. Those young rich kids attending the party probably won’t and do anything to help her. Heck, they probably wouldn’t even expect those waiters to launch an attack! That would be easier for our men to leave after they killed her.”
“Okay, let’s do that,” Savannah agreed. “But Charles, he’s also inside with Valeria. We must do something to him too. Maybe don’t kill him, just hurt him enough so that he can still do things for me in the future.”
“No problem. Now, tell me more about it.”
Elizabeth turned and left with the tea. She didn’t dare to linger around any longer after listening to what they were planning.
However, Elizabeth was glad that Savannah and Charles were finally planning to kill Valeria.
She hated Valeria and wanted her dead, but she couldn’t understand why Charles and Savannah wanted the same.
Perhaps it was because of the fact that Valeria was Natalie’s daughter. If so, Elizabeth wondered who the other guy they were talking about was.
Since Savannah didn’t want him dead, but just hurt enough so that she could make use of him, so that guy could be someone close to Savannah.
Feeling like Mason needed to know about the news, Elizabeth texted him as soon as she returned to her room, “Savannah and Charles are planning to kill Valeria. What do you think about this?”
Mason was surprised, “Really?”
“Yes, I heard them clearly. They mentioned sending their people to disguise as waiters in the resort to kill her. And they mentioned a man that will be together with Valeria. Any idea who that is?”
“Aunt, this is something big. I’ll find out about it.”
“Find out? From who?”
“I can just ask Valeria.”
“Mason, don’t you ever mention this to Valeria. Why would you still want to help her after what she did to you anyway? Don’t you dare tell her!”
“I’m not helping her, just asking. If she tells me where the resort is, we can arrange for people to monitor them discreetly. Isn’t it easier to control Savannah and Charles when we know their secret?”
Elizabeth didn’t comment on his reply.
Pacing in his room, Mason tried calling Valeria, but he couldn’t reach her no matter how many times he tried. It was then he remembered that Valeria had put him on her blacklist.
He quickly switched to another sim card and called her with another number. This time, the call went through.
“Who is this?” Valeria asked lightly.
“Mason. I need to tell you about something. Can we meet?”
“Mr. Eich, I’m rather busy. You can tell me through the phone,” Valeria replied coldly.
Even though her coldness put him in an awkward position, Mason wasn’t going to stop there. He continued, “This is about your safety, Valeria. Are you sure you won’t meet me?”
“Mr. Eich, it’s Ms. Brown for you. We’re not that close! Besides, I have a hold of my own matters. Thank you for your concern.”
Valeria was disgusted at his feigned concern. He sounded like a cheap person as he was before.
Judging from his tone, Mason probably thought he had some big news about her that can be used to blackmail her.
She felt so speechless about herself thinking about how nice she was to such a disgusting man.
On the other hand, Mason didn’t expect Valeria to be this indifferent. He thought she would be concerned and see him if he mentioned her safety. The way Valeria looked down on him made him feel like a joke.
And it pissed him off. Of course, he had something in mind when he called. Since Valeria broke up with William and was managing such a large company alone, Mason thought he might have a chance to make up with Valeria. That way, he could rightfully put his hands on the Brownard Group in the future.
Triggered by Valeria’s coldness, Mason sneered, “Well, I can’t do anything if you choose to go through it the hard way. Just wait and see!”
Valeria hung up the phone speechlessly. Knowing that Mason’s source of information must be Elizabeth, Valeria guessed that Charles and Savannah were coming up with something.
It seemed like Savannah was really going to do something. Abbie and Raymond’s plan worked.
If Savannah could be so cold-blooded to put Raymond in danger, Valeria felt like the party could be a death trap. Worried sick, she went to tell William about it. William gave a pat on her head, “Don’t worry, just go ahead! I’m here to protect you!”
His words had encouraged Valeria. The following morning, she texted Gavin on Whatsapp, saying that she would be sending back the pets.
Later that day, Valeria drove to the address Gavin gave her, with Oreo and Mocha sitting in the back seat.
Gavin especially had Arthur prepare a meal once he knew Valeria was coming, but Valeria didn’t have the time to stay. She was in a hurry to leave after dropping Oreo and Mocha, “Sir, I can’t stay long today.”
“At least eat something before you go?” Gavin tried to convince her.
“I’ve got a date, so maybe next time. My friend is waiting for me.”
Since Gavin couldn’t make her stay, he could only watch her leave. Meanwhile, Valeria picked Abbie up and went to the resort together.
Raymond went with Andrew a few hours earlier since he was the host.
According to their request the day earlier, the resort was fully vacated. There weren’t any outsiders aside from their staff.
Upon their arrival, Raymond and Andrew drove around the resort. They stopped when they passed by a small building, which was the staff hostel.
There was no gate around the small building since it was built on the outermost part of the area. So, someone could leave the resort area if they took a detour from the hostel.
Raymond frowned at that thought. No one would know if someone were to enter or leave from here.
He went around the small building and noticed that there was no surveillance around it. It didn’t feel safe for Raymond, so he decided to have people around here to guard this place.
Heavy with thoughts, he continued circling the building. Meanwhile, in one of the rooms upstairs, Natalie was standing by the window. She pulled up her face mask when she saw Raymond, and she couldn’t help staring at him.
It was rather clear to her who this young man was. Raymond looked exactly like a copy of Archer when he was young.
